Implementation of a Real-time Frequency Non-selective Fading Channel Simulator Using a TMS320C542 Processor (TMS320C542 프로세서를 이용한 실시간 주파수 비선택성 페이딩 채널 시뮬레이터 구현)

  • In general wireless mobile channel is modeled as complex random processes having a narrowband spectrum. In this paper, a real-time feneration of fading signals using a DSP chip is described. Real-time simulator is designed so that simulation parameters such as mobile terminal speed, carrier frequency, power ratio of line-of-sight component versus multipath, and variance of received power can be chosen in the window. Design algorithms for the generation of ideal fading signals with a minimum DSP computation and trade-offs are investigated. The accuracy of the statistical characteristics is verified through the comparison of measured results with the theoretical prediction.

  • The goal of this study was to develop control algorithms to improve the steering performance of a 120-ton all-terrain crane. To accomplish this, a hydraulic steering system for the crane was modeled using AMESim software, and a PID steering control algorithm was designed in the MATLAB/Simulink environment. The performance of the designed controller was verified through multiphysics co-simulations based on a real-time simulator.

  • A full-scale driving simulator is being developed as an effective test-bed for reproducing realistic driving situation in a safe and tightly controlled environment and conducting various human sensibility ergonomics studies. The simulator will be equipped with a 6 degree-of-freedom, high frequency motion base and a 4 channel, wide field-of-view visual system. The simulator will be fully interactive, highly realistic, and yet economical, taking advantages of the fast growing PC technology.

  • We present a use. interface(UI) simulator for developing a mobile phone. This simulator consists of 3 major modules: Graphic Tool Editor, User Interface Software(UI), and Network Command Processor(NCP). The Graphic Tool Editor can design a virtual mobile terminal. The NCP sends a command to the phone and then receives its status from the phone after completion of the command. We can add or modify lots of features easily to the phone using the UI module. These modules can interact each other by sharing the common area in the memory. By doing so, these modules can exchange their status and data to operate in real-time. We have designed and tested a virtual prototyping phone for the LGP 3200 manufactured by LGIC by using the simulator. Through a series of experiment, we have believed that our virtual prototyping interactive simulator can do shorten its development and testing cycle by applying it in the early design phase.

  • In general, real power system is not stopped for reason of its test. And then we have no way to verify its reliability on real power system. In this paper we present the real time simulation technique of the APRS(Automatic Power Reconfiguration System) before it is applied in real power system. We used the Real Time Digital Simulator constructed in KEPRL And we applied the power system model which is reduced because of RTDS capacity. Also, We prescent the method Interface between target system(APRS) and RTDS. Last, We provide the test results and the meaning.

  • A fossil power plant can be modeled by a lot of algebraic equations and differential equations. When we simulate a large, complicated fossil power plant by a computer such as workstation or PC, it takes much time until overall equations are completely calculated. Therefore, new processing systems which have high computing speed is ultimately needed to develope real-time simulators. Vital points of real-time simulators are accuracy, computing speed, and deadline observing. In this paper, we present a enhanced strategy in which we can provide powerful computing power by parallel processing of DSP processors with communication links. We designed general purpose DSP modules, and a VME interface module. Because the DSP module is designed for general purpose, we can easily expand the parallel system by just connecting new DSP modules to the system. Additionally we propose methods about downloading programs, initial data to each DSP module via VME bus, DPRAM and processing sequences about computing and updating values between DSP modules and CPU30 board when the simulator is working.
