The engagement control software embedded in the weapon control computer of the fire control center for air defense missile system is large-scale real-time software. The use of typical software development methodologies is not appropriate to develop such large-scale embedded software in terms of reusability, reliability, and productivity for the reason that it is significantly complicated, and highly dependent on hardware platforms and developers. In this paper, a model-based software architecture using components based on UML 2.0 for the engagement control software is presented in order to solve these problems. This software architecture is verified using the black-box test, the scenario-based test, and the Ethernet packet monitoring test methods. The results demonstrate that the developed software architecture can be employed to enhance reusability, maintainability, and productivity of large-scale embedded software.

An embedded motion controller supporting the PLC programming environment based on the IEC 61131-3 International Standard Language was developed in this paper. In this developed motion controller, the CoDeSys, one of the IEC61131-3 development tools, was embedded in order to support that of PLC as well as the development environment of the PC, and the various function blocks based on PLCopen standard for motion control such as the linear and circular interpolation control were implemented. Moreover, the ethernet based remote control on real-time operating system and the motion simulator for a motion programmer were implemented.

This is a research of an adaptive longitudinal control system for situated cognition in wide range, traffic accidents reduction and safety driving environment by integrated system which graft a road infrastructure's information based on IT onto the intelligent vehicle combined automobile and IT technology. The road infrastructure installed by laser scanner in intersection, speed limited area and sharp curve area where is many risk of traffic accident. The road infra conducts objects recognition, segmentation, and tracking for determining dangerous situation and communicates real-time information by Ethernet with vehicle. Also, the data which transmitted from infrastructure supports safety driving by integrated with laser scanner's data on vehicle bumper.

The EtherCAT protocol has become a very promising alternative for real-time industrial application due to its ability to eliminate uncertainties in the Ethernet. However, the extended markup language (XML) for the EtherCAT network system, which is required in the design, lacks systematic development to take advantage of model transformation techniques. This paper focuses on the system development procedure of the EtherCAT-based encoder system using the CANopen over EtherCAT (CoE) protocol. UML modeling is being adapted to design for XML of EtherCAT-based encoder system. To this purpose, this paper analyzes the object dictionary (OD) of a commercial encoder and CANopen over EtherCAT. A UML diagram is then designed based on the analysis, and XML is generated through the designed UML diagram. Finally, an experimental test_bed for the EtherCAT-based encoder system is implemented and its performance is compared with a commercial encoder.

It is require to design the next generation avionics system while considering applicability under open architecture where standerd communication module is used. In this situation, if the existing schemes cannot guarantee new requirement, new system development is demanded. In this paper, we present design, implementation, and testing procedure for message based middleware to support operational flight program on avionics. System architecture include mission computer (MC) and large area display (LAD) over standard socket communication based on reliable Ethernet. Finally, experimental results demonstrate that the proposed middleware can guarantee real-time with 20msec as well as reliability requirements with no lost packet.

The major elements of avionics system architecture are requirements, Real Time Operating System, message communication, memory, and data format etc. Herein describes a state-of-the-art development trend for the avionics system architecture, system requirements and data bus among the major elements of avionics system. While, domestic technology has been tried to Integrated Modular Avionics(IMA) system based on the Avionics Full Duplex Switched Ethernet(AFDX) technology during Light Attack Helicopter(LAH) project in Korea, but not yet proved as the product case in Full Scale Development Phase. The avionics system architecture considering the domestic inexperience of the IMA system architecture are suggested for the Next-generation Corps Unmanned Aircraft System.
Weak over-the-horizon perception and blind spot are the main problems in intelligent connected vehicles (ICVs). In this paper, a V2V image transmission-based road condition warning method is proposed to solve them. The encoded road emergency images which are collected by the ICV are transmitted to the on-board unit (OBU) through Ethernet. The OBU broadcasts the fragmented image information including location and clock of the vehicle to other OBUs. To satisfy the channel quality of the V2X communication in different times, the optimal fragment length is selected by the OBU to process the image information. Then, according to the position and clock information of the remote vehicles, OBU of the receiver selects valid messages to decode the image information which will help the receiver to extend the perceptual field. The experimental results show that our method has an average packet loss rate of 0.5%. The transmission delay is about 51.59 ms in low-speed driving scenarios, which can provide drivers with timely and reliable warnings of the road conditions.
The temperature control of a scientific device is essential because extreme temperature conditions can cause hazard issues for the operation. We developed a software which can interact with the temperature sensor using the GMT SDK(Giant Magellan Telescope Software Development Kit) version 1.6.0. The temperature sensor interacts with the EtherCAT(Ethernet for Control Automation Technology) slave via the hardware adapter, sending and receiving data by a packet. The PDO(Process Data Object) and SDO(Service Data Object), which are the packet interacts with each EtherCAT slave, are defined on the TwinCAT program that enables the real-time control of the devices. The user can receive data from the device via grs(GMT Runtime System) tools and log service. Besides, we programmed the software to print an alert message on the log when the temperature condition changes to certain conditions.

Conventional fire fighting robots are controlled by a remote control to monitor the fire scene or to suppress the fire. However, this method has a problem that it takes a long time to prepare robot and input it to fire place in the golden time after the fire, so that it can not sufficiently serve as a fire fighting robot. Using the autonomous driving fire monitoring robot, when a fire signal is generated, in conjunction with a fire receiver a moving robot takes a video of the fire scene and delivers the image to the fire department, so that the fire fighter can decide if it is real fire or not. Thereby it is possible to prevent a sudden spread of an accident by providing a quick judgment opportunity and at the same time suppressing the fire early. In this paper, we propose an architecture of the autonomous mobile fire monitoring robot and the communication protocol required for the robot to work with the fire receiver. A communication protocol is designed to control multiple fire monitoring robots in real time, and a communication with a fire receiver is designed as a hierarchical network to serve as an interface of an Ethernet network using wireless Wi-Fi. The fire monitoring robot and the wireless communication of the fire receiving period are implemented and the effectiveness of the operation is confirmed through the field test.
PLS(Pohang Light Source) will begin the PLS-II project that has been funded by the KOREA Government in order to further upgrade the PLS which has operated since 1992. The control system of the PLS-II has distributed control architecture, with two layers of hierarchy; operator interface computer (OIC) layer and machine interface computer (MIC) layer. The OIC layer is based on SUN workstation with UNIX. A number of PC-based consoles allow to remotely operating the machine from the control room. PC-based consoles use the Linux or Windows operation system. Similar consoles in the experimental hall are used to control experiments. The MIC layer is directly interfaced to individual machine devices for low-level data acquisition and control. MIC layer is based on VMEbus standard with vxWorks real-time operating system. Executable application software modules are downloaded from host computers at the system start-up time. The MIC's and host computers are linked through Ethernet network. It should enable the use of hardware and software already developed for specific light source requirements. The core of the EPICS (Experimental Physics and Industrial Control System)[1] has been chosen as the basis for the control system software.
