더블 베이스 추진제의 비군사화 소각공정 (Incineration Process of Double Base Propellant for Demilitarization)

  • 회전식 소각공정은 고에너지 물질의 폐기처리를 위해 현재 상용화 되고 있는 기술로 열풍을 이용하여 대상물질을 열분해하는 공정이며 TNT, RDX 및 Composition B를 통한 열분해 공정의 사전연구가 진행되었다. 본 연구의 대상물질은 나이트로셀룰로스(nitrocellulose, NC)와 나이트로글리세린(nitroglycerine, NG)의 혼합물인 더블베이스 추진제(M8)로 선정하였다. M8 추진제의 열분해 반응은 응축상 반응(condensed phase reaction, CPR)과 기체상 반응(gas phase reactions, GPRs)로 구성되어 있다. CPR의 경우 흡열반응으로 4가지 화합물을 생성하며, GPRs의 경우 59개의 가스화합물 및 365개의 흡열·발열 반응으로 구성되어 있다. 본 연구는 gPROMS 소프트웨어를 이용하여 관형반응기의 수학적 모델링을 완성하였으며, 운전온도 및 유속 변화에 따른 케이스스터디를 진행하였다. 상대적으로 낮은 유속 및 높은 공정온도는 반응기의 내부온도(Case3: 953 K, Case6: 1300 K)를 상승 시켰으며, CO2와 H2O 몰농도 값 상승을 통해 완전연소율이 증가하는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 본 연구 내열형 소각로 설계, 운전조건을 도출하는데 있어 기초 자료로 활용될 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.

T-방식과 M-방식을 이용한 저궤도위성용 반작용 휠의 속도측정보드 설계 (The Implementation of the Speed Measurement Board for the Reaction Wheel on the LEO Satellite using the T, M-Method)

  • 본 논문에서는 저궤도 위성의 반작용 휠 속도 측정을 위해 M-방식과 T-방식 모두 검출가능한 보드를 설계하여 두 방식의 장점을 이용할 수 있도록 하고, 실제 위성탑재컴퓨터에 장착하여 시험을 수행하고 이를 통하여 그 설계의 유용성을 검증한다. 위성에서 반작용 휠은 위성의 자세를 변화시킬 수 있는 대표적인 구동기의 하나로 반작용 휠 구동모터의 회전에 의해 발생하는 회전관성에 의해 자세 제어를 수행하게 된다. 반작용 휠의 회전속도를 검출하는 방법으로는 일정한 주기 T 동안 발생된 반작용 휠 내부 타코 펄스를 세어 휠의 속도를 검출하는 M-방식과 휠에서 발생되는 타코 펄스들 간의 시간을 측정해서 속도를 검출하는 T-방식으로 나눌 수 있다. M-방식은 구현이 간단하고 측정 시간이 일정하다는 장점이 있으나, 저속에서는 속도 측정 분해능이 떨어진다는 단점이 있다. 그에 반해, 타코 펄스간의 시간을 측정하는 T-방식은 저속에서 정밀한 속도를 측정할 수 있으며 측정에 따른 시간 지연이 작다는 장점이 있다. 그러나 이 방법 역시 실제 구현에 있어서 연산이 복잡하고 속도에 따라 연산 속도가 달라진다는 단점이 있다.

  • Corynebacterium glutamicum의 NADPH-specific glutamate dehydrogenase를 이용하여 NADPH, NH$_4$Cl, $\alpha$-ketoglutarate의 기질에 대한 kinetics를 고찰하였다. 이들의 kinetic constants를 측정함으로서 정반응에로의 효소반응 기작은 첫번째 효소와 반응하는 기질이 NADPH 임을 확인할 수 있었다. Glutamate dehydrogenase 활성의 조절을 위한 metabolites의 효과를 고찰하여 본 결과 malate와 citrate 만이 효소에 억제 효과를 나타내었으며, potassium chloride는 효소활성에 가장 많은 영향을 주었다.

  • Exposed to various environments, concrete confronts degradation by a lot of physical and chemical reaction. Though so many experiments and theorizations on the single condition of concrete degradation have been carried out by constant studies, the truth for now is that there are few studies on the compound phenomenon of degradation related with marine environments. Accordingly, this study measured the degree of degradation in the change of external shape, the change of unit weight and compressive strength, ultrasonic velocity test, and the change of length, etc. after exposing the specimen of cement mortar to the environment between 0 cycle and the maximum of 300 cycles under the condition of aquatic curing, freezing and thawing, and compound degradation, using mineral admixture effective for concrete degradation as a binder. The result indicated that the case of adding mineral admixture showed greater resistance than that of using OPC only, and specifically, the specimen with the additive of slag powder and three component system showed very excellent resistance to freezing and thawing, and compound degradation.

Thermal and Flow Analysis in a Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cell

  • The effects of anode, cathode, and cooling channels for a Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cell (PEMFC) on flow fields have been investigated numerically. Continuous open-faced fluid flow channels formed in the surface of the bipolar plates traverse the central area of the plate surface in a plurality of passes such as a serpentine manner. The pressure distributions and velocity profiles of the hydrogen, air and water channels on bipolar plates of the PEMFC are analyzed using a two-dimensional simulation. The conservation equations of mass, momentum, and energy in the three-dimensional flow solver are modified to include electro-chemical characteristics of the fuel cell. In our three-dimensional numerical simulations, the operation of electro-chemical in Membrane Electrolyte Assembly (MEA) is assumed to be steady-state, involving multi-species. Supplied gases are consumed by chemical reaction. The distributions of oxygen and hydrogen concentration with constant humidity are calculated. The concentration of hydrogen is the highest at the center region of the active area, while the concentration of oxygen is the highest at the inlet region. The flow and thermal profiles are evaluated to determine the flow patterns of gas supplied and cooling plates for an optimal fuel cell stack design.

  • 毛細灌法을 利用하여 여러가지 混合溶媒系(dioxane-n-butanol, dioxane-sec-butanol, dioxane-ethyleneglycol, dioxane-kerosene)중에서 polyvinylacetate의 희박용액을 機械的으로 切斷하여 그 결과로 얻어진 平均切斷速度定數(k) 및 極限重合度(g)를 moleculare dimension이 동일한 조건하에서 比較검토하였다. 그 결과 k보다는 g의 값이 사용하는 solvent의 종류에 따라 크게 영향을 받음을 알았으며 이에 關하여 考察하였다.

  • The research and development of an actuator are accelerating in the robotics industry. The electricity polymer and SMA actuator are designed simply and are produced a lot of forces per unit volume. Their motions are similar to human's motion, But the repeatability of the electricity polymer actuator is lower. The reaction velocity of the SMA actuator is slow and the travel is short. In this paper, the dynamic characteristic of the segmented SMA is studied. The SMA wire is divided by using the Thermo-electric module(TEM) to control each of segments independently. The MOSFET circuit is used to supply constant currents fer the Thermo-electric module(TEM). The hysteresis and displacement of the SMA wire according to load are measured.

  • Dynamic postural control varies with the environmental context, specific task and intentions of the subject. In this paper, dynamic postural control against forward-backward perturbations of a platform was estimated using tri-axial accelerometers and a force plate. Ten young healthy volunteers stood upright in comfortable condition on the perturbation system which was controlled by an AC servo motor. With anterior-posterior perturbations, movements of ankle, knee and hip Joints were obtained by tri-axial accelerometers. and ground reaction forces with corresponding displacements of the center of pressure(CoP) by the force plate. The result showed that the ankle moved first and the trunk forward, which implies that the mechanism of the dynamic postural control in forward-backward perturbations, occurred in the procedure of the ankle, the knee and the hip. Knee flexion and hip extension in the period of acceleration, constant velocity and deceleration phase is very important fur the balance recovery. These responses depends on the magnitude and timing of the perturbation. From the present study the accelerometry-system appears to be a promising tool for understanding kinematic accelerative In response to a transient platform perturbation. A more through understanding of balance recovery mechanism may aid in designing methods for reducing falls and the resulting injuries.

Characterization of a Paenibacillus woosongensis ${\beta}$-Xylosidase/${\alpha}$-Arabinofuranosidase Produced by Recombinant Escherichia coli

  • A gene encoding the ${\beta}$-xylosidase/${\alpha}$-arabinofuranosidase (XylC) of Paenibacillus woosongensis was cloned into Escherichia coli. This xylC gene consisted of 1,425 nucleotides, encoding a polypeptide of 474 amino acid residues. The deduced amino acid sequence exhibited an 80% similarity with those of both Clostridium stercorarium ${\beta}$-xylosidase/${\alpha}$-N-arabinosidase and Bacillus cellulosilyticus ${\alpha}$-arabinofuranosidase, belonging to the glycosyl hydrolase family 43. The structural gene was subcloned with a C-terminal His-tag into a pET23a(+) expression vector. The His-tagged XylC, purified from a cell-free extract of a recombinant E. coli BL21(DE3) Codon Plus carrying a xylC gene by affinity chromatography, was active on para-nitrophenyl-${\alpha}$-arabinofuranoside (pNPA) as well as para-nitrophenyl-${\beta}$-xylopyranoside (pNPX). However, the enzymatic activities for the substrates were somewhat incongruously influenced by reaction pHs and temperatures. The enzyme was also affected by various chemicals at different levels. SDS (5 mM) inhibited the enzymatic activity for pNPX, while enhancing the enzymatic activity for pNPA. Enzyme activity was also found to be inhibited by addition of pentose or hexose. The Michaelis constant and maximum velocity of the purified enzyme were determined for hydrolysis of pNPX and pNPA, respectively.

  • In the presence of hydrogen peroxide, the effects of temperature and pH to the catalytic reaction velocity of cupric -thiocyanate and the quantities of reduction products adsorbed on the D.M.E. have been studied by polarographic method. According to these experiments, the following empirical equation has been derived for the relation among temperature $T_i$, concentration of hydrogen ion $pH_i$ and adsorbed cuprous-thiocyanate in moles/$cm^2Z_{ij}$, and rate constant log$K_{ij}$ $$log\;K_{ij}=\frac{1}{T_i}\{A(pH_j)+B\}+C(pH_j)+D$$ $$Z_{ij}=\frac{1}{T_i}\{{\alpha}(pH_j)^{\frac{1}{2}}+{\beta}\}+{\gamma}(pH_j)^{\frac{1}{2}}+{\delta}$$ where, A,B,C,D and {$\alpha},{\beta},{\gamma},{\delta}$ are constants. The Calculated values by both equations are well agreed with empirical values within 8% in the error.
