Objectives : The purpose of this study is to report the image changes of two cases of Lumbar intervertebral Disc Sequestration after oriental medical treatment. Methods : We examined 2 patients with Lumbar intervertebral Disc Sequestration who showed changes on MRI images before/after the treatment. And we assessed clinical symptoms by using numeric rating scale(NRS) and straight leg raising test(SLRT). Results & Conclusions : In this study, the first MRI examination of Lumbar intervertebral Disc Sequestration patients was performed at the first visit and re-examination of MRI was done after treatment. In each case, the size of the disc sequestration was considerably reduced in MRI image. And both patients represented effective improvment in NRS score and SLRT test angle.

Purpose: The aim of this study was to determine the reasons and solutions for intraoral phosphor storage plate (PSP) image artifacts and errors, and to develop an appropriate classification of the artifacts. Materials and Methods: This study involved the retrospective examination of 5,000 intraoral images that had been obtained using a phosphor plate system. Image artifacts were examined on the radiographs and classified according to possible causative factors. Results: Artifacts were observed in 1,822 of the 5,000 images. After examination of the images, the errors were divided into 6 groups based on their causes, as follows: images with operator errors, superposition of undesirable structures, ambient light errors, plate artifacts (physical deformations and contamination), scanner artifacts, and software artifacts. The groups were then re-examined and divided into 45 subheadings. Conclusion: Identification of image artifacts can help to improve the quality of the radiographic image and control the radiation dose. Knowledge of the basic physics and technology of PSP systems could aid to reduce the need for repeated radiography.

Objectives : The Korean Medical concept Nochae(勞瘵) has been identified as tuberculosis, which is defined as an infectious disease caused by Myobacterium Tuberculosis. However, this identification requires re-examination. Methods : The historical context of tuberculosis was examined, followed by examination of Nochae(勞瘵) as explained in the classical medical texts. The findings were compared. Results : Before tuberculosis was defined by Myobacterium Tuberculosis, there were various discussions on the disease, which overlapped greatly with Nochae(勞瘵). On the other hand, there were notable distinctions as well, which suggest key characteristics of Nochae(勞瘵). Conclusions : Tuberculosis pre-bacteria was understood as a consumptive and infectious disease manifested in symptoms in the Lungs. Nochae(勞瘵) was not defined by its lesion but rather within the contexts of deficiency-fatigue and being caused by parasites called Chung(蟲). Moreover, emotional fatigue was understood as the main cause of Nochae(勞瘵).

A taxonomic survey of the dinoflagellate family Prorocentraceae Stein was conducted on 17 locations off the coast of Korea. This monograph is the result of the microscopic analyses. A total of eight species have been identified and described, of which Prorocentrum concavum Fukuyo is new record for Korea.

A taxonomic survey of the dinoflagellate family, Triadiniaceae Dodge was conducted on 17 locations off the coast of Korea. Three species of Goniodoma collected from the coast of Korea: Goniodoma orientale Lindemann, G. polyedricum (Pouchet) Jorgensen, and G. sphaericum Murray et Whiting.

This paper argues that the de se reading is a composite of the corresponding de re one plus the presupposition that there exists a strong epistemic relation between the object of attitude, linguistically realized as an anaphor, and the attitude-bearer, the referent of the anaphor's antecedent. Close examination of the relation between the attitudes de se and anaphora reveals that the notion de se, as currently understood, should be generalized to explain the choice of anaphors. A taxonomy of anaphors in terms of a general notion like presupposition provides further empirical support for the approach taken here.

The public sector extension services in which governments of less developed countries (LDCs) have invested large sums often at the behest of donors are achieving uneven impact, often at unsustainable high costs. Further, the fundamental premise of public sector extension - that low-income farmers are unlikely to obtain technical information unless it is provided by government - increasingly requires re-examination. This paper reviews the pressures facing conventional agricultural extension, examines the prospects of recent approaches that are participatory, institutionally pluralistic and geared towards cost-sharing, and suggests ways forward for governments.

It has been well known that the Grad thirteen-moment equations have solutions only when the Mach number is less than a limiting value for the stationary plane shock-waves. The limit of Mach number has been re-examined by including successive terms in the series expansion of distribution function. The method employed is the linear analysis of moment equations near up-streaming and down-streaming flows. For the thirteen moment case, it has been confirmed that equations have solutions only when the Mach number is less than 1.6503, which is consistent with the literature value. For the case of twenty moments, the limit of Mach number is decreased to 1.3416.

A rare case of esophageal atresia/tracheo-esophageal fistula (EA-TEF) with an associated tracheobronchial remnant (TBR) is reported and discussed herein. A 13-month-old patient was seen with a complaint of vomiting of solid food 1 year after EA-TEF repair. An esophagogram showed a tapered narrowing in the lower segment of the esophagus. A re-operation was carried out and a pathologic examination of the resected stenotic segment revealed the presence of a TBR.
