Application of Color Information to Facilitate Finding Books in the Library

  • Objective: We propose to apply color information to facilitate finding books in the library. Background: Currently, books are classified in the basis of a decimal classification system and a call number in the library. Users find a book using the call number. However, this classification system causes various difficulties. Method: In a process analysis and survey study, we identify what the real problem is and where the problem is occurred. To solve the real problems, we derived a new search method using color information. We conducted a comparative experiment with 48 participants to see whether the new method can show higher performance. Results: The new method using color information showed faster time and higher subjective rating scores than current call number method. Also, the new method showed faster time regardless of the skill level while the call number method showed time differences in terms of the skill level. Conclusion: The effectiveness of the proposed method was verified by experiments. Users will be able to find the desired book without difficulty. This method can improve the quality of service and satisfaction of library use. Application: Our book search method can be applied as a book search tool in a real public library. We hope that the method can provide higher satisfaction to users.

농업용 트랙터의 연료 소비 효율 등급화 (Rating of Agricultural Tractors by Fuel Efficiency)

  • This study was conducted to develop an index of fuel consumption to rate agricultural tractors by their fuel efficiencies. The fuel consumption index consisted of two components: basic and operational indexes. The basic index is to consider an average amount of fuel consumed by engine when it transmits 20 and 100% of the rated power. The operational index is to consider the fuel consumed by tractor for typical field operations: plowing, rotavating, and the remains. The equations and procedures to obtain these indexes were proposed. The method and fuel consumption rate to classify tractors into 5 grades were also proposed. The best 15% of the tractor models were rated as the first grade, 20% as the second grade, 30% as the third grade, 20% as the fourth grade, and 15% as the fifth grade in order of fuel efficiency. Using the fuel consumption index, the classification was conducted on 143 tractor models tested at the National Institute of Agricultural Engineering from 2000 to 2007. The proposed 5-grade system of classification using the fuel consumption index could be used to rate the fuel efficiency of 20-100 kW tractor models produced over past 10 years in Korea.

석탑문화재 손상 유형 및 영향 요인에 따른 손상도 평가 (Damage Assessment According to Damage Types and Influential Factors of Stone Pagoda Structure)

  • Stone pagoda structures have continued to be aged due to the combination of various damage factors. However, some studies on nonstructural damage have been carried out, but assessment studies on structural damage have not been done in various ways. Therefore, in this study, structural and nonstructural influencing factors according to the damage types are classified and the damage assessment according to the structural influencing factors affecting the behavior of the stone pagoda structure is performed. In addition, the damage rating classification criteria for each type of structural damages or damage locations are presented, and the damage index is calculated by providing the criteria for the classification of damage according to the degree of damage to which the damage is caused. Therefore, this study can evaluate quantitatively the damage status of stone pagoda structures.

  • 물리검층은 최근에 토목지반조사분야에 대한 활용성이 증가하고 있다. 이것은 물리 검층이 시추공 내에서 분해능 높은 다양한 원위치 물성정보를 제공할 수 있는 장점이 있기 때문이다. 현재 토목지반조사분야에서 적용되고 있는 것은 주로 암상구분, 파쇄대 인식과 동탄성계수의 산출, 지하수흐름검층 등이다. 이와 관련하여 최근에 활용성이 증가하는 물리검층법에 대한 소개와 지반조사와 관련한 물리검층 사례, 그리고 완전파형음파검층에 의한 탄성파 속도와 암반분류와 관계에 대한 사례를 소개한다.

방문간호를 통한 일상생활동작 수행능력 개선에 대한 사례보고: 오마하시스템을 활용하여 (Improvement of Activities of Daily Living through Visiting Nursing Care under Long-Term Care Insurance: A Case Report using the OMAHA System)

  • Purpose: This study was done to report nursing case for ADL improvement of elders who have CVA(Cerebrovascular Accident) sequelae. Methods: The client had registered in the C visiting nursing center after being decided a long-term care Grade 2. Data were collected through consultation logs for recipients, Activities of Daily Living (ADL) records, fall risk assessment (Huhn) sheets, decubitus ulcer risk assessment (Braden Scale) sheets, cognition assessment (K-MMSE) sheets, long-term care benefit provision records, and interviews with visiting nurse. Data were collected and analyzed according to the Omaha System problem classification. The intervention scheme and the problem rating scale for performance were applied to present the case for home-visit nursing. Results: The client registered in August, 2018, was provided home-visit nursing care once a week as of September 2020. ADL, cognitive levels and decubitus ulcer risks were found to have improved. Conclusion: This case report presents the value of classifying nursing problems and checking nursing intervention provided to patients with problems of ADL. The presentation of home-visit nursing cases applying a standardized nursing problem classification scheme for clients with various problems showed that a high quality level of care is guaranteed and evidence-based nursing can be provided by visiting nurses.

근육형 남성의 체형분류에 관한 연구 - 상반신을 중심으로- (A Study on the Somatotype Classification of Muscular Men - Focused on the Upper Body-)

  • The purpose of this research is to understand the physiological characteristics of muscular men between the ages of 20 and 34 years who are distinct from the general population due to their muscular development, and to categorize them according to upper body somatotypes. This research was conducted in order to provide basic data necessary for developing clothing products for muscular men. The research method and results were as follows: the "Sheldon's" and "Heath-Carter" somatotype classification methods were carried out at sports centers, the Athletic College, and military bases in Seoul and Gyeonggi province. Excluding the 32 subjects that did not have a balanced mesomorph, ectomorphic mesomorph or mesomorph-ectomorph, research on the remaining 168 subjects was used in the data analysis. 2. We used the following factor analysis: factor 1 for torso size; factor 2 for upper-arm, armpit, and chest breath size; and 3. The upper body was categorized into four (4) types, and their individual characteristics were as follows: Type 1 had the most developed arms, shoulders, chest muscles, and the shortest height. These subjects had an average of 191 somatotype points and could be classified as a balanced mesomorph. The heights and the lengths of Type 2 were short. They had slim physical structures, averaged 182 somatype points, and could be classified as an ectomorphic mesomorph. somatotype points and were classified as a balanced mesomorph. The heights and the lengths of Type 4 were long. They had slim physical structures, averaged 164 somatotype points, and were classified as a balanced mesomorph-ectomorph. 4. After carrying out a discriminant analysis to validate the categories of muscular men's upper bodies, we concluded that our model had an accuracy rating of 98.1%.

이분적 터널 암반 분류를 위한 정성적 자료의 지구통계학적 연구 II. 응용 (A Geostatistical Study Using Qualitative Information for Tunnel Rock Binary Classificationll- II. Applcation)

  • 본 논문에서는, 정성적 데이타를 체계적으로 이용할 수 있는, 지시크리깅(indicator kriging) 과 오차에 대응하는 비용(cost of errors)에 근거한 암반분류 방법의 응용예에 관해 연구하였다. 특히, 암반의 이분적 분류(binary classification)가 고려되었으며, 이를 위해서, 간편화된 암반 평가 시스템 (rock mass rating system, RMR)이 사용되었다. 또한, 대부분의 주관성은 손실함 수를 작성할 때 발생하기 때문에, 손실함수의 민감도 분석(sensitivity analysis)이 수행되었다. 본 연구를 통해, 오차에 대응하는 비용의 기대값이 암반조사를 위한 시추 방법이 잘 계획되었는지에 관한 평가척도로 이용될 수 있음을 알았다. 오차에 대응하는 비용의 기대값과 그 데이타를 샘플링 하는데 드는 비용을 감안할 때, 정성적 데이타가 정량적 데이타보다 경제적일 경우도 있으며, 이는 주위 지반상태와 시추에 드는 비용을 잘 고려하여 결정되어야 한다. 응용예를 통해서 제시된 방법은 보다 체계적인 암반 조사를 위해 크게 기여할 것으로 사료된다.

두 분류 분포를 위한 오즈 곡선 (Odds curve for two classification distributions)

  • 이진분류모형의 성능을 탐색하는 시각적인 대표적인 방법인 ROC 곡선과 TOC 곡선 그리고 TROC 곡선은 혼동행렬을 구성하는 TP, TN, FP, FN 그리고 이들의 비율인 TPR, TNR, FPR, FNR으로 구현된다. 본 연구에서는 두 종류의 비율비인 오즈를 고려하여 단위면적인 정사각형에서의 구현하는 오즈 곡선을 제안하고, ROC 곡선과의 관계를 보인다. 오즈 곡선에서 판별력을 측정하는 두 종류의 측도를 제안하고, 오즈 곡선들의 형태를 바탕으로 두 종류의 측도를 이용하여 두 분류 분포의 판단 기준을 설정한다. 본 연구에서 제안한 오즈 곡선은 다른 시각적인 방법 등과 같이 유용하게 사용할 수 있으며, 오즈 곡선의 판별력을 측정하는 두 종류의 측도들은 분류 성능을 판단하는 대안적인 방법으로 같이 이용할 수 있다.

다변량 판별분석을 통한 터널 설계시의 암반분류 연구 (A study on rock mass classification in the design of tunnel using multivariate discriminant analysis)

  • 터널의 설계에 있어서 RMR 분류방법은 암반을 분류하고 암반등급에 따른 지보패턴을 결정하기 위하여 널리 사용하여 왔다. 하지만 이러한 RMR 분류방법은 현장상태를 고려하여야만 구할 수 있는 변수들을 사용하고 암반을 분류하는 기술자의 경험적 판단에 의존될 수 밖에 없다. RMR 암반분류 방법을 설계단계에서 활용할 때 RMR의 평가요소들을 모두 고려하는 것은 실무적으로 불가능하다. 따라서 설계시 정량적인 요소만을 사용하여 RMR 분류 가능성을 확인하기 위하여 판별분석을 수행하였다. 정량적 데이터인 암석강도 혹은 RQD는 RMR 값과의 상관계수가 높으며, 기존 암반분류기준을 살펴볼 때 암석강도와 RQD는 암반분류를 위한 중요한 요소이다. 기존의 RMR 암반분류 방법을 통한 암반분류와 두 가지 변수만을 고려한 판별분석을 수행한 암반분류 결과 암석강도를 독립변수로 사용한 판별분석시 74.8%, RQD를 독립변수로 사용한 판별분석시 74.3%의 정확도로 RMR 암반분류가 가능하였다. 암석강도와 RQD를 함께 고려한 판별분석을 하였을 때 82.5%의 정확도로 RMR 암반분류가 가능하였다. 기존의 사례분석에서 RMR 전체 요소를 통하여 수행된 설계단계의 전체 적중률은 40.3% 정도 수준임을 감안할 때 설계단계에서는 암석강도와 RQD 만으로도 충분한 RMR 암반분류가 가능할 것이다.

Fire resistance and residual strength of reactive powder concrete Using metakaolin

  • This study investigates the fire resistance characteristics of reactive powder concrete according to changes in the cement content per unit area, mixing ratio of metakaolin (MK), and content of polypropylene fiber. A fire test was conducted, and the resulting residual strength characteristics were investigated through flexural and compressive strength measurements, as well as condition rating classification based on visual evaluation. MK effectively reduced the initial high content of calcium hydroxide, thereby reducing the water vapor pressure generated during pyrolysis and slowing spalling. Furthermore, the pore structure and loose tissue were effective for relieving the water vapor pressure in the event of a fire.
