A Study about Output Filter of Paralleled Three-Phase Grid-Connected PV Inverters

  • The rising popularity of renewable energy sources resulted in development of the units of higher rated powers. As a result of the limited power handling capacity of individual devices, paralleling is the choice to increase the equipment rating, while keeping the THD of the current at the PCC within the agency specified standards. And their typical power circuit configuration limits the stress on individual devices to an appreciable extent. The main scope of this paper is the analysis of filter structure in paralleling inverter system's operation. Simulation results are shown to verify the theoretical analysis.

  • As the power system is more complex and power demands increase, the fault currents have the tendency of increasing gradually. In the near future it will happen that the fault currents exceed circuit breaker rating for some substations. In this paper, the resistive SFCL (Superconducting Fault Current Limiter) is installed at Bus-Tie location to reduce the fault current in korea power systems and evaluated technical and economical Impacts.

  • Active power factor correction methods for electronic ballast are reviewed in this paper. PFC technology becomes more important due to various wattage ratings of new light sources. Expecially, most popular two method critical conduction mode and average mode, are described. Each characteristics are compared in relation to application target and power rating.

  • With the fast diffusion of smart media, Webtoon has become popular contents among Korean people. Webtoon's content is being used in various content industries, such as movies and drama, and thus its cultural influence is increasing. Using ordinal Regression analysis, this study tried to find major factors affecting webtoon's success. This study found that readers' rating, number of likes, OSMU, author power, genre, picture style are important factors affecting the success of webtoon. This study has several business implications for the Korean webtoon industry.

  • This paper presents Kolmogorov-Smirnov, mean difference, AUROC and AR, four well known statistics that have been widely used for evaluating the discriminatory power of credit rating models. Criteria for these statistics are determined by the value of mean difference under the assumption of normality and equal standard deviation. Alternative criteria are proposed through the simulations according to various sample sizes, type II error rates, and the ratio of bads, also we suggest the meaning of statistic on the basis of discriminatory power. Finally we make a comparative study of the currently used guidelines and simulated results.

  • During an AC motor's start-up accelerating period, a large amount of current is required to reach to the rating speed. This is called in-rush current. This peak in-rush current can be more than about several times the operating or steady-state current in the full load rating of the motor. In-rush current is present in both and electronic ballasts. The main area of concern is the tripping of circuit breaker and fuses which can affect electrical system components From this, we can see that the electrical power controllers will be rather concerned, since they have to supply the actual current necessary to start the motor. This paper presents a new method to reducing in-rush current and energy saving of the single-phase induction motor used in air-conditioner. It can be obtained that proposed system is low cost and small size as compared with other controller. Experiments are focused on a capacitor starting single-phase induction motor. The optimal power saving and in-rush current limiting by phase angle control are verified by experimental results. Also, auxiliary winding was controlled by electronic starting switch.

  • In this paper, a new 24longleftarrowpulse diode rectifier system based upon the conventional series-connected 12-pulse rectifier is p proposed with the least number of switching devices and low VA rating of the additional passive components. The p proposed approach does not employ any active switching devices. Therefore, the system is rugged and simple to i implement. Detailed analysis with VA rating calculation of the components is presented and experimental results from a a 220V, 3kV A rectifier system verify the proposed concept.

  • Investigating electromagnetic emissions of inverter power sources for resistance welding existing special aspects of EMI measurements in the field of resistance welding machines resulting from the power rating and intermittent operation mode of these machines have to be taken into account. The characteristics of the internal switching processes determined by the behavior of the applied power semiconductors, snubber circuits and constructional aspects exert a great influence on the conducted emission of resistance welding inverters.

  • This paper presents a transfer capability enhancement process using VSC HVDC system which can control active power as well as reactive power. The transfer capability is constrained by stability like voltage stability as well as thermal rating of power system components. Transfer capability of the power system limited by these constraints may be enhanced by reactive power control ability and active power flow control ability of the VSC HVDC system. To enhance the transfer capability of the system using VSC HVDC, selection of the HVDC installation site is performed. In this work, power zones which consist of major power plants and their sinks are identified using power tracing and distribution factor. Alternative route of major AC transmission line in the power zone is identified as VSC HVDC system.

  • This paper proposes a new reliability evaluation for traction power system. The electric railway consists of traction power systems, various vehicles, operating equipment, track, overhead line and electric equipment. It is a fundamental function of traction power systems that supply customers with reasonable price, acceptable reliability and high quality power. In a general way, the power system reliability deals with the ability to satisfy load demands in supply capability or rating of every factor. On the other hand, the reliability of traction power systems has been focused on train time delay caused by power outage. In this paper, we make a selection optimum reliability indices for the reliability evaluation of electric traction power systems. The reliability study not only applies a plan for traction supply system after detecting the vulnerable point of existing traction supply systems but also makes a role in stable operating railway.
