The two main forms of myositis ossificans are congenital and acquired. Either form is rare in the head and neck region. The acquired form is often due to trauma, with bullying as a fairly common cause. This report of myositis ossificans of the platysma in an 11-year-old female patient emphasizes the need for a high index of suspicion in unexplainable facial swellings in children and the benefit of modern investigative modalities in their management.

This study was performed to investigate the resources flora of Mt. ManRoi(611.7m; 37$^{\circ}$51'N, 127$^{\circ}$ 20'E), during April 1995 to September 1998. The vascular plants, which were collected from the mountain were composed of all 382 taxa including cultivated species, and classified into 1 phylum, 4 classes, 34 orders, 87 families, 254 genera, 323 species, 1 subspecies,55 varieties and 4 forms. There were not rare and endangered species, while 7 taxa of Korean endemic plants, that is, Tricyitis dilatata, Clematis trichotoma, Deutzia coreana, Spiraea prunifolia var, simpliciflora, Forsythia koreana, Weigela subsessilis and Patrinia sanicalaefalia were distributed in this mountain. The vegetation of this investigated area is regarded as the boundary of the temperate middle part and temperate southern part in floral zone of the Korean Peninsula.

The increase in the productivity and the assurance of quality machining on the NC machines depends on, amongst other things, the perfection of the programming using adequate methods of interpolation. The programming language is until now based on the code ISO 6983 which defines the principles of the code G. This latter is not well adapted to the new strategies of machining imposed by the machining of complex surfaces and machining at high speed with the increasingly more severe requirements of precision. The CNC which adopt the interpolation of NURBS (Non Uniform Rational B-spline) are very rare (FANUC Siemens${\ldots}$). Based on the advantages of NURBS (continuity, flexibility, smoothing$.{\ldots}$), new formats G are currently developed but their use is still very limited. Our work consists on putting forward these new approaches of programming using the interpolation of NURBS. For this reason, a program capable to trace NURBS trajectories under Visual BASIC 6.0 was developed. This program was used thereafter in CAM software for the generation of NURBS formats like their new formats NC.

The Wegener's granulomatosis is a rare disease of unknown etiology characterized by ulcerative, necrotic lesion of the upper respiratory tract, progressive pulmonary and renal involvement, and death in a period six months. Relentless progression with rapid death resulting from renal involvement and failure is the usual outcome, but limited forms with confinement to the upper respiratory tract are seen. The authors, recently, have observed a case of Wegener's granulomatosis which was confirmed as pathologically, so present this case with a brief review of the literature.

Bronchopleural fistula (BPF) is relatively rare, but it has high morbidity and mortality rates and it is associated with a prolonged hospital stay and high costs. Surgical treatment is the treatment of choice, but other minimal invasive forms of conservative management, and particularly bronchoscopy, have recently been investigated. We report here on the bronchoscopic treatment of a bronchopleural fistula accompanied necrotizing pneumonia, and we used coils and fibrin glue to treat the fistula.

The transmuted generalized extreme value (TGEV) distribution was first introduced by Aryal and Tsokos (Nonlinear Analysis: Theory, Methods & Applications, 71, 401-407, 2009) and applied by Nascimento et al. (Hacettepe Journal of Mathematics and Statistics, 45, 1847-1864, 2016). However, they did not give explicit expressions for all the moments, tail behaviour, quantiles, survival and risk functions and order statistics. The TGEV distribution is a more flexible model than the simple GEV distribution to model extreme or rare events because the right tail of the TGEV is heavier than the GEV. In addition the TGEV distribution can adjusted various forms of asymmetry. In this article, explicit expressions for these measures of the TGEV are obtained. The tail behavior and the survival and risk functions were determined for positive gamma, the moments for nonzero gamma and the moment generating function for zero gamma. The performance of the maximum likelihood estimators (MLEs) of the TGEV parameters were tested through a series of Monte Carlo simulation experiments. In addition, the model was used to fit three real data sets related to financial returns.

Written as her last collaboration with the Provincetown Players, Susan Glaspell's The Verge is an exceptional play in that its formal experiment and modernist theme are clear of her general modernist ambivalence which combines a uniquely American and feminist expression of the modernist spirit with rather conventional forms. Following critics' brief and generalizing comments on the play's protagonist embodying modernist formalism and alienation, this paper offers a full and concrete survey detailing the tenets and the slogans of Modernism inlaid in the play. Its main argument is that Glaspell strategically deployed the metaphysics of egoism, anarchic hostility to the collectiveness of bourgeois society, and formalist preoccupation in Modernism in representing a female egoist's longing for a new order of society, illustrating an intersection between Modernism and feminism. It concludes that The Verge is an extremely rare case of modernist literature where a play, allegedly the least modernist genre of all according to Christopher Innes, exemplifies the "eloquent critical acts entangled in the creative work" which Michael Levenson lists as a distinct feature of modernist texts.

Structure in the universe forms hierarchically with the small scales forming first and merging into larger scales. Galaxy clusters are at the pinnacle of the formation process. Peering far into the universe, we can observe galaxy clusters early in their evolution. SpARCSJ1049+56 is a galaxy cluster located at a redshift of 1.71. It has been shown to be rich in cluster galaxies, to have intense star formation, and to have a significant amount of molecular gas. Through careful control of systematics, we detected the weak-lensing signal from this distant galaxy cluster. I will present our HST infrared weak-lensing detection of the cluster with a focus on the method. Our lensing analysis found that the cluster is massive and is rare in a LambdaCDM universe. I will also present the Chandra X-ray discovery of cold gas coincident with the intense star formation and discuss the implications of the detection.

This study was carried out to survey the vascular plants of Namhan River located in Chungju-si, and the period of survey was from June, 2010 to June, 2011. The results are as follows. The vascular plants distributed in Neungam, Mokgye and Jangcheon around Namhan river were summarized as 225 taxa including 52 families, 164 genera, 200 species, 23 varieties and 2 forms. The rare plant designated by Korea Forest Service was $Aristolochia$ $contorta$ Bunge, and the endemic plant was identified as $Salix$ $koriyanagi$ Kimura. The specific plants by floristic region were 7 taxa including $Salix$ $chaenomeloides$ Kimura, $Aristolochia$ $contorta$ Bunge, $Actinostemma$ $lobatum$ Maxim., $Artemisia$ $selengensis$ Turcz., $Cirsium$ $pendulum$ Fisch., $Alisma$ $plantago-aquatic$ var. $orientale$ Samuels. and $Carex$ $versicaria$ L.. The naturalized plants were 47 taxa including $Fallopia$ $dumetorum$ (L.) Holub., $Chenopoidum$ $album$ L., $Silene$ $armeria$ L., $Brassica$ $juncea$ (L.) Czern., $Melilotus$ $alba$ Medicus, $Trifolium$ $pratense$ L., $Oenothera$ $erythrosepala$ Borb$\acute{a}$s, $Ipomoea$ $hederacea$ var. $integriuscula$ A.Gray, $Bidens$ $frondosa$ L., $Matricaria$ $inodora$ L., $Xanthium$ $canadense$ Mill., $Panicum$ $dichotomiflorum$ Michx. and so forth. In life forms, megaphanerophytes (M) were 13 taxa, 13 taxa in nanophanerophytes (N), 14 taxa inchamaiphytes (Ch), 40 taxa in hemicryptophytes (H), 20 taxa in geophytes (G), 103 taxa in therophytes (Th) and 22 taxa in hydrophytes (HH). The ratios of the naturalized index (NI), the urbanized index (UI) and the disturbed index (DI) were 20.9%, 14.6% and 18.2% in all sites.

This study was carried out to offer the raw data for the conservation of plant ecosystem in Chungcheongbuk-do with systematic grasping the vascular plant in Mt. Midong and to establish the accurate countermeasure of conservation on the rare species as well as to restore their habitats. The vascular plant species in Mt. Midong were summarized as 303 taxa; 81 families, 215 genus, 262 species, 38 varieties and 3 forms. The rare plants designated by Korea Forestry Service were two taxa; Polygonatum stenophyllum, Hylomecon hylomeconoides. The nine taxa were recorded in the surveyed sites as the endemic plants; Melandryum seoulense, Hylomecon hylomeconoides, Spiraea prunifolia for. simpliciflora, Filipendula palmata var. glabra, Ajuga spectabilis, Weigela subsessilis, Lonicera coreana, Cirsium setidens and Saussurea seoulensis. And the naturalized plants were twelve taxa; Rumex crispus, Lepidium apetalum, Robinia pseudo-acacia, Tyifolium pratense, Trifolium repens, Hibiscus trionum, Oenothera odorata, Ambrosia artemisifolia var. elatior, Erigeron annuus, Erigeron canadensis, Taraxacum officinale and Sonchus oleraceus.
