Objectives : An accurate judgment of prognosis when treating diseases is crucial. While the 『Shanghanlun(傷寒論)』 deals with the prognosis of the Three Yin Diseases with great importance, full-scale studies have been lacking. This paper aims to study the Three Yin Diseases with a focus on prognosis analysis. Methods : Among the Three Yin Disease verses, those that could provide clues to prognosis were selected and analysed. Conclusions & Results : When Yang pulse patterns such as long(長脈)·floating(浮脈)·rapid(數脈) pulses and Yang symptoms such as fever, vexing heat, mild perspiration, thirst, warmth in hands and feet are present in Yin disease, it could be taken as signs of Yang Qi restoration. In these situations, Yin Cold pattern such as diarrhea and reversal cold disappear and the prognosis is positive. However, despite Yang pulse patterns and symptoms, there are cases where diarrhea happens as a result of cold dampness being eliminated due to Yang Qi restoration. Also, when Yang Qi starts communicating smoothly after its restoration in the Three Yin Diseases, perspiration can happen. When diarrhea and reversal cold, which are patterns of Yin Cold get worse, with pulse patterns such as unfelt(脈不至)·replete(實脈)·fulminating(脈暴出) pulses, false heat symptoms such as fever and hot flashes happen, accompanied with Yang Qi depleted symptoms such as inability to lie down due to agitation, continuous perspiration, sore throat, dyspnea, and exaggerated breathing happen. When fast pulse, fever, and perspiration are present due to depression and stagnation of ministerial fire, symptoms such as bloody stool with pus, purulent abscess, sore throat, and inability to lie down due to agitation show, which signal negative prognosis. In bad cases of Reverting Yin Disease, there is continuous diarrhea and bloody stool with pus, which can be due to either Kidney Yang deficiency or depression and stagnation of ministerial fire. It could also be caused by excessive heat.

We made a Korean white porcelain or Joseon Baekja jar and based on the raw materials used and reproductions of each stage, we aimed to compare and analyze the physicochemical changes of the raw materials such as clay at each manufacturing stage, as well as identify the characteristics and correlations. Although the basic main components of clay and glaze material are similar, their texture becomes denser in the process of bisque firing pottery (Chobeol-pyeon) and glaze firing pottery (Jaebeol-pyeon), and we confirmed that in addition to the tendency of increasing vitrification, low-temperature minerals such as mica and illite gradually disappeared, while high-temperature minerals such as cristobalite were newly created. This phenomenon has also been verified by the rapid decrease in absorption rate while the change in specific gravity was small. In addition, the color was greatly affected by the firing atmosphere, and the yellow-red chromaticity of the raw materials was higher during bisque firing but showed a rapidly decreasing characteristic during glaze firing. The value of magnetic susceptibility, which is related to iron (Fe) component, showed a tendency to decrease in glaze firing pottery. CT images were confirmed as a method that can indirectly estimate the change in the material properties of the object step-by-step for the entire object. In conclusion, the study of manufacturing stages of reproduction can provide basic data for scientific research on the estimation of porcelain and pottery making technology and changes in raw materials.

Biological damages of wooden cultural properties are closely related to the preservation of the environment; these damages can be accelerated because of rapid climate change. Therefore, to preserve cultural properties, it is important to understand environmental characteristics. This study aims to investigate the status of termite damage and the characteristics of major environmental factors such as micro-meteorology, meso-meteorology, and local-meteorology of the Josadang shrine in the Seonamsa temple at Suncheon. Damage was confirmed by visual observation and the response of the termite detection dog at the north-west corner. Also another damage was observed by the termite detection dog at the north-east corner. These pillars had lower surface temperature and higher moisture content compared with the pillars in the front. The mean temperature of the entire time was similar for the meteorologies; however, the relative humidity differed. High relative humidity, greater than 70%, was observed frequently. In particular, it was determined that the termite activity days were the most inside the Josadang shrine. The statistical analysis confirmed that there was a difference between the meteorology events through the F ratio. In addition, the difference of environmental factors with relative humidity and temperature was identified more great difference in relative humidity through the t-statistics of temperature and relative humidity. And then relative humidity was confirmed most great in the difference of meso-meteorology and local-meteorology.
The rapid industrialization since the 1960s has caused considerable changes in the appearance of Korean cities. The huge demand and cityward tendency derived from the increase of population with such the expansion from 9 millions in 1960 to 43 millions in 2003, have resulted in number of problems such as the falling-off in the quality of life, amenity, and safety. And above all, the urban identities is not to be found obviously in the cities. With regard to these problems, the re-creation of cities should be emphasized to make environmental, economical, and social improvements and to restore human-oriented activities. In the course of making new improvements cities need to preserve the characteristics and maintain the concordance with their environments. In other words, the restoration of cities ought to be made in the aspect of continuity, which means the accession of genetic factors inherent in cities. In this background, concerning about the system on apartment house especially relating to environmentally sound restoration and comparing with that of Japan, this study proposes the direction needed in the development of urban space.

Recently, in forest areas of Gyeonggi-Do where golf courses are developed indiscriminately due to the rapid increase in demand, two and three golf courses are being concentrated and combined to develop and it's occurring lots of problems. This study therefore, aims to examine their problems and propose environment-friendly improvements of combined development, by analyzing laws related to golf course's location and the current location status. The results of this study are as followings; Firstly, when analyzing related laws, it was found that unified standards should be established in relation to regulation of the external conditions of golf course sites and individual index. Secondly, standards of a proper separated distance are needed, when developing golf courses. Thirdly, we need to preferentially preserve areas where should be protected environmentally, and establish criteria approving golf courses built close to the boundary of a buffer area only, by introducing the concepts of a buffer area based on the UNESCO MAB. Lastly, we have to set up criteria considering Network elements for maintaining the connectivity of the ecosystem.

The community of common reed (Phragmites australis) is expanded by the development of new shoots from nodes of rhizomes and old shoots in natural environments. We developed the useful technique to construct reed mats of floating islands developed from shoot nodes of reeds for the purpose of the rapid stabilization of vegetation and the application of adapted plants with their specific environmental conditions. The vegetation development was compared in the floating islands planted with the different reed samples. The reed samples were consisted of four types : long shoot in the length of 100 cm (AG I), short shoot of 15 cm (AG II), long rhizome of 100 cm (BG I) and short rhizome of 15 cm (BG II). Shooting started earlier in BG I and BG II than in AG I and AG II. But the rate of shooting was higher in AG I and AG II than in BG I and BG II. After four weeks, AG I and AG II were higher than BG I and BG II in the biomass and density of newly developed shoots. These results showed that the construction of sod mats by planting only reed shoots was a useful technique to develop vegetation on the floating islands.

Ecological corridor is the facility to connect two habitats fragmented by roads, dam, housing and industrial area. Critics of faunal corridors have suggested that they are simply an untested application of unproved island biogeography theory. But, everyone agree that ecological corridor is important useful structural components that help animal movement in fragmented landscapes. There are 52 ecological corridors in Korea. We investigated 43 ecological corridors of these and recorded the size of corridor, planting species, management and growth condition. We compared planting species to nearby exiting vegetation species and structure. We found that there are no considerations for many aspects of planting, for example, planting species, structure, animal migration and behavior, surrounding vegetation etc. Expecially, It was ignored management of plants, difference of surrounding vegetation, lacks of diverse planting species and structure. We suggest planting the native species of tall tree, shrub and ground cover, edge planting for transitional space between road and natural habitat, planting for foraging and breeding of target animal, diverse layer vegetation, and open space of center for rapid animal dispersal.

Rapid urbanization has transformed the spatial pattern of urban land use or cover. This paper concentrates that changed characteristics of landscape structure in the Tancheon Watershed, from 1995 to 2003 were investigated using land cover map. We used FRAGSTATS software to calculate landscape indices to characterize the landscape structure. We found that built up area has been increased rapidly during the study period, while cultivated area and forest area have been decreased rapidly in the same period. From 1995 to 2003, built up area was increased from 19.73% to 39.62% and cultivated area and forest area was decreased 17.60% to 5.97% and 58.31% to 49.41%. Number of patches, mean euclidean nearest-neighbor distance, contagion index, Shannon's diversity index increased considerably from 1995 to 2003, also suggesting the landscape in the study area became more fragmented and heterogeneous. but because of continuously fragmentation, landscape became homogeneity. The study demonstrates that landscape metrics can be a useful indicator in landscape monitoring and landscape assessment.
To evaluate the effect of the 4 major rivers restoration project in the Nakdong River to water quality of the river, the Environmental Fluid Dynamics Code (EFDC) and Water Quality Analysis Simulation Program (WASP), are applied in series. Results showed overall decrease in biochemical oxygen demand ($BOD_5$) concentrations and increase in chlorophyll-a concentrations, while total nitrogen and total phosphorous concentrations did not show significant changes, relatively. Decrease in $BOD_5$ concentrations seems to be influenced by an increased hydraulic residence time, which may allow more time for the degradation of organic material. Changes in Chlorophyll-a (Chl-a) concentration, due to the project were more significant for the upper stream areas that show relatively low Chl-a concentration ranges (less than 20 g/L). After the introduction of the Geumho River in the middle part of the Nakdong River, rapid growth of phytoplankton was observed. However, in this middle part of the Nakdong River, the ratio of Chl-a concentration change are less significant, compared to the upper stream areas, due to the project. In the lower stream area, Chl-a concentration decreased after the project. This seems to be resulted from the decreased light availability, due to increased depth, while the nutrient concentrations have been high enough to support phytoplankton growth.

Because of various stresses with rapid change of social structure, the number of the disabled increase steadily. So, the interest of touch garden which the disabled interact with nature and communicate with the non-disabled is more in demand. This study carried out a survey for landuse, facilities, therapeutic garden in creating touch gardens targeting the disabled using them. The results are as follows: At first, the appropriate natural facilities can lead return visit of the disabled. The second, general facilities for information and barrier-free are insufficient. The third, the disabled demand more places for sense of touch and vision, and, also they demand more places for feeling various living things and sense of the season. And the last, the disabled have no experience in therapeutic gardens, but they have consensus for creating special places for the disabled. This study carried out a survey for specially designated user such as the disabled, but through it, it is expected to establish developed design guidelines for creating touch gardens and therapeutic gardens.
