CALS구현을 위한 FCIM 시스템의 IDEF0 모델 (IDEF0 Models of the FCIM System for CALS Implementation)

  • This paper presents the results of the systems analysis for the FCIM (Flexible Computer Integrated Manufacturing) system at the U.S. Tobyhanna Army Repair Depot, which is one of the RAMP (Rapid Acquisition of Manufactured Part) program sites for CALS implementation in the U.S. military. The FCIM system's acquisition and supply processes are represented by IDEFO function models and FCIM information systems are briefly decribed in this paper. The models presented here can be used at a reference for the development of CALS acquisition and supply systems. In addition. the distinction between input and control information on the IDEFO model it suggested from the practical modeling viewpoint.

다중경로 채널 환경에서 Noncoherent UWB 시스템을 위한 고속 고신뢰의 동기획득 기법 (Rapid and Reliable Signal Acquisition Scheme for Noncoherent UWB Systems in Multipath Channel)

  • In this paper, we propose to extend the TSS-LS (Two-Step Search scheme with Linear search based Second step) scheme which was already proposed by the authors for coherent UWB (Ultra Wide Band) systems, to rapid and reliable acquisition of noncoherent UWB systems in multipath channels. The proposed noncoherent TSS-LS employing simple energy window banks utilizes two different thresholds and search windows to achieve fast acquisition. Furthermore, the linear search is adopted for the second step in the proposed scheme to correctly find the starting point in the range of effective delay spread of the multipath channels, and to obtain reliable BER (Bit Error Rate) performance of the noncoherent UWB systems. Simulation results show that the proposed TSS-LS can achieve significant reduction of the required mean acquisition time as compared to general search schemes. In addition, the proposed scheme achieves quite good BER performance, which is favorably comparable to the case of ideal perfect timing.

  • Techniques to rapidly model local spaces, using 3D range data can enable implementation of: (1) real-time obstacle avoidance for improved safety, (2) advanced automated equipment control modes, and (3) as-built data acquisition for improved quantity tracking, engineering, and project control systems. The objective of the research reported here was to introduce current rapid local modeling techniques and develop rapid local spatial modeling tools.

  • The Israeli military's track record boasts victories in four Middle East wars and numerous counter-terrorism battles. This can be attributed to the implementation of a flexible defense acquisition system, allowing for the rapid acquisition of cutting-edge weaponry in response to ever-changing enemy vulnerabilities. If Korea were to adopt the defense acquisition system employed by the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) it has the potential to transform into a small but strong country, mirroring the accomplishments of the IDF.

고속 고신뢰의 UWB 신호 동기획득을 위한 향상된 두 단계 탐색 기법 (Enhanced Two-Step Search Scheme for Rapid and Reliable UWB Signal Acquisition)

  • 본 논문에서는 다중경로 채널 환경의 초광대역 (Ultra Wide Band; UWB) 시스템에서 고속 고신뢰의 동기획득을 위한 향상된 두 단계 신호 탐색 기법인 TSS-LS(Two-Step Search scheme with the Linear search based Second step) 를 제안한다. 제안된 TSS-LS는 기존에 본 저자들이 제안하였던 TSS-BS (Two-Step Search scheme with the Bit reversal search based Second step)와 견줄만한 매우 빠른 동기획득 성능을 달성할 수 있도록 Single-Dwell 연속 동기탐색 기법에 기초하고 있으며 두 개의 다른 임계값과 탐색창을 적용한다. 반면, 제안된 TSS-LS는 UWB 시스템에서 통기획득의 고신뢰성을 보장하기 위해 두번째 단계에서 Bit Reversal 탐색 알고리즘을 사용하는 TSS-BS와는 달리 Linear 탐색 알고리즘을 적용하게 된다. IEEE 802.15.3a의 UWB 다중경로 채별 환경에서의 모의실험 결과, 일반적인 탐색 기법보다 본 논문에서 제안된 두 단계 탐색 기법의 정규화된 평균 동기획득 소요 시간이 큰 폭으로 향상됨을 확인할 수 있었다. 특히, 신호 동기획득 과정과 연동된 비트오율 성능 평가에서 제안된 TSS-LS 기법의 경우 높은 신호대 잡음비에 대해 이상적인 성능에 필적하는 매우 우수한 성능을 보임을 확인할 수 있었다.

  • In this paper, we propose a new and cost-effective RCP (Rapid Control Prototyping) system based on Matlab/Simulink and a DAQ (Data Acquisition) unit with the high speed USB communication interface. The proposed RCP system has a feature that a computer on which Simulink is running acts as a realtime controller and a DAQ unit performs data acquisition, transmission of the data to and from a computer, and the application of control data received from the computer. For its implementation, we develop 10 communication blocks each of which is constructed by using S-function. In order to increase the data communication speed and thus to reduce the sampling period of the overall control system, we propose to use a batch transfer strategy through the USB interface. The proposed RCP system has several advantages over existing methods such as good maintainability, portability due to the USB interface, low cost, and no necessity for C-code generation even though it can only be applied to control systems with moderate sampling rates. It is expected that the proposed RCP system can be useful in teaching control-related topics to undergraduate and graduate students.

고로슬래그의 분말도 신속평가 및 분말도가 시멘트 모르타르의 특성에 미치는 영향 (Rapid Evaluation Method for Blast Furnace Slag Fineness and Influence of Fineness on Properties of Cement Mortar)

  • In this research, regarding the type three blast furnace slag (BS) regulated by KS F 2563 and supplied to actual ready mixed concrete plant, the fineness on specification and actually measured fineness by Blain test were compared, and by applying the hydrometer method used for early prediction of concrete strength, the feasibility of the hydrometer method for acquisition inspection of BS was analyzed. Additionally, the influence of various fineness of BS on properties of cement mortar was also assessed. According to the experimental results of this research, correlation of fineness values between specification and actually measured data were not matched. In the case of the rapid evaluation method using hydrometer, a good relation was shown between the fineness data obtained from hydrometer and Blain test. furthermore, from the cement mortar properties test, there was a good relation was obtained between fineness data from rapid evaluation method by hydrometer and cement mortar properties, while there was no clear relation between fineness data from specification and cement mortar properties. Hence, as a qulity controlling method of BS fineness, a rapid evaluation method using hydrometer is suggested as a new method.

실내 무선 환경에서 UWB 시스템을 위한 고속 두 단계 동기 획득 알고리즘 (A Rapid Two-Step Acquisition Algorithm for UWB Systems in Indoor Wireless Channels)

  • 본 논문에서는 전형적인 실내 무선 채널 환경에서 초광대역 (Ultra Wide Band; UWB) 신호의 고속 동기 획득을 위한 두 단계 (Two-Step) 탐색 기법을 제안한다. 제안된 두 단계 탐색 기법은 Bit Reversal 탐색 알고리즘을 이용한 Single-Dwell 연속 동기 탐색 기법에 기초하고 있으며, 하나의 상관기에 연속적으로 두 개의 다른 임계값과 탐색창 (Search Window)을 적용한다. IEEE 802.15 Task Group 3a UWB 실내 무선 채널 환경에서의 모의실험 결과, 기존의 Single-Dwell Bit Reversal 탐색 알고리즘 뿐 아니라 두 개의 상관기를 이용하는 복잡한 구조의 Double-Dwell Bit Reversal 탐색 알고리즘보다도 제안된 두 단계 탐색 기법의 정규화된 평균 동기 획득 소요 시간이 은 폭으로 향상됨을 확인할 수 있었다. 특히, 제안 .기법은 잡음이 인가된 환경에서도 빠르고 신뢰성 있는 동기 획득 성능을 보임을 확인하였다.

  • 기지국간 비동기방식을 사용하는 CDMA 이동통신 방식에서는 handoff시 초기동기 획득시간이 빠른 초기동기 획득방식이 요구되므로 정합필터를 사용하는 초기동기획득 방식이 고려될 수 있다. Rayleigh fading 채널에서 non coherent QPSK/DS-SS방식으로 신호를 수신하는 model에서 정합필터방식으로 초기동기획득을 위해 소요되는 평균 초기동기 획득시간은 직렬상관방식에 비해 정합필터의 길이에 비례하여 단축됨을 분석하였다. 그러나, 종래의 정합필터 방식이 초기동기획득시간은 단축되지만 HW복잡도로 인한 구현상의 단점을 보완하기위해 본 논문에서는 기억소자를 이용한 HW 재사용에 의해 상관 연산을 반복해서 할 수 있는 설계방안을 제시하므로써 기존 정합필터의 HW복잡도를 정합필터 분할 길이 만큼 줄일 수 있도록 하였고, Altera MAXPlus Ⅱ FPGA로 simulation하므로써 기능을 입증하였다.

고차 모델을 사용한 광대역 통신 시스템의 새로운 고속 동기화 기법 (High Order Template Scheme for Rapid Acquisition in the UWB Communication System)

  • The low power of ultra-wideband (UWB) signal makes the acquisition of UWB signal be a more challenging task. In this paper, we propose the method of high order template signal technique that reduces the synchronization time. Experimental results are presented to show the improvements of performance in the mean acquisition time (MAT) and the probability of detection. The performance compared with the serial search, the truly random search and the random permutation search. It is shown that over typical UWB multipath channels, a random permutation search scheme may yield lower MAT than serial search.
