  • Virtual reality(VR) is the technology that makes a user regard being in virtual space generated by computer as in the real world. Mainly, it has been studied about the three senses which are the sense of vision, touch and hearing in the five human senses. Through that, it is applied to the system making all the senses in the human body real. Even though the design idea of theater is brought to that of simulation theater, there are not many similarities between them and not general design rules yet. For making a better situation, in cooperation with a domestic company making a motion simulator for one or two person by itself, I have considered the minimum conditions and formations of the simulation theater being widely useful in the buildings of general commercial spaces from the environmental viewpoint, and basing on that facts I try to make some sorts of fundamental design types so that they are more available than those in the past. In this research, I have set the three types of simulation theater, the 50 seats of motion simulator for one person, the 20 seats of motion simulator and the 50 seats for two persons, in my researching range. Moreover, regarding the size of the simulation theater, I put the best specifications in order and also put them together, and then with making standards able to be reflected on the design plan, I have researched it for the purpose of the accumulation of skill in the construction of the special theater. Here, the design rule I suggested might be a design standard that it will be thought useful widely.

  • Climate change and urbanization have affected a increase of peak discharge and water pollution etc. In a view of these aspects, the LID(Low Impact Development) technology has been highlighted as one of adjustable control measures to mimic predevelopment hydrologic condition. Many LID technologies have developed, but there is a lack of studies with verification of LID technology efficiency. Therefore this study developed a rainfall-runoff simulator could be possible to verify LID technology efficiency. Using this simulator, this study has experimented the rainfall verification through the rainfall distribution experiment and the experiment to show the relation between inflow and effective rainfall in order to sprinkle the equal rainfall in each unit bed. As a result, the study defined the relation between allowable discharge range and RPM by nozzle types and verified the hydrologic cycle such as the relation between infiltration rate, surface runoff and subsurface runoff at pervious area and impervious area through the rainfall-runoff experiment.

  • Macromodeling technology is useful to simulate and analyze the performance of new elements and complicated circuits or systems without any changes in today's general simulator, PSPICE. In this paper, Phase Locked Loop(PLL) is designed using macromodeling technique. The PLL macromodel has two basic sub-macromodels of the phase detector and the voltage controlled oscillator(VCO). The PLL macromodel has two open terminals for inserting RC low pass filter. The PLL macromodel is simulated using simulation parameters of LM565CN manufactured in the National company. At a free-running frequency, 2500Hz, upper lock range and lower capture range was 437Hz, 563Hz, respectively. Also, experimental results and simulation results of LM565CN PLL show good agreement.

  • This paper presents the quantitative evaluation of the fearfulness of the human driver in the case of the short range (time) on the highway. The driving situation is realized by using the driving simulator based on CAVE, which provides three-dimensional stereoscopic immersive visual information. The examinees' responses and personal information are categorized reasonably by applying the competitive learning algorithm. The characteristics of each group are analyzed. The following two situations are also compared: (1) the active approaching situation where the examinee drives the vehicle near the preceding vehicle, and (2) the passive approaching situation where the preceding vehicle nears the examinee's vehicle by gradually decelerating. The range time that the examinee feels fear in the active approaching case tends to be shorter than that in the passive approaching case.

  • The analysis of hole injection efficiency at the p+/n-drift layer junction in non-punchthrough IGBT structure is presented. This analysis takes into account carrier concentration variations by conductivity modulation. Good agreement between this analysis and simulation is found over a wide range of carrier lifetime and current density. The proposed analytical model of the hole injection efficiency as a function of collector width, collector concentration has been verified by device simulator, ATLAS.

  • Recently, the trend of zero emissions has increased in automotive engineering because of environmental problems and regulations. Therefore, the development of battery electric vehicles (EVs), hybrid/plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs/PHEVs), and fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEVs) has been mainstreamed. In particular, for light-duty electric vehicles, improvement in electric motor performance is directly linked to driving range and driving performance. In this paper, using an improved design for the interior permanent magnet synchronous motor (IPMSM), the EV driving range for the light-duty EV was extended. In the electromagnetic design process, a 2D finite element method (FEM) was used. Furthermore, to consider mechanical stress, ANSYS Workbench was adopted. To conduct a vehicle simulation, the vehicle was modeled to include an electric motor model, energy storage model, and regenerative braking. From these results, using the advanced vehicle simulator (ADVISOR) based on MATLAB Simulink, a vehicle simulation was performed, and the effects of the improved design were described.

  • Ladar (Laser Detection And Ranging, Lidar) is a sensor to acquire precise distances to the surfaces of target region using laser signals, which can be suitably applied to ATD (Automatic Target Detection) for guided missiles or aerial vehicles recently. It provides a range image in which each measured distance is expressed as the brightness of the corresponding pixel. Since the precise 3D models can be generated from the Ladar range image, more robust identification and recognition of the targets can be possible. If we simulate the data of Ladar sensor, we can efficiently use this simulator to design and develop Ladar sensors and systems and to develop the data processing algorithm. The purposes of this study are thus to simulate the signals of a Ladar sensor based on linear frequency modulation and to create range images from the simulated Ladar signals. We first simulated the laser signals of a Ladar using FM chirp modulator and then computed the distances from the sensor to a target using the FFT process of the simulated signals. Finally, we created the range image using the distances set.

  • Purpose: CT scan range is insufficient for various reasons in head and neck Tomotherapy®. To solve that problem, Re-CT simulation is good because CT scan range affects accurate dose calculations, but there are problems such as increased exposure dose, inconvenience, and a change in treatment schedule. We would like to evaluate the minimum CT scan range required by changing the plan setup parameter of the existing CT scan range. Materials and methods: CT Simulator(Discovery CT590 RT, GE, USA) and In House Head & Neck Phantom are used, CT image was acquired by increasing the image range from 0.25cm to 3.0cm at the end of the target. The target and normal organs were registered in the Head & Neck Phantom and the treatment plan was designed using ACCURAY Precision®. Prescription doses are Daily 2.2Gy, 27 Fxs, Total Dose 59.4Gy. Target is designed to 95%~107% of prescription dose and normal organ dose is designed according to SMC Protocol. Under the same treatment plan conditions, Treatment plans were designed by using five methods(Fixed-1cm, Fixed-2.5cm, Fixed-5cm, Dynamic-2.5cm Dynamic-5cm) and two pitches(0.43, 0.287). The accuracy of dose delivery for each treatment plan was analyzed by using EBT3 film and RIT(Complete Version 6.7, RIT, USA). Results: The accurate treatment plan that satisfying the prescribed dose of Target and the tolerance dose in normal organs(SMC Protocol) require scan range of at least 0.25cm for Fixed-1cm, 0.75cm for Fixed-2.5cm, 1cm for Dynamic-2.5cm, and 1.75cm for Fixed-5cm and Dynamic-5cm. As a result of AnalysisAnalysis by RIT. The accuracy of dose delivery was less than 3% error in the treatment plan that satisfied the SMC Protocol. Conclusion: In case of insufficient CT scan range in head and neck Tomotherapy®, It was possible to make an accurate treatment plan by adjusting the FW among the setup parameter. If the parameter recommended by this author is applied according to CT scan range and is decide whether to re-CT or not, the efficiency of the task and the exposure dose of the patient are reduced.

  • This paper proposes a control method for maintaining the energy level for a supercapacitor energy storage system coupled with a wind generator to stabilize wind power output. Although wind power is green and clean energy source, disadvantage of the renewable energy output power is fluctuation. In order to mitigate the fluctuating output power, supercapacitor energy storage system (SCESS) and wind power simulator is developed. A remaining energy supercapacitor (RESC) control is introduced and analyzed to smooth for short-term fluctuating power and maintain the supercapacitor voltage within the designed operating range in the steady as well as transient state. When the average and fluctuating component of power increases instantaneously, the RESC compensates fluctuating power and the variation of fluctuating power is reduced 100% to 30% at 5kW power. Furthermore, supercapacitor voltage is maintained within the operating voltage range and near 50% of total energy. Feasibility of SCESS with RESC control is verified through simulation and experiment.

  • Fixed-point optimization utility software that can aid scaling and wordlength determination of digital signal processign algorithms written in C or C$\^$++/ language is developed. This utility consists of two programs: the range estimator and the fixed-point simulator. The former estimates the ranges of floating-point variables for automatic scaling purpose, and the latter translates floating-point programs into fixed-point equivalents for evaluating te fixed-point performance by simulation. By exploiting the operator overloading characteristics of C$\^$++/ language, the range estimation and the fixed-point simulation can be conducted just by modifying the variable declaration of the original program. This utility is easily applicable to nearly all types of digital signal processing programs including non-linear, time-varying, multi-rate, and multi-dimensional signal processing algorithms. In addition, this software can be used for comparing the fixed-point characteristics of different implementation architectures.
