Wrist Motion in Computer Keyboard Typing

  • The purpose of this study is to define how wrist motion is affected by different postures and supporting devices and to discover functional range of wrist motion for keyboard typing. The range of wrist motion (ROM) needed for fourteen experienced typists to type on a computer keyboard was measured by flexible and biaxial electrogoniometers. The most frequent wrist motion during typing was in extended and ulnarly deviated positions in both wrists. Range of wrist motion was similar in both wrists. The average ROM for keyboard typing with the typists' own posture was about 39 in flexion/extension (FEM) and 29 in radial/ulnar deviation (RUD) in both wrists. The range of wrist motion was significantly reduced to 30 in FEM and 27 in RUD with use of either wrist or forearm supporting devices, which suggests that these devices might help to relieve fatigue, discomfort, or pain during and/or after typing. Results of this study will be of interest to clinicians and helpful to those who are professionally or non-professionally involved in typing.

  • Dedicated Short-Range Communication은 단거리 무선 고속 패킷 통신 기능을 제공하며, 신뢰성, 안전한 데이터 전송 및 낮은 대기 시간으로 인해 Road Safety Application에서 널리 사용되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 SDN의 분산 컨트롤러를 이용하여 DSRC 통신을 제어하는 방식을 제안하였다. 제안한 기법을 실용화한다면 차량을 기반으로 한 실시간 교통 정보 수집이 보다 효과적으로 이루어질 것으로 기대된다.

Design of Emergency Destruction System for Long-range Surface-to-Air Missile Flight Test (장거리 대공 유도탄 비행 시험을 위한 안전종료판단시스템 설계)

  • An Emergency Destruction System is inevitable for ensuring safety both at sea and in populated areas, particularly during emergency detonations triggered by abnormal missile flight or upon mission completion. This paper introduces a novel method for developing an Emergency Destruction System capable of precisely calculating the Instantaneous Impact Point(IIP) during high-speed, maneuverable long-range surface-to-air missile flight tests. The Emergency Destruction System designed for long-range surface-to-air missile flight tests generates impact position tables that meticulously incorporate wind errors and navigation equations based on the Earth's ellipsoidal model. Factors such as the Coriolis effect and the direction of the gravitational acceleration vector are accounted for, significantly enhancing the accuracy of IIP determination amidst highly variable missile speed and attitude.

  • To remove NO from flue gas, a direct decomposition method to $N_2$ and $O_2$ was investigated by using copper / zeolite catalyst. The copper ion-exchanged HY type zeolite has high activity on NO decomposition. The decomposition activity was increased with the increase of ion-exchange level, contacting time and reaction temperature in the range of 30$0^{\circ}C$ -50$0^{\circ}C$ , and decreased with the oxygen addition.

  • The lower flash points and upper flash points of 2-propanol and toluene mixtures were determined by air-blowing method instead of Tag-closed flash point tester. The relations between the flash points and the composition of the mixtures are as follows, $T_{F.L}=4.3182+6.0909X_1$ $T_{F.U}=39.3636-2.9091X_1$ As results, the experimental data and the estimated values from the relations are considerably agreed, and we could plotted the relative diagram between flash points and the explosive range.

  • A new technique for the measurement of surface roughness based on the intensity fluctuations of laser light backscattered from a moving surface has been introduced. This paper reports a method of measuring surface roughness using coherent optics and interferometry. Included are both the theory of the technique and experimental verification. The range of surface roughness which can be accurately measured by this method is also reported.

  • The performance of Li-ion system based on $LiCoO_2$ and Graphite is well optimized for the 3C applications. The charge-discharge mode, the manufacturing process, the cell performance and the thermal reactions affecting safety has been explained in the engineering point of view. The energy density of the current LIB system is in the range of 300~400 Wh/l. In order to achieve the energy density higher than 500 Wh/l, the active materials should be modified or changed. Adopting new high capacity anode materials would be effective to improve energy density.

  • 부산 실내사격장 화재의 사격실 내 폭발의 원인을 추정하고 안전대책을 강구하기 위해 화재 시뮬레이션과 외국 실내사격장 화재의 사례조사를 수행하였다. 사격실 내의 폭발원인은 다공성 계란판형 폴리우레탄 흡음재와 흡음재에 축적된 잔류화약 분말의 격렬한 연소로 추정되었다. 실내사격장의 안전대책으로 폴리우레탄 흡음재의 사용금지, 잔류화약의 제거와 철저한 관리, 금연, 탄자받이 주위의 강재 요소 제거, 효율적 환기 등이 요구된다.

Deterministic Fracture Mechanics Analysis of Pressurized Thermal Shock

  • An analysis program for the evaluation of pressure vessel integrity under pressurized thermal shock (PTS) is developed. For given material properties and transient history such as temperature and pressure, the stress distribution is calculated and then stress intensity factors are obtained for a wide range of crack sizes. The stress intensity factors are compared with the fracture toughness to check if cracking is expected to occur during the transient. Using this program a round robin problem of PTS during a small break loss of coolant transient has been analyzed as a part of the international comparative assessment study. The allowable maximum reference nil-ductility transition temperatures are determined for various crack sizes.
