대차 프레임의 건전성평가를 위한 초음파신호 후처리기 시뮬레이터 구축 (Post-processor Simulator Construction of Ultrasonic Signals for Integrity Evaluation of Railway Truck)

  • This study proposes the post-processor simulator construction of ultrasonic signal for integrity evaluation of railway truck. For these purposes, the ultrasonic signals for defects(crack) of weld zone in frames are acquired in the type of time series data and echo strength. The detection of the natural defects in railway truck is performed using the characteristics of echodynamic pattern in ultrasonic signal. The constructed post-processor simulator agree fairly well with the measured results of test block(defect location, beam propagation distance, echo strength, etc). Proposed post-processor simulator construction of ultrasonic in this study can be used for the integrity evaluation of railway truck.

  • The truck frame of railway vehicle is important structure supporting the various loadings during running on the railway. The verification of sufficient strength on truck frame is essential in case of EMU carrying many people. To verify the safety of truck frame, the actual loading conditions should be considered ast design stage. This paper is describing that the development procedure of truck frame and bolster changed from existing casting frame to new welded frame for New-York EMU, also introducing the design regulations for new welded truck frame. Additionally the dynamic accelerations on the truck were measured to insure the actual loadings on service running condition, and the procedure and results of this test are described in this paper.

  • As the public use part of the railway and the road, the railway crossing is important to work properly by two transportation means. Also, It is important to provide the good face of friction on the railway crossing in aspect of protecting the railway crossing accident. Lately, Many kinds of the material are used for railway crossing panel. As they have a various fault, it was studied to analyze the structural action of the new material, rubber panel. This paper analyzed stress and displacement by truck passing weight using the Finite Element Modeling.

  • In light of the growing traffic congestion problem and congestion cost, the container transport by railway has to be increased. The freight transport by railway can have decided advantages over trucks in terms of energy efficiency, emissions and cost for certain freight movements, just as transportation in the metropolitan region can have great advantages over driving truck. But the freight transport by truck should gain significant mobility benefits from a freight railway system. Thus, the DMT(Dual Mode Trailer) transport system which is coupled railway transport advantages with load transport advantages has been developed and used in the european countries. The DMT transport will therefore serve the areas required by transport organizers. This paper describes the various DMT transport systems and its strength and weakness.

  • The objective of this project is to get the qualification for participation in any procurement conducted by NYCT by proving Hyundai-Rotem's capability of truck development according to NYCT Pre-Qualification program. The scope of the PQ program is to develop the new fabricated truck from NYCT's old-fashioned casting truck and to operate the new fabricated truck in normal NYCT passenger service during 1 year. In this paper, the characteristics of the new fabricated truck in terms of design, manufacture and tests criteria are mainly introduced comparing with the domestic and European-style trucks.

The DMT transport will therefore serve the areas required by transport organizers. The purpose of this paper is to estimate economical feasibility analysis for development of DMT transport system. Consequently, this study analyzed the characteristics of the DMT system. The horizontal load.unload system is being considered as an adoptable DMT system in consideration of the situation in Korea.

  • In this paper, the performance improvement of a decentralized brake system for railway rolling stocks is investigated. In order to verify the effectiveness of the decentralized brake system, it is compared to the truck unit brake system which has only one control unit per a truck. The adaptive sliding mode control scheme is used to realize a robust anti-slip brake control system. Through computer simulations, it is verified that the decentralized brake system has better braking performance than the truck unit brake system.

철도적용에서 구동장치의 피로강도에 관한 시험적 연구 (Experimental Study on the Fatigue Strength of a Running Equipment in Railway Applications)

  • The truck that is used as running equipment for tank freight car support is a core structural part that supports the load of the car body and significantly influences the safety of freights and vehicles, as well as their running performance. Running equipment is composed of truck frames, wheels and wheel axles, independent suspensions, and brakes. Among these components, the truck frame supporting the load of the vehicles and freights may be the most important component. This study was carried out to analyze the structure of truck frames and to determine whether they are safe when the maximum vertical load, braking part load, and the front and rear load are applied to truck frames. This was achieved by subjecting the truck frames to stress tests and then measuring the stress on each part. The results of the stress tests showed that truck frames have a safe vehicle load design.

  • The Hyundai Rotem company is due to be conducted the main line Speed Qualification Test as regulated by CFR for SEPTA EMU and SCRRA Bi-level coach project. The regulated test items per 49CFR213.345 are wheel/rail interaction forces and carbody/truck accelerations during running on main line. Therefore the special two sets of instrumented wheelset (IWS) per each project have been made for measuring the interaction forces between wheel and rail at four wheels of one truck during running on main line. In this paper, regarding Speed Qualification Test, the required test items and data analysis method per 49CFR213.345 and the preparation status of instrumented wheelsets (IWS) are introduced.
