철도차량 1차현가 특성에 따른 윤축 조향각 성능 분석 (Wheelset Steering Angle of Railway Vehicle according to Primary Suspension Property)

  • In this paper, we studied the steering performance of wheelset with primary suspension characteristics of railway vehicle. We carry out dynamic analysis and experimental study for the vehicle models which are different primary suspension characteristics. The steering angle of a vehicle model (Case 1) operating in domestic subway lines is insufficient compared with an objective steering angle for curved track. And the steering angle of a vehicle model (Case 2) with improved self-steering performance of wheelset is a little improved compare to previous vehicle model. But also Case 2 model is still insufficient compared with an objective steering angle and has its limit in steering performance. So to overcome this limit of steering performance of passive type railway vehicle, an active steering technology is being developed. In case of vehicle model with active steering system, the steering performance is improved remarkably compared to passive type vehicle model.

  • Currently, approx. 10,532 turnouts were installed on the KR line, of which 3,644 turnouts were installed in the main line where high speed operation is performed. This shows that it is necessary to improve the performance of turnout as one of vulnerable areas for the safe operation of a train. Even though the number of railway accidents is decreasing every year due to the renewal of railway facilities, there are still many factors that cause the occurrence of an accident. In particular, an incident in turnout area does not only have a high risk of a serious accident but also affect the operation of a train on the adjacent track in most cases, and consequently a big social loss is expected due to the delay in train operation as well as the loss of life and property. The objective of this study is to examine the accidents occurred in turnout area that is one of typical vulnerable areas over the past ten years, on the basis of the results, and to take an appropriate measure by finding out the major cause of accidents in turnout area so that a systematic safety system can be established to prevent or reduce accidents in turnout area.

화강풍화토의 비등방성 거동특성 (Anisotropic Behavior of Decomposed Granite Soils)

  • 화강풍화토의 강도와 변형특성을 조사하기 위하여 불포화배수 삼축압축시험을 실시하였다. 주응력방향과 다짐방향을 0, 45, 90도의 세가지 방향성을 갖도록 하였다. 등방압축시 발생하는 압축변형률은 다짐각도에 따라 크게 영향을 받는다. 이차압축시의 변형거동에 관한 시간의존성은 다짐각도와 관계가 없는 것으로 판단되었다. 다짐각도가 압축강도와 변형에 미치는 영향은 특히 낮은 구속압력시에 크다. 다짐각도가 다르다 하더라도 다일러턴시 비율은 다일러턴시로 인한 강도증가와 상관하여 변화한다. 따라서 다짐풍화토는 초기 비등방성 조직을 갖고 있는 모래와 같이 비등방성 역학적 성질을 갖는다고 할 수 있다.

  • This paper introduces a measurement system that measures behavior and electrical characteristics of overhead contact line irregular sections in real-time. For verification, we developed a prototype of the real-time overhead contact line irregular section behavior measurement system and a monitoring system for field tests. The current and temperature of contact wires and messenger wires were measured real-time by applying the system at KTX a commercial line. Therefore, acquiring data is possible with the developed system and this system that measures one of the fundamental and key factors, the catenary current, should be applicable to various areas such as detecting characteristics for designing overhead contact lines, enhancing speed, and enhancing energy.

기존선 속도향상을 위한 궤도재료 개선에 관한 기초 연구 (A preliminary research on improving track material components for increasing train speed on conventional lines)

  • The original conventional railway was designed to be stand against 150km/h and it is still being operated at the present. However, if the speed of train is improved up to 200km/h in the near future in order to get competitiveness, we examined how the speed effect on the rail and we analyzed the effect of vibration, the stress and the displacement of the rail material by the change of the speed and the change of the property of matter through the hydrostatical and the dynamic analysis about the absence of the rail. As the result of the analysis by the above method, we got the prove that the best synthetic hardness of the rail is $75{\pm}10KN/mm$. Therefore, it is proved that rail pad has to be improved.

  • This study investigates the change of the temperature and fatigue property of the braking disk (GC25-30 material) for the railway vehicle. The average temperature is measured about $100^{\circ}C$ and the maximum temperature is measured over $200^{\circ}C$ by non-contact sensor from Seoul to Chun-an. In the $20^{\circ}C-300^{\circ}C$. The Fatigue tests did for new and used disk specimens. The fatigue test results of new disk specimens were similar due to the temperature change. But the compare of specimens between new disk and old disk, The fatigue life of old disk specimens was smaller than new disk specimens about 10%.

  • This study reviews the work that has been carried out to date on the effects of train slipstreams, which begins as the head of the train passes and continues until after the tail of the train passed, on people and their belongings on station platforms. Recorded incidents in UK involving station users and their property on station platforms caused by train slipstreams are reviewed. Methods used by other railway administrations to manage the risk from slipstream effects on station platforms are described. Recommendations to improve the platform design of the risk are made. The extent to which design guides for assessing the risk can be developed is considered.

  • The lateral stiffness of the track structure is very important mechanical property to prevent the track buckling and progress of misalignment. The increasing methods of the lateral stiffness of the track structure are the following; increases of the lateral ballast resistance, and increases of the lateral stiffness of the track panel. In order to increase the lateral stiffness of the tack panel, some of the sleepers resist together against the lateral movement can be the most economical and mechanical method. In this paper, H-typed sleeper developed to solve this problem is introduced and the mechanical advantages of this sleeper are investigated.

  • Fiber Reinforced Plastic (FRP) insulator has a higher performance than porcelain. It is only used in domestic AC 25 kV electric railway system. Seoul Metro has developed DC 1500 V FRP insulator since 2008. FRP support insulator of flexible property is affected by the wind in tunnel. A wind tunnel test was carried out to measure influence on the insulator housing when the train passed by. The test results showed that the wind which is resulted from the passing train had a little impact on the FRP insulator shed movements.

  • Recently the Emergency Response is very important issue in Korea because there are lots of damage of people and property. In this paper, we have studied person's injury related to emergency action to minimize the damage on KTX. We defined what Activities of the emergency response workers should take when the Person's injury occurs on the railway. This has been possible through the development of the scenario that is focused on the person's injury accident. We considered all kinds of environment of KTX related to emergency action of person's injury accidents. Finally, we developed the role and responsibility of emergency response workers against KTX person's injury accidents.
