  • We, presently, don't have clear diagram methods and analysis criteria in rock bolt pull test usable for tunnel reinforcement. So this paper has suggested that; first, 'scheme of apposite diagram method at hard rock and the different application method of rock bolt pull test at weathered and hard rock', and second, 'the pullout capacity specification criteria for design and construction of rock bolt', based on foreign criteria and field test.

  • Barber bogie and Y25 bogie is the main bogie of freight car which is used in the Korean railway. In case of Barber bogie and a mixed formation tile maximum speed limit of empty car is 70 km/h and that of loaded car is 90 km/t and also it runs a speed of 110 km/h in time of an exclusive formation of Y25 bogie. The car named as high speed freight car at present is Y25 bogie which modeled on the Y25 bogie or Europe developed in 1993, Y25 bogie has no problem about the running capacity up to the speed of 110 km/h, but it works as limiting factors to tile increasing cost of maintenance and repair expenses which caused by repair of bogie and the cost of materials. This study is going to describe the contents examined by analysis and tests, aimed at being used as an index of plan in the future through the strength test of high speed freight car which is used now.

  • The analysis of static and dynamic characteristics of reinforced roadbed materials was performed through model and laboratory tests. The strength characteristic of reinforced roadbed materials such as HMS-25 and soil were investigated through the unconfined axial compression test, the model soil box test and the combined resonant column and torsional shear test. The unconfined axial compression strength of HMS-25 shows a steady increasement in strength due to the chemical hardening reaction between HMS-25 and water. The result of model soil box test reveals that railroad roadbed of HMS-25 is better than that of soil in several aspects, such as, bearing capacity and settlement. The combined resonant column and torsional shear test result indicates that shear modulus of HMS-25 and soil increase with the power of 0.5 to the confining pressure and linear relationship to normalized shear modulus and damping ratio.

  • The effect of the core cell shape on shock absorption characteristics of biomimetically inspired honeycomb structures has been numerically investigated. The finite element models of honeycomb test specimen composed of five core cells of identical mass have been constructed, and numerical simulations have been run on PAMCRASH. The dimensions of the sides of core cells as well as the angle between the sides have been shown to influence the shock absorption characteristics of the honeycomb structure. The specimen with regular hexagonal core cell shape is found to show the best shock absorbing capacity, and specimen with rectangle-like core cell are found to provide good shock absorbing characteristics.

  • Rockfall protection fence is one of the most common rockfall protection methods in Korea. If rockfall protection fences are required along the road or railway, their location, height and capacity, in terms of the maximum kinetic energy that they can absorb, should be specified. Within this paper, the best practice of rockfall barrier is introduced. Modern rockfall simulations as a means to define risks, protection requirements, dynamic loading and height of potential structures and selection of appropriate placement is presented. Technical possibilities of rockfall barriers and their actual limits are presented. Safety concepts based on probabilities approaches are proposed. Recent studies performed in other countries show that Flexible Barriers are also a feasible system to stop and retain debris flows. Finally an outlook onto further development is given.

  • CCTV network has been implemented to transmit the image information of platfo gate and transfer section to local headquarters in the KNR(Korean National Railroa But. communication system for transferring image information around accident field has not been established yet. thus, at present implementation of communication equipment is necessary for dyn of unspecified accident to be transmitted to headquarters. Copper cable communication network is run by KNR, but it is processing installatio optics cable in connection with the implemental plan for high-speed network from n And, the capacity of communication channel will be guaranteed much more than een station and station, station and central headquarters when fiber optics cable is This study analyzes the image equipment of field for transmission and estimated m transmit image information of accident field to headquarters with using communicat ucture. And, the study considers implemental method of communication network for nce image transmission from dozens to hundreds kilometers.

  • This study analyzed changes of train operation between Seoul~Cheonan after the introduction of new electrified rail in 2005. As expected number of passengers were reduced at specific service section and several railroad stations which were served by the Mugunghwa. Also, the statistic shows that passenter demand concentrated in a specific time, so train service frequency and level of service need to be modified to meet with changed demand pattern. The purpose of this paper is to identify critical demand pattern, especially, in several section of the railroad system. This studies provide a railroad transportation system that is significantly more efficient, with far greater capacity, by providing solutions to the problems of congestion impact.

  • This paper is studied on earth network configuration when common earth is applied to electrified railway system. And the permitted capacity of buried earth cable used for configuring common earth network and application plan of existing individual earth system when common em1:h network is applied to existing electrification line improvement are studied. For this, the configuration of common earth network is examined according to the SNCF regulation, and the interface between common earth and individual earth is analysed on the basis of the existing track circuit used in electrified line.

  • We deal with the headway which effects on the performance of the PRT(Personal Rapid Transit) system and the system safety. The headway, time between passage of one vehicle and the next, is one of the important factors to assess the line capacity, which has a cue to solve the problem of the congestion in public transportation. To decide the headway there are many important factors, especially such as the failure vehicle deceleration rate, the following simple analytical equation can be made to assess the relation between the line speed and the minimum headway. In this paper we employ a numerical analysis method using a simple analytical equations for the evaluation of the minimum headway and show simple simulation results.
