AGT system is a kind of light railway train. AGT system use of concrete track and rubber tire, so it can be reduce the noise and vibration, compare to the normal train system. And, the dynamic responses of normal bridge are influenced by the dynamic characteristics of bridge, the speed of vehicle and the surface roughness of railway. But the AGT system bridge is influenced not only the above facts but also the guiderail unevenness, because, AGT vehicle steered by guiderail. So, in this study, optimized service condition is suggested for the design and operation of AGT system, by the means of experimental study. The experiments are executed for PSC bridge with length of 30m, at the AGT test line in Kyongsan. The test results are compared and investigated according to the prominence. In the test result, the guiderail prominence influenced on the dynamic response of bridge. It shows a increase as compared with no guiderail prominence in the dynamic response value acceleration, displacement, stain.
When Korean High Speed Train (KTX) runs over a high-speed railway bridge, the high-speed railway bridge gives quite large acceleration response. Local vibration at the large cross section, the impact from equally spaced sleepers, the vibration due to elastomeric bearings, and the vibration from the train itself are the causes of this acceleration response. Maximum peaks of the accelerations measured at the bridges are sometimes going over the limit value. Although it is smaller than 0.35G, the limit from the Korean Bridge Design Manual(BRDM), this acceleration response should be reduced for the safety of running trains with high speed. In this paper, to reduce the acceleration response by controlling excessive local vibration at the large cross section, vibration reduction method is studied. The result shows that the effect of elastomeric bearings on the vibration of the bridge is very large and that the vibration reduction device is effective against wing mode local vibration PSC box girder bridge for the high-speed railway, which usually has very large cross section, although it has little effect on global vibration modes such as flexural and twisting modes. The test of the vibration reduction device on the bridge in service has been performed in this study.
The superstructure type of the railway bridge in our country, is mainly classified into the box girder and the I-type girder. The box girder is widely used in the high speed railway bridge because of the safety due to dynamic behavior. The I-type girder is used in the conventional railway bridge, and is also divided into the general type and the composite type, and the newly modified types have been developed. According to the current railway bridge design code, the girder design by the span length in various railway bridge types are performed in this study. The suitable girder height by the span length are analyzed, and the comparative analysis of the structural efficiency and the economical efficiency is carried out. From this study, the composite type girder is appeared the good result in respect of the structural efficiency. However, in the economical aspect, the general I-type girder is required less cost than the other types.
As a method to execute efficient maintenance of steel railway bridge, in this paper, program for fatigue assessments of structural member of steel railway bridge were developed. This program is composed with 3 unit module program which variable stress analysis, fatigue assessment and fatigue crack propagation. The validity of developed program was verified from evaluating the result of filed measurement and program output.
The dynamic behaviors of the bridge structures have great effects on the comfortability and safety of running high-speed trains, which can also reflect the structural degradation. This paper aims to reveal the characteristics of the dynamic behaviors induced by train loadings for a combined highway and railway bridge. Monitoring-based analysis of the acceleration and dynamic displacement of the bridge girder is carried out. The effects of train loadings on the vertical acceleration of the bridge girder are analyzed; the spatial variability of the train-induced lateral girder displacement is studied; and statistical analysis has been performed for the daily extreme values of the train-induced girder deflections. It is revealed that there are great time and spatial variabilities for the acceleration induced by train loadings for the combined highway and railway cable-stayed bridge. The daily extreme values of the train-induced girder deflections can be well fitted by the general extreme value distribution.
The concrete track is being used at the Phase II of the Kyeongbu High Speed Railway and New Constructed Honam High Speed Railway. When it makes a decision of bridge type, It has to consider about longitudinal forces of Continuous Welded Rail, Displacement at the end of bridges, Up-lift forces for fastener on the track. If it is installed turnout on the bridge, There is likelihood of the deck twist by applying the each difference longitudinal forces at the 4 each rails and the buckling by concentration of rail stress at the turnout. Moreover, If it is installed turnout on the continuous bridge and REJ(Rail Expansion Joint) on the main track or turnout track. It is hard to keep a safety for rail because of coming to twist or folding at the expansion of deck on the turnout track. Therefore when it is a design of bridge with turnout. It need to take bridge type to minimize an additional axial force and a displacement at the turnout. This paper makes a study of the composite steel arch bridge that is able to resolve criteria requirements of safety for track with turnout and suggest a helpful design method for bridge considering track with turnout by being based on design and construction method of Eonyang Bridge at the north part of Ulsan Station in Phase II of the Kyeongbu High Speed Railway.
According to continuos welded rails on a bridge, temperature changes bring about the expansion of the bridge deck adding axil forces on the track. Moreover, the ballast on the bridge deck expansion joint is moved due to the bridge deck. If bridge decks are longer, the influence is greater, loosening ballast, causing track irregularities, and deteriorating passengers' comfort. Considering structure of bridge itself and tolerance of track irregularities caused by the loosened ballast on bridges, the maximum length of a deck should be less than 80m, which is the same as the standard of the French railway. In this study, an interaction between the expansion related to the bridge length and irregularity in longitudinal level referring to measurements and maintenance works performed in the high-speed railways was analyzed. This research shows that installation of sliding plate or vertical ballast stopper is not a good option since it is difficult to install. On the other hand, installation of movable fastener or gluing is easy but its influence is insignificant. To conclude, switch tie tamping or manual tamping is more effective than others.
The major objective of this study is to investigate the effects and application of improvement for railway steel plate girder bridge by resilient panel track system. It analyzed the mechanical behaviors of steel plate girder bridge with applying resilient panel track system on the finite element analysis and laboratory test for static & dynamic characteristics. As a result, the improvement of steel plate girder bridge with resilient panel track systems are obviously effective for the static & dynamic response which is non-ballast steel plate girder bridge. The analytical and experimental study are carried out to investigate resilient panel track system decrease vertical acceleration and deflection on steel plate girder bridge for serviceability. And the resilient panel track system reduced dynamic maximum displacements(about 59%) and stresses(about 82%), the increase of dynamic safety is predicted by adopting resilient panel track system. From the dynamic test results of steel plate girder bridge, it is investigated that vertical acceleration and deflection is very low with applying resilient panel track system. The servicing steel plate girder bridge with resilient panel track system has need of the reasonable improvement measures which could be reducing the effect of static and dynamic behavior that degradation phenomenon of structure by an unusual response characteristic and a drop durability.
The study is indispensable for the dynamic behaviors because this Cable-stayed long span bridge ; has a more flexible structure than normal bridge can have weaknesses which are impact factor, deflection and defectives etc. This study analyze the dynamic behavior by an analysis of the moving constant train force on railway with Midas/Civil that is a commercial finite element analysis tool about Extradosed PSC Bridge. Also it will be checked the dynamic behavior features and standard of the dynamic capability.
Precise estimation f a structure's dynamic characteristics is indispensable for ensuring stable dynamic response during life time especially for the structures which can experience resonance such as railway bridges. Especially, concrete track can change the modal properties of the railway bridge, through the contribution of stiffness as well as mass effects, generally only the mass effect is considered in dynamic analysis of the railway bridge. In this paper, static and dynamic behaviors of railway bridge with concrete track were investigated through experimental study. Also, numerical analysis was performed about considering only mass of concrete track and together with stiffness and mass of concrete track. These were compared with experiment value. Numerical analysis value considering together with stiffness and mass of concrete track was similar experiment value. Therefore, when dynamic analysis of railway bridge with concrete track is performed, the contribution of stiffness as well as mass effects for concrete track is considered.
