고강도 강의 적용을 통한 전차선로 강관 지지물 경제성 개선에 대한 연구 (A Study on an Improvement of Economical Efficiency for an Overhead Catenary Supporting Thin Walled Steel Pole by the Application of High-strength Steel)

  • Since Kyung-Bu High Speed Line has been introduced, a railway electrification has been proceeded rapidly. Therefore, in this study, a specification and application standard for an overhead catenary supporting thin walled steel pole using STKT590 material are proposed in order to improve an economical efficiency. To decide the specification, strength analysis, deflection analysis, deflection test and fracture test are performed. If the supporting structures using high strength materials such as STKT590 are installed, the advantages of cost by the materials price reduction and demand and supply are expected.

  • This paper investigates the productivity growth in Korean railway lines. The productivity growth is calculated by a process of measuring of pure efficiency change index(PECI), scale efficiency change index(SECI), and technical change index(TCI), using Data envelopment analysis (DEA) method. The data cover the period 1990~2007; 1990~2003 are the pre-structural reform years and the post-structural reform years are 2005~2007. The framework for the analysis is Malmquist Productivity Index (MPI) of the to investigate the impacts of structural reform on productivity growth, respectively. The inputs considered are the length of operating line, the number of staff, the number of coach and wagon, and the outputs are the trains movement of passenger and freight, and the traffic of passenger and freight.

  • In the respect of energy saving and reusing, it is necessary to reduce greenhouse gases emission and to enhance the operation efficiency in electric railway system. Recently, as the power electronics technologies are advanced, some countries have focused on the regenerative inverter to use regeneration energy on each line. When the electric tractions are stopped or slowed down, it is useful to supply the surplus energy to the power source by regenerative system, which increases its energy efficiency. Also, the generated energy can be supply to other tractions or equipments inside traction. Thus, it may help reduce construction cost of additional power plants. The purpose of this study is to describe the development status of the regenerative inverter system which suppress extra DC-line voltage and regenerate the energy instead of using a resister.

  • Recently, by the whole world paradigm shift to "Low Carbon Green Growth", it is required to renovate National Transportation and Logistics System. Transportation accounts for 21% of the total energy consumption and 20% of the total $CO_2$ emission, and also places its main reliance on fossil fuels. From green point of view, electric railway system is superior to the other transportation alternatives, but also required to develop the innovative technologies for high efficiency and low energy consumption. In this paper, the concept of railway green operation system by regenerative synchronized driving is presented, including the numerical example and the estimated effect.

  • Downtown traffic culture of the car focus of our country have developed. But, it was been interested in railroad to saturation of situation, environmental problem. Also, it is getting interest which is international by departure point of network connecting from Europe to Northeast Asia. Private capital project of railroad is activated but Construction companies payability is real that is worsen day by day. Therefore, Construction companies is destroying element enterprise's inefficiency and the waste, be interested in Project Management Information System as part of information. I wish to approach in efficiency of railway construction by presenting professional construction company's Project Management Information System.

  • World Business Council for Sustainable Development(WBCSD) is effort to achieve sustainable development in economic growth, environmental preservation and social development. Being this way, it is essential for developing evaluation tool which quantify to fulfill sustainable development. Eco-efficiency is one of the quantitative tools to evaluate environmental impact and economic aspect. Eco-efficiency, in general term, means creating more value of product or services with less impact to environment. It indicates as environmental impact in denominator and value of product or services in numerator. Eco-efficiency shows how much economic value reveals to unit environmental impact caused by product or service as an indicator. This study aims at developing eco-efficiency indicator of railway industry considering use stage among the entire life cycle stage of KTX and Saemaul train and also, figure out eco-efficiency value through indicator. Therethrough, it is enables to evaluate created value per environmental aspects. Since rail vehicles demands a lot of energy to transport people during use stage, the environmental impact is more significant than other lkfe cycle stages. Therefore, it quantified environmental indicator as CO2 emission and economic indicator as transportation record per a year with an annual income. This study contributes to be used as a tool for quantifying indicator of comparison evaluation in respect of rail vehicle in use stage.

A New Data Link Protocol for Railway Signaling Systems

  • In accordance with the computerization of railway signaling systems, the interface link between signaling equipment has been replaced by a digital communication channel and the importance of this communication link has become increasingly significant. However, there are some problems with the present state of railway signaling. First, different communication protocol is applied to interfaces between signaling although they have the same functions. Next, the communication protocols currently used in the railway fields contain various illogical components such as structure, byte formation, error correction scheme and so on. To solve these matters, a new data link protocol for railway signaling systems is designed. In this paper, the structure of protocol and the results of performance analyses are presented. It will be expected to increase the safety, reliability and efficiency of maintenance of signaling systems by using the designed communication protocol for railway signaling in Korea.

  • 최근 철도소음으로 인해 발생하는 궤도 주변 구조물의 민원 방지와 궤도 주변 산업단지의 초정밀 장비들의 정상적인 운영을 위해 철도 진동을 정량적으로 평가할 수 있는 기술개발이 필요하다. 기존의 해석적인 방법은 매우 복잡한 동적 응답 모델이 요구되며, 요구 모델의 부정확성으로 인한 결과의 신뢰성을 확보하기 어려운 문제가 있다. 따라서, 본 논문에서는 철도 진동에 영향을 주는 요소들을 분류한 국내 철도진동 실측 데이터베이스를 기반으로 Linear Regression, Gradient Descent 기법을 이용해 철도 운행으로부터 발생되는 진동값을 추론하는 철도진동 평가 알고리즘 및 시스템을 제안한다. 제안된 알고리즘으로 얻은 추론결과는 기존의 해석적 방법에 비해 높은 효율성과 정확성을 보인다.

  • Inductive power transfer module(IPTM) is a contact-less power supply device and its application range has been extended to the large capacity devices such as electric vehicles, industrial mover and railway system as well as small capacity devices such as electric toothbrush charger, celluar phone charger, and so on. For railway application, the IPTM will transfer energy while train stops at a station for around 30[sec]. Therefore, equivalent circuit parameters and coupling coefficient of IPTM are an important design factor for the high energy transfer efficiency. This paper investigates the properties of equivalent circuit parameters and coupling coefficient of U-U type IPTM and U-I type IPTM using an analytical method and experimental method. Considering the coupling coefficient of the U-U type is larger than U-I type's, the U-U type is suitable for an application which need maximum power transfer and high efficiency.
