수화열 발생인자가 지하철 콘크리트 구조물의 내구설계에 미치는 영향 (Effect of the factor developing the Heat of Hydration on Durability Design in the Subway Concrete Structure)

  • With the recent continuous expansion of subways, newly created subways tend to have lower locations and wider sections. Furthermore. since box structures and evacuating tunnels are classified into a category of mass-concrete. the thermal-stress, emitted from the inside. causes cracks to structures from the inception of constructing. In this paper, thermal-stress analysis and durability evaluation of box structure were carried out to investigate relationship between durability and parameter causing the heat of hydration. Through the examination, this paper tries to find out satisfactory solutions to regulated thermal crack and ensure the required duration period. The results of this paper showed that to control thermal crack and guarantee the required duration period it was more effective to use low-heat-portland cement and moderateheat-portland cement. As cement volume due to reduction of water-cement ratio increased, the possibility of thermal cracks occurrence increased but results of durability evaluation was different depending on evaluation method. The results showed that the appropriate water-cement ratio to control the heat of hydration and satisfy the required durability was $45\∼55\%$. And it was showed that during placement of concrete blocks ambient temperature affect the heat of hydration. thermal crack and long-term durability largely and when concrete was placed at low temperature to control thermal crack. it need to try to guarantee the required duration period. Henceforth, by studying not only internal and external conditions, such as the relative humidity and the unit weight. but also methods, to evaluate durability, in accordance with domestic situations, more reasonable design of durability should be achieved.

화강토 지반 절취사면의 풍화특성에 관한 연구 (A Study of Characteristics on Weathering for Decomposed Granite Soils in Cutting Slope)

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate shear parameters on cutting slope of weathered granite soils by using small dynamic cone penetration test on the very moment of its cutting. The results were : On the relations among N$\_$c/, Li, and CEC, the condition of Li>6%, CEC>14(meq/100g) corresponds to that of N$\_$c/ values of 2∼30, and 3<CEC<14(meq/100g) to N$\_$c/=30∼50. Comparing the smallest penetration depth from two small dynamic cone penetration tests done at 5m below from the top of the slope on April 15th, October 31t. there was a l0cm difference. So we could find out the degree of weathering on the slope. And dividing the difference by 190 days (the whole testing time), we could know it's being weathered 0.052mm each day. The more N. value increases, the more shear parameters(internal friction angle ; $\phi$, cohesion : c) increase at a standard pressure($\sigma$>32㎪). So the condition of N$\_$c/=2∼50 corresponds to that of $\phi$=27∼50, c=12∼49㎪. From the above testing results, the N$\_$c/ values more correspond to $\phi$ values than c values. In conclusion, this study suggests that on small dynamic cone penetration test a penetration boundary line of 5 centimeters is decided at around Li=4%, CEC=3(meq/100g) which is classified as a strong weathering soil. It also shows that as Li increases CEC increases as well, while N$\_$c/ decreases.

  • A station is not only the public space where socially diverse classes get together and cultural interchanges occur but also the personal and emotional space where the meeting and parting occur for each individual. Thus, it is necessity to consider this dual point from the beginning of the plan to make the simple, comfortable, intuitive and friendly environment for the users in the station. Also, it should be capable of active life style of moderner according to the change of the city environment. Furthermore, as a station is not just a single-purpose space anymore but the versatile space where fulfills the user's needs for the multi-function and the desire for diversity. As the station in these days opened 24 hours for users with the modern, commercial and cultural facilities, the interior design for a station needs to be designed to be easy to use, functional and able to vitalize the environment. In order to make a desirable interior environment in a station, first of all, it is required to grasp the characteristic of the space by analyzing the phenomena of an individual or a group act in a existing space formed by the interrelation between the human and the environment. To reduce the resistance against the new environment from the user, in other words, to increase the satisfaction, it is necessity to induce the behavior of the users to the desirable way toward to the new environment. Consequently, positive methodology with recognitive approach through cognitive psychology, spatial behavior research is required.

A Study on the Performance of Causal Links between Error Causes: Application to Railroad Accident Cases

  • Objective: The aim of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of causal links between various error causes in human error analysis. Background: As finding root causes of human error in safety-critical systems is often a cognitively demanding and time-consuming task, it is particularly necessary to develop a method for improving both the quality and efficiency of the task. Although a few methods such as CREAM have suggested causal linking between error causes as a means to enhance the quality and efficiency of human error analysis, no published research to date has evaluated the performance of the causal links. Method: The performance of the CREAM links between error causes were evaluated with 80 railway accident investigation reports from the UK. From each report, errorneous actions of operators were derived, and for each error, candidate causes were found by following the predefined links. Two measures, coverage and selectivity, were used to evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of the links, respectively. Results: On average, 96% of error causes actually included in the accident reports were found by following the causal links, and among the total of 121 possible error causes, the number of error causes to be examined further was reduced to one-tenth on average. As an additional result of this work, frequent error causes and frequently used links are provided. Conclusion: This result implies that the predefined causal links between error causes can significantly reduce the time and effort required to find the multiple levels of error causes and their causal relations without losing the quality of the results. Application: The CREAM links can be applied to human error analysis in any industry with minor modifications.

Safety Culture, A New Challenge to Human Factors Engineering for 21st Century

  • Objective: This paper discusses the recent challenges to human factors engineering due to the safety culture. Background: As incidents occurring in specific fields such as logistics, plant, energy and medical sectors in Korea, as well as in the public sectors including railway, road, aviation and shipping, are recently raised as social issues from the disaster dimension, those incidents are dealt with as man-made disasters in many cases. The trend regarding all accidents as man-made disasters has been expanded in the active perspective that the controllability of all incidents should be ensured in technology development, due to change from a fatal point of view regarding disasters as random occurrence of uncertainties in the past. Method: Man-made disasters are concluded as human errors, and safety culture stands out as a cause of human errors or a new cause item recently. Because safety culture, however, is a very comprehensive term, of which true nature is obscure, although many definitions of safety culture have been presented, the safety culture may make avoid the true nature and responsibility of an incident, or make the main player and subject obscure. Raising safety culture as a cause without presenting a specific countermeasure will be just a wisdom of hindsight. Results and Conclusion: This study reviews the fundamental discussions on "Is safety culture a task of human factors engineering?" and the existing approach carried out from various perspectives in order to seek an effective approach on the new task of safety culture in the human factors engineering field. This study discusses an engineering approach to meet a precondition that safety culture is not just an added factor through a review of the approaches in the proactive fields such as nuclear power and aviation, and the traditional approaches of human factors engineering. Application: This study especially defines the perspective of socio-technological system that has expanded the existing man-machine system, and discusses a systemic approach embracing various interactions, and several overriding tasks.

도시철도 인접굴착공사에 따른 터널구조물의 구조 안정성 평가 (Evaluation of Structural Stability of Tunnel due to Adjacent Excavation on Urban Transit)

  • 본 연구는 운행선 지하철 노선에 인접하여 신축되는 구조물 건설을 위한 굴착공사가 계획됨에 따라 실제 시공 시 운행선 지하철 구조물의 구조적 안정을 평가하고자 도시철도 터널 및 궤도모델을 적용한 3차원 정밀수치해석을 수행하였다. 철거되는 기존 구조물 및 운용중인 지하철에 대한 초기 조건을 구현하고 굴착에 대한 입체적인 영향 평가를 수행하였다. 본 연구에서는 과업구간의 굴착 길이(약 110m)보다 더 넓은 영역(170m)을 수치해석 모델로 설정하여 횡방향 뿐만 아니라 종방향에 대한 구조물의 안정성을 평가하였다. 연구결과, 비교적 굴착 심도와 면적이 넓은 대형굴착공사인 대상 현장의 경우 시공단계별 지하철 터널구조물의 변형수준은 관련기준을 만족하는 것으로 나타났으며 굴착공사 중심부를 기준으로 지하철 구조물의 변형도 크게 발생되었다.

광역전철의 승용차 경쟁력 평가모형 개발 : 경의선·중앙선 급행열차 직결운행을 중심으로 (Development of a Model for Evaluating Metropolitan Railways' Competitiveness Against Passenger Cars: Focusing on the Express Train Service of Gyeongeui·Joongang Connected Line)

  • 본 연구는 광역전철 활성화를 목표로 승용차 대비 경쟁력 평가를 위한 수단선택모형을 개발하였다. 연구대상 노선은 수도권의 경의선과 중앙선이며, 열차운행 구간은 두 노선을 연결하는 일산역부터 구리역까지 설정하였다. 수단선택모형은 잠재선호조사(SP) 자료를 이용한 개별행태모형이며, 교통수단선택의 경쟁구도는 승용차와 급행열차이다. 연구 결과, 수단선택모형이 적정한 수준으로 도출되었으며, 이를 이용하여 통행자의 시간가치와 탄력성 값이 나타내는 특성을 분석하였다. 분석결과 광역전철에서 급행열차를 운행할 경우에는 통행비용의 감소보다는 통행시간의 단축에 주안점을 두는 것이 더욱 효과적으로 나타났다. 또한 이 같은 측면에서 개별노선간의 직결운행을 확대하고 급행열차를 운행하여 환승시간과 차내시간을 줄여주는 정책 추진이 요구된다.

신용카드 추천을 위한 다중 프로파일 기반 협업필터링 (Collaborative Filtering for Credit Card Recommendation based on Multiple User Profiles)

  • Collaborative filtering, one of the most widely used techniques to build recommender systems, is based on the idea that users with similar preferences can help one another find useful items. Credit card user behavior analytics show that most customers hold three or less credit cards without duplicates. This behavior is one of the most influential factors to data sparsity. The 'cold-start' problem caused by data sparsity prevents recommender system from providing recommendation properly in the personalized credit card recommendation scenario. We propose a personalized credit card recommender system to address the cold-start problem, using multiple user profiles. The proposed system consists of a training process and an application process using five user profiles. In the training process, the five user profiles are transformed to five user networks based on the cosine similarity, and an integrated user network is derived by weighted sum of each user network. The application process selects k-nearest neighbors (users) from the integrated user network derived in the training process, and recommends three of the most frequently used credit card by the k-nearest neighbors. In order to demonstrate the performance of the proposed system, we conducted experiments with real credit card user data and calculated the F1 Values. The F1 value of the proposed system was compared with that of the existing recommendation techniques. The results show that the proposed system provides better recommendation than the existing techniques. This paper not only contributes to solving the cold start problem that may occur in the personalized credit card recommendation scenario, but also is expected for financial companies to improve customer satisfactions and increase corporate profits by providing recommendation properly.

사물 인터넷 기반 소 행동 특성 관찰 시스템 설계 및 구현 (Design and Implementation of Cattle Behavior Detection System based on Internet of Things)

  • 가속도 및 자이로 센서, 아두이노 프로 미니와 블루투스 모듈을 이용하여 사물인터넷 기반의 소 행동 특성을 관찰할 수 있는 시스템을 설계하고 구현하였다. 구현된 시스템을 통해 소의 움직임을 관찰하고 측정하였으며, 측정된 데이터를 블루투스 모듈을 통해 스마트폰으로 전송하여 스마트 폰에서 소의 움직임 변화를 그래프를 통해 나타내었으며 이를 통해 소의 걸음 수를 측정하도록 하였다. 구현된 시스템과 제안한 알고리듬에 의해 소의 발정 상태를 판단하며, 이는 소의 인공수정에 의한 번식력 향상에 도움을 줄 수 있다. 본 논문에서 구현된 시스템을 실제 소의 다리에 부착하여 데이터를 측정하고, 제안한 알고리듬에 의해 발정 유무를 판단하였다. 향후 연구 과제로 피 측정되는 소의 개체수와 통신 거리를 늘려 축산 농가에서 좀 더 효율적으로 사용할 수 있는 시스템 연구 및 측정 데이터의 데이터베이스화를 하고자 한다.

다중 공진을 이용한 이중 부이 파력발전장치의 모형실험 (Model Test of Dual-Buoy Wave Energy Converter using Multi-resonance)

  • In this study, we proposed a new type of dual-buoy wave energy converter (WEC) exploiting multi-resonance and analyzed the experimental results from a model test in a 2-D wave flume. A dual-buoy WEC using multi-resonance has two advantages: high efficiency at the resonant frequencies and the potential to extend the frequency range available to extract wave power from the WEC. The suggested WEC was composed of an outer buoy and an inner buoy sliding vertically inside the outer buoy. As the power take-off device, a linear electric generator (LEG) consisting of permanent magnets and coils fixed at each buoy was adopted. Electricity was produced by the relative heave motion between the two buoys. To search for the optimal shape of a dual-buoy WEC, we conducted experiments on the heave motion of a two-body system in regular waves without an LEG installed. Model tests with six combinations of experimental models were conducted in order to find the motion characteristics of a dual-buoy WEC. It was found that model 2, which included a ring-shaped appendage to move the resonant frequency of the outer buoy toward a high value, showed a higher relative heave response amplitude operator (RAO) curve than model 1. In addition, the double-peak shape of the heave RAO curve shown for model 2 indicated the extension of the frequency range for extracting wave power in irregular waves.
