A railroad is used to a lot of area and it is an eco-friendly and an effective means of communication which is a transport for passengers and products. In recent years, the accidents caused by subway and railroad are cognate with people. We need to come up with preparing measures to avoid the accidents. In this paper, to prevent an accident developing and implementing a system which is a railroad management safety system is the purpose. The system is able to provide scalability for smart railroad safety service based on context aware information. Besides, it is able to furnish flexibility through the OSGi framework.

The synchronized visual message system device of level crossing provides warning system with the use of developed corresponding technology when the train is approaching forward to limited distance in level crossing. To ensure of safety driving for coming transit from road, it detect the location and velocity of train and transport the information to wayside warning device to prevent the collision with train. This paper is about the detailed design of synchronize VMS for passing transit at the level crossing and develop the physical contents of level crossing VMS with expression words, operational device, massage transportation algorism which are based on the proto type study of communication method and information contents for level crossing VMS.

Recently, various attempts are made to increase the efficiency of railway freight transport including bulk cement, the most important transport item of railway transport market. The major seven cement companies have started common use of private bulk cement car since April 2008 for the efficiency of railway freight transport. At that time, major seven cement companies owned 75% of whole bulk cement car. Railway companies forecasted that this project will decrease the amount of cost and transport time of freight car. With these data, it analyzed the effectiveness of the joint use of freight car on actual used data.

AC AT feeding system is possible to do the long distance feeding due to compensate the voltage drop. Nowaday this is a typical and efficient type all over the world in high speed train and heavy transport capacity. Normally a Auto-transformer is installed at regular internal (5 to 10km) between Substation and Sectioning post, this study is reviewed the voltage drop according to train movement and the optimal location of auto transformer, and provided the efficient feeding configuration.

In metropolitan railway systems, the average commuting time keeps increasing as the scheduled speed increases, and this leads to a decline of rail service usage and competitiveness. Therefore, effective express operation for urban trains is required to improve the scheduled speed. In this study, based on the obtainable time shortening efficiency and economic viability, several express operations are suggested for urban railways and these suggestions are compared by considering high performance trains with acceleration/deceleration and maximum speed improvement. As a result, the optimum express system, which can minimize the cost for sidetrack construction, is suggested.

This paper presents an evaluation method that considers the weights of many characteristics of a public transportation system; this method facilitates the selection of suitable advanced transit system in a transportation investment plan. The method sets up twelve evaluation items separated by the following influence factors: users, community, government and operators. It then evaluates the advanced transportation system by analyzing the weights. For an empirical analysis, the urban advanced transportation systems for the main transit of small and medium sized cities were evaluated using the AHP method. The result revealed that the weight order is safety, rapidity and punctuality, convenience, and regional activation, and the priority order is steel wheel-type AGT, LIM, and rubber wheel-type AGT.

This study analyzed passenger access and egress travel patterns related to a Korean regional railway station (Seoul station), then developed a binomial logit model. This model referred to bus and metro mode of access and egress during a national holiday (Chuseok 2009); obtained from transit smart card data. The results showed that 99% of passengers getting access to, or egress from, the regional railway station did so using less than two transfers, and that most passengers were more likely to choose a metro. However, the passengers that made access or egress trips near Seoul Station were more likely to take a bus. From the results of the mode choice model, it was found that the impact of travel time was greater than that of travel cost, in the choices made for both access and egress. Interestingly, the impact of travel time is much greater in choosing the mode of egress.

In this paper, I illustrate the some examples of socio-economic influence of railroad in Korea. The Korean railroad has been running for 109 years now since it started operation in 1899. The opening of railroad in Korea has been affecting influence in our society not only transportation but also infrastructure building and the formation of new cities which they were built along the rail network like Daejeon. I have come up with some examples, which railroad has affected the in our society. For example, the changes of transport route from road to railroad, emerging the new cities, industries and culture. This paper contributes to look over the various function of railroad in Korea. Moreover it will be compared with Japan's railroad influence in his country. It gives us a peculiarity and universality in railroad's function including colonial policy
