The Korea Railroad Research institute study on Rubber Tired AGT system of Light Rail Transit to obtain the essential technology and engineering know-how, which leads lower LRT construction cost. In the development procedure, SE(system Engineering) is needed for combination of subsystem and optimum operation effect. This study is focused on the interface of LRT subsystem(Development of the rubber tired LRT, Power supply system, signalling and train control system, Elevated track structure for the rubber tired LRT), a important part of SE, to develop of the driverless LRT system and establish the test and evaluation.
Purpose - In today's era of carbon neutrality, railways need to find ways to improve usability and efficiency. Accordingly, this study examines the effect of introducing express highspeed railways into the Korean public transportation system and suggests some practical guidelines. One concern in the Korea railway sector is that low scheduled speeds contrast with the highspeed railway system design. Research design, data, and methodology - Current literature and foreign cases are analyzed. Subsequently, using data from the Korean Railroad Research Institute, a benefit analysis is conducted based on expanded track capacity and the saving of time owing to the introduction of the express highspeed railway. Result - The express highspeed railway system is expected to increase the number of train lines from 262 to 348 and the scheduled speed from 168.3km/h to 192.2km/h. Considering reduced time value, the economic effect is about 80 million won per year. Conclusion - The findings suggest that the express highspeed railway is a promising option to improve efficiency and increase customer utility. This study contributes to the literature by initiating a discussion on the express system in Korea; practically, it offers railway operators guidelines for improving highspeed railway system efficiency that can be transformed into a variety of marketing options.

This study performs an evaluation, using the economic feasibility analysis method, of the LTE based railway wireless networks (LTE-R) service that is planned to be used for the future railway networks in Korea. Its objectives are using the evaluation results and working to reflect the factors that lead to a maximization of benefits in designing an integrated railway wireless network. This study analyzes the impact of implementing an LTE-R on the railway networks, in contrast to the existing wireless network methods, e.g. VHR and TRS to new rail lines on an economic view. This results found that the benefit cost ratio is greater than 1.0 with a 10% contribution to benefits of the wireless network service in the case study on the Wonju-Gangneung rail line that will start operations in 2018; as a result, an ICT design is desired. For the introduction of an LTE-R service for the Wonju-Gangneung rail line, design specifications need to increase to benefits for each service, which will verify actual contributions and therefore result in an overall economic effect.

With the emergence of high-integration array and large area panel process, the need to minimize the generation of particles in the field of semiconductor, LCD and OLED has grown. As an alternative to the conventional roller system, a contactless magnetic conveyor has been proposed to reduce the generation of particles. An EM-PM hybrid which is one of magnetic levitation types is already proposed for the conveyor system. One of problems pointed out with this approach is the vibration caused by the dynamic interaction between conveyor and rail. To reduce the vibration, the introduction of a secondary suspension system which aims to decouple the levitation electromagnet from the main body is proposed. The objective of this study is to develop a dynamic model for the magnetically levitated conveyor, and to investigate the effect of the introduced suspension system. An integrated model of levitation system and rail based on 3D multibody dynamic model is proposed. With the proposed model, the dynamic characteristics of maglev conveyor system are analyzed, and the effect of the secondary suspension and the stiffness and damping are investigated.

In order to analyze the motion errors of the aerostatic stage, it is necessary to consider the influence of the moment variation occurred inside the pads. In this paper, a motion error analysis method utilizing the transfer functions on the reaction force and moment is proposed, and general characteristics of the transfer functions are discussed. Calculated motion errors by the proposed method show good agreement with the ones calculated by Multi fad Method, which is considered the entire table as an analysis object. Also, by the introduction of the transfer function of motion errors, which represent the relationship between the spatial frequency components of the rail form error and motion errors, motional characteristics of the porous aerostatic stage can be generalized. In detail, the influence of the spatial frequencies is analyzed qualitatively, and the patterns of the insensitive frequencies which almost do not affect the linear motion error or angular motion error according to the rail length ratio and the number of the pad are verified. The relationship between the moment variation occurred inside the pads and the motion errors is also verified together.
Since bio-diesel oil has a merit that it satisfies both demand of substitution for fossil fuel and reduction in carbon dioxide emission, it is widely used in diesel engines by blending in gas oil in small quantity. It is needed to reduce in NOx emission in some way or others if blending ratio of bio-diesel oil is going to increase, because it is demerit that bio-diesel oil emits more NOx emission than gas oil. In this study, it was accomplished to optimize 3 factors what effect on NOx emission as blending ratio of bio-diesel oil, injection timing and common rail pressure with an introduction of a design of experiments, in order to minimize a number of tests. It was cleared that to introduce the design of experiments was very available in NOx optimization.
A quantitative analysis on the amounts of cant and lateral displacement of gravitational center due to the introduction of high-speed tilting car was carried out, based on the current alignment of the conventional line. In addition, the maximum allowable speed in curve and the level of improvement in maximum speed of tilting car were evaluated through the comparison with the maximum speed of locomotive. It was found that the tilting car produces an equivalent amount of cant, which corresponds to 47.5 % of current actual cant. This effect could be explained by the fact that 1.34 m, which is the height of gravitational center of tilting car from the rail level, is much lower than that of locomotive and thus guarantees much higher level of safety in curve. The equivalent amount of cant due to the lateral displacement of gravitational center followed by tilting in curve was 2.4 mm. It was small but not enough to be neglected and must be included in calculating the maximum speed in curve. It could be concluded that the 15 % speed-up of the conventional line is reasonable under the current condition of alignment.

Around the world, many countries experiencing the issue of shrinking cities are continually expanding high-speed rail networks to enhance regional accessibility and address imbalances. This study analyzed the effects of high-speed train operations on the age-specific population migration in South Korean municipalities from 2012 to 2019, taking into account the risk levels of shrinking cities. For this purpose, an analysis was conducted using age-specific net in-migration population as the dependent variable, employing the spatial panel autoregressive model. The research results indicated that the influence of high-speed rail on regional population inflow varies depending on the risk level of shrinking city. In other words, high-speed railway operations had positive effects on population inflow in the capital areas and some major cities, while explained population outflow in the other regions. High-speed railways particularly exerted a significant impact on the inflow of the young and middle-aged population, representing the working age, but this effect was also limited to regions with a low risk of shrinkage. The findings of this study emphasize the importance of considering planned population and industrial attraction when installing high-speed rail with the goal of achieving regional balanced development and mitigating shrinkage. The results of this study also suggest the need for subsequent research to explore factors that positively influence population structure and inflow based on the level of shrinkage risk in each region, as well as the introduction of new policies tailored to the specific situations of each local government.
In this article, the author have studied on main revisions and some recommendations of the Incoterms(R) 2010. Main revisions are as belows. 1. Two new Incoterms rules -DAT and DAP- have replaced the Incoterms 2000 rules DAF, DES, DEQ and DDU. 2. New classification of the Incoterms(R) 2010 are adopted. First class is Rules for any mode or modes of transport(EXW, FCA, CPT, CIP, DAT, DAP and DDP belong to this class.) and second class is rules for sea and inland waterway transport(FAS, FOB, CFR and CIF belong to this class.). 3. Incoterms(R) 2010 rules formally recognizes that they are available for application to both international and domestic sale contracts. 4. The Guidance Notes and Introduction are not part of the actual Incoterms(R) 2010 rules. 5. Under the FOB, CFR and CIF, all mention of the ship's rail as the point of delivery has been omitted in preference for the goods being delivered when they are "on board" the vessel. 6. Incoterms(R) 2010 rules include the obligation to 'procure goods shipped' as an alternative to the obligation to ship goods in the relevant Incoterms rules. 7. Incoterms(R) 2010 rules give electronic means of communication the same effect as paper communication. 8. Incoterms(R) 2010 rules have allocated obligations between the buyer and seller to obtain or to render assistance in obtaining security-related clearances. such as chain-of custody information. Some recommendations are as belows. 1. The parties must incorporate the Incoterms(R) 2010 rules into their contract of sale. 2. The parties must choose the appropriate Incoterms(R) 2010 rules. 3. Specify the place or port as precisely as possible in their contract of sale. 4. Remember that Incoterms(R) 2010 rules do not give the parties a complete contract of sale. 5. Incoterms(R) 2010 rules do not prohibit alteration of Incoterms rule, but there are dangers in so doings. In order to avoid any unwelcome surprises, the parties would need to make the intended effect of such alterations extremely clear in their contract.
It is necessary to determine reliability indexes of existing railway bridges prior to setting up a proper target reliability index that can be used to introduce a reliability based limit state design method to design practice. Reliability is evaluated for a six PSC-I girder railway bridge, which is one of many representative types of double-track railway bridges. The reliability assessment is carried out for an edge girder subjected to bending moment. In the assessment, the flexural resistance and the fixed-load effect were obtained using existing statistical values from previous research on the introduction of limit state design to road bridge design. On the other hand, the live-load effect was determined using statistical values obtained from field measurement for the Joong-ang corridor, on which heavy freight trains are frequently passing. The reliability assessment is performed by AFOSM(Advanced First Order Second Moment method) for the limit state equation, and a sensitivity analysis for the reliability is performed for each factor of the load and resistance effects.
