Decommissioning process of nuclear facilities consist of a sequence of problem solving activities, because there may exist not only working environments contaminated by radiological exposure but also industrial hazards such as fire, explosions, toxic materials, and electrical and physical hazards. Therefore, not a few countries in the world have been trying to develop appropriate counter techniques in order to guarantee safety and efficiency of the process. In spite of that, there still exists neither domestic nor international standard. Unfortunately, however, there are few workers who experienced decommissioning operations a lot in the past. As a solution, it is quite necessary to utilize experts' opinions for risk assessment in decommissioning process. As for an individual hazard factor, risk assessment techniques are getting known to industrial workers with advance of safety technology, but the way how to integrate those results is not yet. This paper aimed to find out an appropriate technique to integrate individual risk assessment results from the viewpoint of experts. Thus, on one hand the whole risk assessment activity for decommissioning operations was modeled as a sequence of individual risk assessment steps which can be classified into two activities, decontamination and dismantling, and on the other, a risk assessment structure was introduced. The whole model was inferred with Fuzzy theory and techniques, and a numerical example was appended for comprehension.

Purpose: This study was done to identify the relationship between nurses' compliance with safety guidelines for the use of antineoplastic agents, observable symptoms, and stress from occupational exposure. Methods: The participants were 172 nurses from six general hospitals in a metropolitan area. They had administered antineoplastic agents at least three months prior to the study. Data were collected using self-report questionnaires, and then analyzed using SPSS/WIN 23.0 for descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA, $Scheff\acute{e}$ method, and Pearson correlation coefficient. Results: The average score on the guideline for safety compliance was 87.75 points out of a total of 100. The average score for observable symptoms of exposure to antineoplastic agents was 30.12 (28~56) points, and that for mean stress was 33.52 (15~60) points. Observable symptoms and stress from occupational exposure showed a statistically significant positive correlation (r=0.34, p<.001). Conclusion: To increase the degree of compliance with safety guidelines for antineoplastic agents, hospitals should lower the chance of exposure to antineoplastic agents, as well as minimize the observable symptoms and stress from occupational exposure. Periodic education and policy support are needed to improve compliance with safety guidelines for antineoplastic agent use.

Various types of high-precision radiotherapy, such as intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), tomotherapy (Tomo), and stereotactic body radiation therapy have been available since 1997. After being covered by insurance in 2015, the number of IMRT cases rapidly increased 18-fold from 2011 to 2018 in Korea. IMRT, which uses a high-beam irradiation monitor unit, requires higher shielding conditions than conventional radiation treatments. However, to date, research on the shielding of facilities using IMRT and the current understanding of its status are insufficient, and detailed safety regulation procedures have not been established. This study investigated the recommended criteria for the shielding evaluation of facilities using medical linear accelerators (LINACs), including 1) the current status of safety management regulations and systems in domestic and international facilities using medical LINACs and 2) the current status of the recommended standards for safety management in domestic and international facilities using medical LINACs. It is necessary to develop and introduce a safety management system for facilities using LINACs for clinical applications that is suitable for the domestic medical environment and corresponds to the safety management systems for LINACs used overseas.

Beam hardening artifact can be caused by metal material when performing PET exam. Therefore, we studied a solution decreasing artifact caused by metallic dental implant. The higher voltage, the lesser artifact in CT exam. But Higher voltage dosen't affect PET exam. The thicker silicon the lesser artifact in CT and PET exam. Both methods make less artifact in CT and PET exam. But considering safety of patient, the way of using silicon is better.

Unconditional clearance levels were derived for fifteen short-lived radionuclides. Due to the uncertainty of long-term radiological impact analysis, alpha emitting nuclides and nuclides with half-lives longer than 30 years (except for C-14) were excluded from the scope of this study. The candidate waste streams are solid wastes and waste oil generated from nuclear power reactors. The clearance levels were derived by generic assessment for enveloping scenarios, along with specific assessment for each detailed scenario such as landfill, incineration and recycling. The derived values lie in the range from 0.01 to 100 Bq/g.
Generally a patient who was injected radiopharmaceuticals for nuclear medicine examination is not an object of isolation. Therefore, when the patient uses toilet, we expect surface contamination of a toilet by radioisotope. The measured value is $25.69Bq/cm^2$(a restroom near admission and administration), $19.39Bq/cm^2$(a toilet near department of radiology). The study shows that 9 of 24 locations in controlled area exceed over surface contamination limit. From now on, we should find source of contamination through measurement radioactive nuclide to apply radiation safety management.
When performing Chest x-ray examination to pregnant woman, normally we shield back side of abdomen. In this situation, scattered rays made by equipment and surrounding structure can enter front side of abdomen. Therefore, in this study, we evaluate suitability of abdomen shield especially to pregnant woman. In case of One shielding material placed back of abdomen, the measured value is $0.676{\pm}0.19uSv/hr$. Two shielding material is $0.764{\pm}0.04uSv/hr$. Three is $0.685{\pm}0.16uSv/hr$. The exposure dose inferred in this study does not excess annual effective dose limit. But It is not mean absolute safety. So we have to minimize occurrence of stochastic effect of radiosensitivity by shielding front side of abdomen of pregnant woman in clinic.
The aim of this paper is to describe a relatively recent international agreement on the widely debated concepts of: (i) attributing effects to low dose radiation exposure situations that have occurred in the past and, (ii) inferring radiation risk to situations that are planned to occur in the future. An important global consensus has been recently achieved on these fundamental issues at the level of the highest international intergovernmental body: the General Assembly of the United Nations. The General Assembly has welcomed with appreciation a scientific report on attributing health effects to radiation exposure and inferring risks that had been prepared the United Nations Scientific Committee on the Effects of Atomic Radiation (UNSCEAR) following a formal request by the General Assembly.
A safety assessment is carried out for the near-surface radioactive waste disposal in the reference engineered vault facility. The analysis is mainly divided into two parts. One deals with the release and transport of radionuclide in the vault and unsaturated zone. The other deals with the transport of radionuclide in the saturated zone and radiological impacts to a human group under well drinking water scenario. The parameters for source-term, geosphere and biosphere models are mainly obtained from the site specific data. The results show that the annual effective doses are dominated by long lived, mobile radionuclides and their associated daughters. And it is found that the total effective dose for drinking water is far below the general criteria of regulatory limit for radioactive waste disposal facility.
The purpose of this study to survey radiation workers' knowledge, attitude and behavior related to radiation safety management at medical institutions as an educational approach to radiation safety management and to accumulate materials in continuity of past data and, by doing so, to examine changes over time, to analyze long-term trends systematically and to derive ground data for establishing radiation safety control plans to prevent health disorders caused by radiation not only in radiation workers but also in ordinary people. For these purposes, a questionnaire survey was conducted with radiation workers at medical institutions throughout the country for around 40 days in 2001 and 2006. The results are summarized as follows. 1. The levels of knowledge, attitude and behavior related to radiation safety management were all higher in 2006 than in 2001. 2. Statistically significant correlations were observed between knowledge and attitude, between behavior and knowledge and between attitude and behavior in both 2001 and 2006. In particular, the correlation between attitude and behavior were higher in 2006 than in 2001, suggesting that radiation workers' attitude has been improved. 3. Factors affecting radiation workers' behavior related to radiation safety management were knowledge and attitude in both 2001 and 2006, and the effect of attitude was higher than that of knowledge.
