Cognitive radio systems are being implemented recently to tackle spectrum underutilization problems and aid efficient data traffic. Spectrum sensing is the crucial step in cognitive applications in which cognitive user detects the presence of primary user (PU) in a particular channel thereby switching to another channel for continuous transmission. In cognitive radio systems, the capacity to precisely identify the primary user's signal is essential to secondary user so as to use idle licensed spectrum. Based on the inherent capability, a new spectrum sensing technique is proposed in this paper to identify all types of primary user signals in a cognitive radio condition. Hence, a spectrum sensing algorithm using improved convolutional neural network and long short-term memory (CNN-LSTM) is presented. The principle used in our approach is simulated annealing that discovers reasonable number of neurons for each layer of a completely associated deep neural network to tackle the streamlining issue. The probability of detection is considered as the determining parameter to find the efficiency of the proposed algorithm. Experiments are carried under different signal to noise ratio to indicate better performance of the proposed algorithm. The PU signal will have an associated modulation format and hence identifying the presence of a modulation format itself establishes the presence of PU signal.
This paper analyzes network selection issues of secondary users (SUs) in Cooperative Cognitive Radio Networks (CRNs) by utilizing Queuing Model. Coordinating with Handover Cost-Based Network selection, this paper also addresses an opportunity for the secondary users (SUs) to enhance QoS as well as economics efficiency. In this paper, network selection of SUs is the optimal association between Overall System Time Minimization Problem evaluation of Secondary Connection (SC) and Handover Cost-Based Network selection. This will be illustrated by simulation results.
In this paper, we designed and implemented bio-signals transmission and storage system using wireless sensor network based on ZigBee. Wireless sensor network is organized with routing protocol based on tree structure. The data is transmitted to monitoring system based on SIP. ZigBee will be used as various combinations with other wireless network technologies for application purposes.
Next Generation Weapon system from the center of the platform to share information in real-time Network Centric Warfare(NCW: Network Centric Warfare) has been changed. Data link system is defined as a network. That is, all in real-time battlefield information is to enable sharing. Data link system is classified as a precision strike, Monitoring/control, control of a Patriot missile battery systems. These systems are most effective in a Joint warfare and precision strike. Data Link Systems(Data Communications) implementation is accomplished by using the KDLM(Korean Data Link Modem) and Radio Transceiver. KDLM is operated in conjunction with the legacy Radios(re-using fielded HF/VHF/UHF radio systems). In this paper, we describe in terms of KDLM system design. In this paper, the proposed design structure is how to effectively interact with legacy various radio. First, The results provide an analysis of that Dynamic TDMA system and apply modem structure. Radio characteristics data are necessary for an effective TDMA system design. This article analyzes the test results and describes the structure to improve the receive performance.
Multicast and Broadcast Service (MBS) provides flexible and efficient transmission of the same information to multiple users using shared radio resources on WiBro network. The advantage of this service is to achieve the most efficient use of radio and network resources as well as to lessen sender's processing load when sending the same information to multiple users. Though radio resources are saved since a multicast or broadcast transport connection is associated with a service flow, it is hard to change MBS service channel dynamically. In this paper, we propose a Radio Resource Management System (RRMS) for supporting dynamic scheduling of MBS service channels. Results show that our proposed scheme using Radio Resource Allocation Table (RRAT) can efficiently support MBS services by providing dynamic schedule for MBS service channels.
Studies of compact radio sources since the discovery of quasars have revealed a variety of physical properties: both in morphology and kinematics from sub-parsec to Mega-parsec scales, radiation mechanisms at frequencies from the radio to ${\gamma}$-rays, theoretical models for relativistic jets, etc. The frontier discovery of Very Long Baseline Interferometry (VLBI) observations for the compact extragalactic radio sources have triggered the extensive studies to investigate the underlying physics of the relativistic jets. In this context, the highest resolution VLBI surveys of ultra-compact radio sources provide the potentially important statistical basis for future study. As a tool of this study, a new millimeter VLBI network in Korea, the Korean VLBI Network (KVN) will paly an important role. We present results from large VLBI surveys of compact radio sources at millimeter wavelengths and discuss the prospects with the KVN on this study.
This paper studies the uplink resource allocation for multiple radio access (MRA) in reconfigurable radio systems, where multiple-input and multiple-output (MIMO) multicarrier-code division multiple access (MC-CDMA) and MIMO orthogonal frequency-division multiple access (OFDMA) networks coexist. By assuming multi-radio user equipment with network-guided operation, the optimal resource allocation for MRA is analyzed as a cross-layer optimization framework with and without fairness consideration to maximize the uplink sum-rate capacity. Numerical results reveal that parallel MRA, which uses MC-CDMA and OFDMA networks concurrently, outperforms the performance of each MC-CDMA and OFDMA network by exploiting the multiuser selection diversity.

In radio-over-fiber (RoF) systems, nonlinear compensation is very important to meet the error vector magnitude (EVM) requirement of the mobile network standards. In this study, a nonlinear compensation technique based on an artificial neural network (ANN) is proposed for RoF systems. This technique is based on a backpropagation neural network (BPNN) with one hidden layer and three neuron units in this study. The BPNN obtains the inverse response of the system to compensate for nonlinearities. The EVM of the signal is measured by changing the number of neurons and the hidden layers in a RoF system modeled by a measured data. Based on our simulation results, it is concluded that one hidden layer and three neuron units are adequate for the RoF system. Our results showed that the EVMs were improved from 4.027% to 2.605% by using the proposed ANN compensator.

We present the results of flux monitoring of BL Lac object 0716+71 and 0954+65 at 22GHz and 43GHz. Both of the flat spectrum radio sources are known as Intraday variables (IDVs) which are characterized by fast flux variation on time scales of a day or less. In general, the IDV phenomenon is interpreted as the effect of refractive scintillation in the interstellar medium or the evidence of source intrinsic flux variation. The observations were made simultaneously at 22GHz and 43GHz with KVN Yonsei 21m radio telescope.
