가벼운 란탄족 원소 착물의 전기화학적 연구 (제 1 보) (Electrochemical Studies of Light Lantanide Complexes (Part 1))

  • 염기성 용액에서 가벼운 란탄족 원소 착물의 전기화학적 거동을 직류(DC), 펄스차이 폴라로그래피(DPP), 순환전압전류법(CV) 및 정전위 전기분해법으로 조사하였다. 란탄이온들은 NaCl 지지전해질에서 o-cresolphthalexon(OCP)과 1:1로 배위하였으며, 전극반응은 2단계 1전자 환원반응이었다. 착물의 반파전위는 pH에 따라 변화하였으며 환원전류는 흡착성을 나타냈다. DC 및 CV에서 첫번째 1전자 환원반응은 유사가역적 거동을 나타냈으며, 환원 뒤에 형성된 음이온 라디칼은 이합체와 반응을 하였다. 두번째 환원파는 전자전이 반응에 이어 생성된 카르보 음이온의 빠른 양성자 첨가반응으로 비가역적 거동을 나타냈다. -1.80V에서 정전위 전해시간이 증가함에 따라 착물의 질은 청색은 점점 옅어져서 무색이 되었으며, 최종생성물은 전기적으로 비활성이었다. 따라서 Ln-OCP 착물의 단계적인 전극반응은 ECEC 메카니즘으로 제안되었다.

1,2-Dichloroethane 내 백금 전극에서의 dicarboximide 레이저 염료에 대한 convolutive 순환 전압-전류법 연구 (Convolutive Cyclic Voltammetry Investigation of Dicarboximide Laser Dye at a Platinum Electrode in 1,2-Dichloroethane)

  • N,N-bis(2,5-di-tert-butylphenyl) - 3,4,9,10 perylenebis(dicarboximide) 레이저 염료에 대한 전기화학적 연구가 0.1 M tetrabutyl ammonium perchlorate(TBAP)/1,2 dichloroethane($CH_2Cl-CH_2Cl$) 용액내에서 백금 전극을 이용하여 순환 전압-전류법 및 디지털 시뮬레이션 기술과 결합된 convolution-deconvolution 전압-전류법으로 수행되었다. 연구에 사용된 염료는 두개의 전자를 순차적으로 소모하며 radiacal anion과 dianion으로(EE 메커니즘) 환원되었다. 전위를 positive scan으로 전환하면, 이 화합물은 두 개의 전자를 잃고 산화된 뒤 빠른 응집 과정($EC_1EC_2$ 메커니즘)을 거치게 된다. 이 화합물의 전극 반응 경로, 화학 및 전기화학적 파라미터는 순환 전압-전류법과 convolutive 전압-전류법을 이용하여 측정되었다. 이렇게 구한 전기화학적 파라미터는 디지털 시뮬레이션 방법을 통하여 검증되었다.

알칼리성 용매에서 과망간에 의한 세프포독심 프록세틸의 산화의 분광광도법적 조사: 속도론적 연구 (Spectrophotometric Investigation of Oxidation of Cefpodoxime Proxetil by Permanganate in Alkaline Medium: A Kinetic Study)

  • 일정한 이온 세기의 알칼리 용액에서 과망간산에 의한 프포독심 프록세틸(Cefpodoxime Proxetil) 의 산화의 속도론적 경로가 분광광도법적으로 연구되었다. 그 반응은 과망간산 이온 농도에서 일차 속도론적으로 나타났으며, 프포독심 산과 알칼리 농도에서 단일 이하의 차수를 나타내었다. 용매의 이온 세기가 증가함에 따라 속도도 증가하였다. 산화 반응은 프포독심 산과 함께 복합체를 형성하는 알칼리-과망간산 종들을 통하여 진행된다. 반응물을 만들기 위해서 프포독심 산의 자유 라디칼과 과망간산의 다른 분자 사이의 빠른 반응에 이어서 다음 분해가 천천히 진행된다. 다양한 온도에서 반응의 조사는 제안하는 메커니즘의 느린 단계를 고려한 활성화 변수들의 결정할 수 있게 하고 일차 속도론을 따른다. 제안하는 메커니즘과 유도된 속도 법칙들은 관찰된 속도들과 일치하였다.

마이크로파가 인가된 화염에서의 주파수 특성과 오염물질 생성 (Flickering Frequency and Pollutants Formation in Microwave Induced Diffusion Flames)

  • The use of electromagnetic wave has been interested in various energy industry because it enhances a flame stability and provides higher safety environments. However it might increase the pollutant emissions such as NOx and soot, and have harmful influence on human and environments. Therefore, it is very important to understand interaction mechanism between flame and electromagnetic wave from environmental point of view. In this study, an experiment was performed with jet diffusion flames induced by electromagnetic wave. Microwave was used as representative electromagnetic wave and a flickering flame was introduced to simulate the more similar combustion condition to industry. The results show that the induced microwave enhances the flame stability and blowout limit. The unstable lifted flickering flames under low fuel/oxidizer velocity is changed to stable attached flames or lift-off flames when microwave applied to the flames, which results from the abundance of radical pool. However, NOx emission was increased monotonically with increasing the microwave power as microwave power increased up to 1.0 kW. The effects might be attributed to the heating of combustion field and thermal NOx mechanism will be prevailed. Soot particle was examined at the post flame region by TEM grid. The morphology of soot particle sampled in the microwave induced flames was similar to the incipient soot that is not agglomerated and contain a lots of liquid phase hydrocarbon such as PAH, which soot particle formed near reaction zone is oxidized on the extended yellow flame region and hence only unburned young particles are emitted on the post flame region.

FARFARE FLOS의 항산화 기전을 통한 산화적 스트레스 및 염증 반응 억제효과 (Suppressive Effect of FARFARE FLOS Extracts on Oxidative Stress and Inflammatory Response through the Antioxidative Mechanism)

  • There is currently increased interest in the identification of antioxidant compounds that are pharmacologically potent and have low or no side effects. Plants produce significant amounts of antioxidants to prevent the oxidative stress caused by photons and oxygen, therefore they represent a potential source of new compounds with antioxidant activity. FARFARE FLOS has been frequently used on the respiratory system including bronchitis, phthisis. In this study, the antioxidant activity of extract from FF was studied in vitro methods by measuring the antioxidant activity by TEAC, measuring the scavenging effects on reactive oxygen species (ROS) [superoxide anion, hydroxyl radical] and on reactive nitrogen species (RNS) [nitric oxide and peroxynitrite] as well as measuring the inhibitory effect on Cu2+-induced human LDL oxidation. The FF extracts were found to have a potent scavenging activity, as well as an inhibitory effect on LDL oxidation. And this study was designed to evaluate whether FFEA may ameliorate oxidative stress and inflammatory status through the antioxidative mechanism in LPS-stimulated RAW 264.7 murine macrophage cell line. Treatment of RAW 264.7 cells with FFEA significantly reduced LPS-stimulated inflammatory response in a dose-dependent manner. In conclusion, the FF extracts have anti-oxidative and anti-inflammatory effects in vitro system, which can be used for developing pharmaceutical drug against oxidative stress and atherosclerosis.

Accumulation of Chlorogenic Acid as a near UV-shielding Compound in Cauliflower Grown under Enhanced UV-B Radiation

  • Since solar radiation contains wavelength essential for photosynthesis accompanying with near-UV light, UV-B effects on biological parameters and acclimation mechanisms are influenced by photosynthetically active radiation (PAR). Therefore, to elucidate near-UV shielding mechanism in higher plants, we cultivated cauliflower under usual solar radiation and increased UV-B from fluorescent lamps, two- or three-fold excess over continuously estimated UV-B dose in PAR during daytime, using computer regulated systems. Increased UV-B radiation had little effect on growth expressed as fresh weigh and leaf area. Water soluble low molecular weight compounds showing absorption in near UV region were enhanced according to the irradiated UV-B dose. One of compounds in cauliflower leaves was identified as chlorogenic acid. This was found to have no near-UV photosenSitizerable activity and is known to have an ability to scavenge a wide species of active oxygen. Another pro-oxidant compound that generates superoxide anion radical under near-UV irradiation was not induced by increased UV-B during cultivation, and identified as lumazine, a degradation product from folic acid.

산소부화된 $H_{2}/O_{2}/N_{2}$ 예혼합 화염에서 첨가제가 NOx 생성에 미치는 영향 연구 (The Study of Effects of Additives on the NOx Formation in $H_{2}/O_{2}/N_{2}$ Premixed Flames with Oxygen Enrichments)

  • Numerical simulations are performed at atmospheric pressure in order to understand the effect of additives on flame speed and the NOx formation in freely propagating $H_{2}/O_{2}/N_{2}$ flames with oxygen enrichments. A chemical kinetic mechanism is developed, which involves 26 gas-phase species and 99 reactions. Under several equivalence ratios and oxygen enrichments, flame speeds are calculated and compared with those obtained from the experiments, the results of which is in good agreement. As hydrogen chloride as additive is added into $H_{2}/O_{2}/N_{2}$ flames with low oxygen enrichments, its chemical effect causes the decrease of flame speed, radical concentration, and the NO production rate. It is found that the chemical effect of additive has much more influence on the reduction of EINO than its physical effect. However, in flames with very high flame temperature the physical effect rather than the chemical effect becomes more important on the reduction of EINO.

유기용매에서의 CiP [coprinus cinereus peroxidase]의 안정성 (In the presence of organic solvent stability of CiP [coprinus cinereus peroxidase])

  • CiP를 이용한 유기합성은 주로 유기용매와 완충용액을 섞어서 반응을 한다. 하지만 단순히 유기용매 상에서 효소의 활성도를 측정한 것이 아니라, 과산화수소가 있을 경우에 효소의 활성도를 측정한 결과는 예상과는 다르게 순수한 완충용액에서 보다 유기용매를 포함하고 있는 것이 더 높게 나타났다. 또한 유기용매의 비율을 증가가 될수록 효소의 활성도가 더 높게 나타났으며, 특히 2-propanol이 33%가 포함이 된 경우에는 순수한 완충용액보다 효소의 활성도가 크게 증가가 되는 것을 관찰을 할 수가 있었다. 이러한 효소의 활성도가 유기용매가 포함이 된 조건에서 높게 나는 이유는 유기용매가 CiP에 의해 생성된 반응성이 높은 라디칼을 포집을 하여서, CiP의 활성 부위인 heme의 파괴를 막는 것에 크게 기여하는 것으로 판단이 되었다.

LPS로 유도된 RAW 264.7 대식세포주에서 내소황련탕(內疎黃連湯)의 항염증 기전 및 항산화 효능 연구 (Anti-inflammatory mechanism and Anti-oxidant Effects of Naesohwangryun-tang in LPS-Stimulated RAW 264.7 Macrophage Cells)

  • Objectives : The aim of experiment is to examine anti-inflammatory effect and anti-oxidant effect of Naesohwangryun-tang (NSHRT) in LPS-stimulated RAW264.7 macrophage cells. Methods : In the present study, The cell viability was performed by MTT assay. Nitric oxide (NO) production and prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) synthesis were performed by NO assay and ELISA KIT. The anti-oxidant effect was performed by DPPH and ABTS radical scavenging activity. The inhibitory effects of pro-inflammatory mediators and cytokines were confirmed by realtime PCR and western blotting. Results : NSHRT was no cytotoxicity at treated group. NO and PGE2 production were inhibited compared to the LPS treated group and also mRNA and protein expressions were significantly decreased compared to the LPS treated group. Conclusions : According to the above experiments, we confirmed that NSHRT has anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant effects. It is suggested that NSHRT is potential ingredient of skin diseases.

SENSITIZED PHOTOINITIATING SYSTEM USED IN PHOTOPOLYMER FILMS

  • Photploymer films are widely used in printing and electronic industries, and their usage is expanding to encompass holography, data storage and data processing, optical waveguides and compact disks, etc. One of widely used photoplymerization initiator, 20chloro-hexaarylbiimidazole (o-Cl-HABI), is studied by laser flash photolysis in dichloromethane solution in the absence and presence of the visible light photosensitizing dye, 2, 5-bis[(2, 3, 6, 7 -tetrahydro- 1H, 5H -benzo [i, j,] quinolizin -1-yl) methylene]-cyclopenta-none, (JAW). In the presence of JAW, an increase in triarylimidazolyl radicals L.formation is observed in relative to the absence of JAW. The mechanism of this photosensitizing dissociation is concluded as the dissociation of the o-Cl-HABI radical anion formed by the electron transfer from excited singlet state of JAW to o-Cl-HABI. The observed formation of L.radicals exhibits a linear dependence on o-Cl-HABI concentration. The rate constant of electron transfer obtained from this dependence is equal to (1.0$\pm$0.2) x $10^9 M^{-1}s^{-1}$. No reaction between the excited triplet state of JAW and o-Cl-HABI is found.
