Radiation monitoring system is needed at nuclear power plant and nuclear facility. Manual survey techniques are commonly used, but they are time consuming and somewhat inaccurate. Automatic radiation surveys are very important because it provides significant savings in men-rem and wages. Unmanned, remote automatic radiation measurement system should be small and light-weighted in order to mount on robotic system. The system we have developed consists of detection parts, signal processing part, interface, and software part. Position information is provided by using of a collimator. The measurement process is achieved by the scanning of detector and image processing techniques are used to display radiation levels. We designed collimators, detectors, signal processing circuit, and constructed prototype system. The goal of this system is the mapping of camera image and radiation level distribution.
This paper describes the counting-loss problem for radiation measurement Multi-channel analyzers and spectrometers adopt various techniques for compensation for counting-losses in process-ing the radiation pulses from a detector. Researchers hate tried to seek the best solution for the problem. However, any absolute solution has not been reached and vendors of radiation instruments use their own algorithms individually. This survey explains the various compensation algorithms with electronic implementation approach. Shortcomings and merits of each algorithm are also reviewed and a direction is suggested of the recommendable development strategy for counting-loss compensation.

Purpose : For qualify improvement in radiotherapy, it is important to set up and evaluate equipment (linac) accurately. In addition, technicians are needed to be fully aware of the equipment's detailed quality and its manual. Therefore, the result of ATP is evaluated and introduced, in order that the technicians are skilled by participating in quality assurance (QA) and understanding the quality of the equipment before clinical use. Method and Material : QA for LINAC 21EX (Varian, US) was done with suppliers its procedure was divided into radiation survey, mechanical test, radiation isocenter test, bean performance, dosimetry, and enhanced dynamic wedge and using X-omat film (Kodak), multidata, densitometer, and electrometer. QA of MLC (Millennium, 120 leaf) attached to LINAC and EPID (Portal vision) were done separately. Result : The leakage dose by survey meter was below the tolerance. In mechanical test, collimater, gantry, and couch rotation were less than 1mm, and the angles were ${\pm}0.1^{\circ}$ for digital and ${\pm}0.5^{\circ}$ for mechanical. The alignment test of the light field and crosshair were evaluated less than 1mm. The (a)symmetrical jaw field was less than ${\pm}0.5mm$. The radiation isocenter test using X-mat film was less than 1mm. The consistency of light field and radiation field was less than ${\pm}0.1mm$. PDD for photon energy was less than ${\pm}1\%$ and for electron energy of $90\%,\;80\%,\;50\%,\;and\;30\%$ were evaluated within the tolerance. Flatness for photon and electron energy was evaluated $2.3\%$ (tolerance $3\%$) and $3\%$ (tolerance $4.5\%$), respectively, and symmetry was $0.45\%$ (tolerance $2\%$) and $0.3\%$ (tolerance $2\%$), respectively. Dosimetry test for short term, MU setting, rep rate, and dose rate accuracy of photon and electron energy was within the tolerance depending on energy, MU, and gantry angle. Conclusion : Accuracy and safety for clinical use of Clinac 21EX was verified through customer acceptance procedure and the quality of the equipment was found out. These can reduce the difficulties in using the equipment. Furthermore, it is useful for clinically treatment of patients by technicians' active participations.
The purpose of this study to survey radiation workers' knowledge, attitude and behavior related to radiation safety management at medical institutions as an educational approach to radiation safety management and to accumulate materials in continuity of past data and, by doing so, to examine changes over time, to analyze long-term trends systematically and to derive ground data for establishing radiation safety control plans to prevent health disorders caused by radiation not only in radiation workers but also in ordinary people. For these purposes, a questionnaire survey was conducted with radiation workers at medical institutions throughout the country for around 40 days in 2001 and 2006. The results are summarized as follows. 1. The levels of knowledge, attitude and behavior related to radiation safety management were all higher in 2006 than in 2001. 2. Statistically significant correlations were observed between knowledge and attitude, between behavior and knowledge and between attitude and behavior in both 2001 and 2006. In particular, the correlation between attitude and behavior were higher in 2006 than in 2001, suggesting that radiation workers' attitude has been improved. 3. Factors affecting radiation workers' behavior related to radiation safety management were knowledge and attitude in both 2001 and 2006, and the effect of attitude was higher than that of knowledge.

Methods : This study mentioned mainly self-efficacy, radiation safety knowledge, attitudes for dental hygienists and the second & third year students at department of dental hygiene in Pusan area to provide the correct information associated with the use of radiation and to be aid in the development program to increase behavior levels in the RSM in dental care institutions and schools in the future and performed a survey 8 May to 7 Juiy, 2011. The survey results were as follows Results : 1. The results of self-efficacy is $3.53{\pm}0.42$ points for the dental hygienist and $3.32{\pm}0.40$ points for students(p<0.001). 2. According to the knowledge level of RSM, the result is $11.7{\pm}3.12$ points for the dental hygienist and $9.56{\pm}2.72$ points for students(p<0.001). 3. According to the knowledge level of RSM, the result is $4.40{\pm}0.49$ points for the dental hygienist and $4.22{\pm}0.56$ points for students(p<0.001). 4. According to relationship among self-efficacy, radiation safety knowledge and attitudes, the higher the score for knowledge of RSM was, the higher the score for self-efficacy was. The higher the score for attitudes was, the higher the score for self-efficacy and knowledge was(p<0.01). 5. The factors to affect attitudes about RSM were self-efficacy, knowledge(p<0.01).
Since its establishment in 2018, the Young Generation Network (YGN) has been dedicated, with support of the International Radiation Protection Association (IRPA), to a variety of activities to promote communication, collaboration and professional development of students and young professionals in the area of radiation protection and its allied fields. This article reports our recent activities from the middle of 2018 to the beginning of 2021, with highlights on some important events: "Joint JHPS-SRP-KARP Workshop of Young Generation Network" (December 2019 in Japan); contribution to "Nuclear Energy Agency Workshop on Optimization: Rethinking the Art of Reasonable" (January 2020 in Portugal); survey on the impact of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) on radiation protection among IRPA YGN members (March 2020); and contribution to IRPA15 (15th International Congress of the IRPA; January-February 2021, online). The discussion and insight obtained from each activity are also summarized. The IRPA YGN will aim to achieve its on-going activities and continue to follow the ways paved in the Strategic Agenda and despite the challenges raised by the COVID-19 pandemic. Namely, running an international survey (for example, on the usage of social media in radiation protection, and on the long-term consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic), engaging national YGNs, extending the network, finding new relationships with networks with an interest in the young generation and participation in (remote) events will be aspired for.
Since the horizontal global radiation and cloud cover are a main factor for designing any solar photovoltaic system, it is necessary to evaluate its characteristics all over the country. The work presented here are the investigation of horizontal global radiation and cloud cover in Korea. The data utilized in the investigation consist of horizontal global radiation and cloud cover collected for 27 years(1982. 12~2008. 12) at measuring stations across the country. The analysis shows that the annual-average daily horizontal global radiation is $3.61\;kWh/m^2$ and the annual-average daily cloud cover is 5.1 in Korea. We also constructed the contour map of cloud cover in Korea by interpolating actually measured data across the country.
Since the solar radiation is the main input for sizing any solar photovoltaic system, it will be necessary to understand and evaluate the solar radiation data. The works presented here are the analysis of solar radiation data for East Asia areas. The data, which consist of the global radiation on horizontal surface, were measured at 16 different stations over the South Korea and were estimated by using satellite at 12 different stations over the North Korea from 1982 to 2004. Also the data over the Japan have been collected for 30 years for the period from 1941 to 1970. The Result of the analysis shows that the annual-average daily global radiation on the horizontal surface is 3.55 kWh/$m^2$. We conclude, based on the analysis, that East Asia areas have sufficient solar energy resources for the photovoltaic power generation system.

Background: The C-arm fluoroscope is known as the most important equipment in pain interventions. This study was conducted to investigate the completion rate of education on radiation safety, the knowledge of radiation exposure, the use of radiation protection, and so on. Methods: Unsigned questionnaires were collected from the 27 pain physicians who applied for the final test to become an expert in pain medicine in 2011. The survey was composed of 12 questions about the position of the hospital, the kind of hospital, the use of C-arm fluoroscopy, radiation safety education, knowledge of annual permissible radiation dose, use of radiation protection, and efforts to reduce radiation exposure. Results: In this study, although most respondents (93%) had used C-arm fluoroscopy, only 33% of the physicians completed radiation safety education. Even though nine (33%) had received education on radiation safety, none of the physicians knew the annual permissible radiation dose. In comparing the radiation safety education group and the no-education group, the rate of wearing radiation-protective glasses or goggles and the use of radiation badges or dosimeters were significantly higher in the education group. However, in the use of other protective equipment, knowledge of radiation safety, and efforts to reduce radiation exposure, there were no statistical differences between the two groups. Conclusions: The respondents knew very little about radiation safety and had low interest in their radiation exposure. To make the use of fluoroscopy safer, additional education, as well as attention to and knowledge of practices of radiation safety are required for pain physicians.
