In this study, radiation workers who work in nuclear medicine department were analyzed to find the cause of differences of radiation exposure from General Characteristic, Knowledge, Recognition and Conduct, especially females working on nuclear medicine radiation, in order to pave the way for positive defense against radiation exposure. The subjects were 106 radiation workers who were divided into two groups of sixty-four males and forty-two females answered questions about their General Characteristic, Knowledge, Recognition, Conduct, and radiation exposure dose which was measured by TLD (Thermo Luminescence Dosimeter). The results of the analysis revealed that as the higher score of knowledge and conduct was shown, the radiation exposure decreased in female groups, and as the higher score of conduct was shown, the radiation exposure decreased in male groups. In the correlation analysis of female groups, the non-experienced in pregnancy showed decreasing amount of radiation exposure as the score of knowledge and conduct was higher and the experienced in pregnancy showed decreasing amount of radiation exposure as the score of recognition and conduct was higher. In the regression analysis on related factors of radiation exposure dose of nuclear medicine radiation workers, the gender caused the meaningful result and the amount of radiation exposure of female groups compared to male groups. In the regression analysis on related factors of radiation exposure dose of female groups, the factor of conduct showed a meaningful result and the amount of radiation exposure of the experienced in pregnancy was lower compared to the non-experienced. The conclusion of this study revealed that radiation exposure of female groups was lower than that of male groups. Therefore, male groups need to more actively defend themselves against radiation exposure. Among the female groups, the experienced in pregnancy who have an active defense tendency showed a lower radiation exposure. Thus, those who have never been pregnant need to have a more active defensive conduct for the future possibility of pregnancy.
The sea is stratified with water that has different densities because of pressure, temperature, and salinity. When conducting studies of internal waves in the ocean, the fluid is assumed to have layers that have discrete densities. This assumption is made because it is difficult to achieve layers that exhibit gradual changes in the density of the water. In this study, we used previous studies on ocean waves and their radiation issues in the density layer fluid to investigate the characteristics of internal waves in the ocean and their radiation patterns induced by a moving body in a stratified fluid. We also studied the difference in wave radiation between the density gradient layer and the discrete density layer. We found that the wave radiation patterns depended on the velocity of the moving body and the change in the density of the water. The crest apex shift phenomenon was observed in the density gradient in the layer of fluid.

The heat transfer mechanism for radiation is directly related to the emission of photons and electromagnetic waves. Depending on the participation of the medium, the radiation can be classified into two forms: surface and gas radiation. In the present study, unknown radiation properties were estimated using an inverse boundary analysis of surface radiation in an axisymmetric cylindrical enclosure. For efficiency, a repulsive particle swarm optimization (RPSO) algorithm, which is a relatively recent heuristic search method, was used as inverse solver. By comparing the convergence rates and accuracies with the results of a genetic algorithm (GA), the performances of the proposed RPSO algorithm as an inverse solver was verified when applied to the inverse analysis of the surface radiation problem.

In this study, a numerical analysis is made of the fluid flow and heat transfer characteristics in the solar arrays of HALE (High Altitude Lond Endurance) UAV. In the stratosphere where UAV operates, high level solar radiation is induced, heat transfer decreases due to natural convection and forced convection is dominated by ambient flow. In order to predict the solar array temperature range in this environment condition, the conjugate heat transfer analysis was carried out for the solar arrays on the main wing. The investigation focused on the temperature distribution of solar array and heat transfer characteristics according to influence of solar energy, flight condition as vehicle speed, air density, temperature.

This paper presents a modified TEM horn that improves radiation characteristics at a low frequency region. The proposed antenna consists of an asymmetric TEM (ATEM) horn and a loop structure with an elliptical shape. The bandwidth and gain at low frequency region can be enhanced by using the ATEM horn configuration and adding a loop structure with an elliptical shape to the ATEM horn. The bandwidth of the proposed antenna is from 2.14 to over 20 GHz, whereas that of the conventional TEM horn is from 2.7 to over 20 GHz, where the dimensions of both antennas are the same except for the thickness of the loop structure. The physical and electrical dimensions of the proposed antenna are $60mm{\times}62.5mm{\times}64mm$ ($width{\times}height{\times}length$) and $0.428{\lambda}_L{\times}0.445{\lambda}_L{\times}0.456{\lambda}_L$, where ${\lambda}_L$ corresponds to the lowest frequency of the bandwidth. The realized gain of the proposed antenna is improved by 0.802 dB on average at the low frequency region (2 to 8 GHz), where the maximum gain increase is 2.932 dB when compared to a conventional TEM horn.

Many of steel structures having little internal damping consist of stiffened plates. In case that viscoelastic materials are adhered to the stiffened plates for the reduction of structure-borne noise, their effects are varied by the adhered position and dynamic characteristics of the structures as well as their material properties and adhered amount. In this paper, sound reduction effects of viscoelastic materials partially adhered to the different positions of a stiffened steel plate have been investigated by the measurement of vibratory velocity and sound intensity. The results show that optimal adherent positions of viscoelastic materials to reduce sound radiation power are the loop areas of modes.
This paper presents a simplified analytical formulation for computing acoustic power radiation from a rectangular plate exposed to random forces such as turbulent boundary layer pressure fluctuations and arbitrary mechanical force in a subsonic flow field. The expression for the acoustic power is derived using modal expansion method and light fluid loading is assumed on the plate. In order to simplify the formulation for acoustic power due to combined excitations of mechanical forces and turbulent pressures, it is assumed that the structural damping of the plate is small and excitations are broadband random forces having frequency spectra above the convective coincidence. Under these assumptions, an approximate solution for the broadband acoustic power radiation from a plate excited by both turbulent pressures and arbitrary mechanical forces is obtained and evaluated considering the effect of modal coupling on the radiated acoustic power. An efficient method is also suggested to compute modal acoustic impedance in a moving fluid medium by using averaged Green function.

In the article of instability on the peak power level, duration and repetition period of a multifrequency space-time signal, we calculated the maximum values of the errors of the parameters of the laws of spatial-phase-frequency control. Requirements for the accuracy of the location of the phase centers of the emitters in a cylindrical phased array antenna with pyramidal horns; it is advisable to calculate the radiation field using single-stage and multi-stage distribution laws. The phase centers of individual radiation sources of a cylindrical phased array antenna have been studied; they have almost no effect on the duration and period of recurrence.

Gears, which rotate and transmit power by interlocking two cogwheels, were invented in BC. They have been used in various systems, including industrial machinery, transportation devices, and living facilities, through the industrial revolution. Regardless of how they are used, gears are a major source of noise and vibration. Many effective measures are being taken to reduce the radiation noise generated from gears, most commonly by lubrication. Lubrication in gear units reduces friction on interlocking gear surfaces, dampening radioactive noise. This can be very useful for quiet gear design if these lubricating damping effects can be reflected in the analytical phase for gear design. This study experimentally confirms the properties of lubricated and non-lubricated radioactive noise by designing a decelerator gearbox and analyzing the radioactive noise characteristics by torque, rotation, and the number of gears using computer analysis.

An intensive measurement was conducted to study the mass and number concentrations of atmospheric aerosols in Anheung ($36.679^{\circ}N$, $126.186^{\circ}E$), the west coastal measurement site of Korea during December 2017~April 2018. To evaluate relationships between the aerosols and meteorological parameters, comparisons of Optical Particle Counter (OPC) measured data and Auto Weather System (AWS) data were performed. Measured PM mass concentrations are $PM_{10}=42.814{\pm}30.103{\mu}g/m^3$, $PM_{2.5}=29.674{\pm}25.063{\mu}g/m^3$, $PM_1=28.958{\pm}24.658{\mu}g/m^3$, respectively. The PM ratios showed that the $PM_{10}$ concentrations contained about 67.8% of $PM_{2.5}$, while most part of $PM_{2.5}$ was $PM_1$ (about 97.1%). Timely collocation with AWS data were performed, exploring relations with the PM concentrations. PM concentrations can be explained by wind direction and relative humidity conditions. The significant reductions of fine particles in mass and number concentrations may attribute to actions on particle growth and wet removal. In these results, we suppose that the aerosol concentrations and size distributions are affected by inflow direction and air mass sources from the origin.
