단일루프 배전계통과 방사상 배전계통의 순간정전을 고려한 신뢰도 비교 연구 (A Comparative Study for Reliability of Single and Radial Power Distribution System considering Momentary Interruption)

  • The structure of a power distribution system will change in a loop configuration such as in the case of a smart grid. If power distribution system changes radial to loop form, the structure may have to be changed significantly. Therefore, we analyzed the reliability indices and calculated a CIC(Customer Interruption Cost) for the loop power distribution system. The power distribution system reliability depends on the protection scheme. This study is applied to the current protection scheme method and is compared with each model. When the CIC was evaluated, most studies performed calculations only for sustained interruptions. However, in actuality, momentary interruption frequencies occurred more than sustain interruptions. Thus, it is occurred the CIC additively. Therefore, we evaluated a CIC including momentary interruption, for each model, and then compared with MAIFI(Momentary Average Interruption Frequency Index)

  • In this paper, we proposed the method judging whether transmission system is radial system or loop system using simple set theory. And we proposed the method judging whether power device's operation causes of blackout or not. Using proposed method, we developed automatic judgement system of radial system for preventing power device's wrong control in SCADA. Finally, we simulated a variety of case study using SCADA simulator with developed system, and verified reliability of the result and performance of developed system.

  • The domestic power distribution system is operating in an open loop mode; however, it already has a loop structure. Power distribution systems must be changed for bi-directions power supply for smart networks due to a changing of paradigm in electric power industry. The simplest bi-directions distribution networks can make it closing of normally open switch. However, bi-directions power supply is very difficulty to be operated and there are many parts which it must study. This paper presented various models that are able to change a radial system for loop structures. Further, we compared the reliability index for each model by evaluating the amount of improvement reliability required in radial power distribution system. In addition, we calculated CIC(Customer Interruption Cost) for each model by comparing and analyzing.

  • A superconductor flywheel energy storage system (SFES) is an electro-mechanical battery which transforms electrical energy into mechanical energy for storage, and vice versa. Many aspects of the quasi-static behavior of flywheel rotors still need to be studied closely, and the rotors require a stable and highly efficient supporting system such as high temperature superconductor (HTS) bearings, which offer dynamic stability without the use of active control. Quasi-static properties of HTS bearings in the radial direction provide data to solve problems which may occur in a running system. Since stiffness in countering rotor vibration is the main parameter for designing an HTS bearing system, we investigated the quasi-static properties of the magnetic force between permanent magnets(PMs) and HTS bulks in the radial direction. We measured radial stiffness, and discovered that bearing stiffness varied greatly depending on the number of active HTS bulks. This is valuable data for predicting the change in stiffness during partial HTS bearing failure. The quasi-static test results are used for optimal design and performance prediction for the 100 kWh class superconductor bearing.

최대유량역에서 소형 축류 홴의 3차원 난류유동 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Three-Dimensional Turbulent Flour Characteristics of a Small-sized Axial Fan at the Maximum Flowrate Region)

  • This study represents three-dimensional turbulent flow characteristics around an axial fan measured at the operating point ${\varphi}=0.32$, which is equivalent to the maximum flowrate region, by using three-dimensional fiber-optic type LDA system. This LDA system is composed of a 5 W Argon-ion laser, two optics in back-scatter mode, three BSA's, a PC, and a three-dimensional automatic traversing system. A kind of paraffin fog is used for laser particles in this study. Mean velocity profiles around an axial fan along the downstream radial distance show that the streamwise and the tangential components exist as a predominant velocity and have the maximum value at the radial distance ratio 0.8, while the radial component has a small scale distribution and its flow direction is inward except a part of blade tip. The turbulent intensity profiles show that the radial component exists the most greatly. And also the turbulent kinetic energy shows about 60% as a maximum value at the radial distance ratio 0.9. Moreover, the Reynolds shear stresses do not exist at upstream flow, but the streamwise and the radial components of them show about 20% as a maximum value at the radial distance ratio 0.9 at downstream flow.

Radial Basis Function Neural Network for Power System Transient Energy Margin Estimation

  • This paper presents a method for estimating the transient stability status of the power system using radial basis function(RBF) neural network with a fast hybrid training approach. A normalized transient energy margin(${\Delta}V_n$) has been obtained by the potential energy boundary surface(PEBS) method along with a time-domain simulation technique, and is used as an output of the RBF neural network. The RBF neural network is then trained to map the operating conditions of the power system to the ${\Delta}V_n$, which provides a measure of the transient stability of the power system. The proposed approach has been successfully applied to the 10-machine 39-bus New England test system, and the results are given.

  • In this study, we evaluate the effectiveness of a switch installation between on the radial and loop lateral feeders to increase reliability by decreasing the duration of the outage. These results can help power utility to design the switch layouts on the radial and loop lateral feeder system.

  • Recently, protection coordination issues can occur due to increased fault current in power system when power system being changed radial power system to grid system such as loop power system, micro grid and smart grid. This paper analyzed Recloser-Fuse coordination in loop power distribution system with Superconducting Fault Current Limiters(SFCLs) when single line ground fault occur in loop power distribution system with SFCLs. We analyzed Recloser-Fuse Coordination in radial power distribution system and changed coordination caused by increased Fault current because of loop system when single line ground fault occur in power distribution system. This paper simulated to improve changed coordination using SFCLs in loop power distribution system. Power distribution system, SFCLs and protective devices are modeled using PSCAD/EMTDC.

  • This paper presents an application of a improved branch exchange (IBE) algorithm with a tie branch power (TBP) flow equation to solve the Optimal Routing problem for operation of a radial Power system including power distribution system. The main objective of the Optimal Routing problem usually is to minimize the network real power loss and to improve the voltage profile in the network. The new BE algorithm adopts newly designed methods which are composed by decision method of maximum loss reduction and new index of loss exchange in loop network Thus, the proposed algorithm in this paper can search the optimal topological structures of distribution feeders by changing the open/closed states of the sectionalizing and tie switches. The proposed algorithm has been evaluated with the practical IEEE 32, 69 bus test systems and KEPCO 148 bus test system to show favorable performance gained.

  • In ahigh power amplifier design, power combiner/divider is used to connect low power amplifiers in parallel. The raidal structure of the powe combiner/divider has not only a good characteristics of port-to-port isolation but also an advantage of giving a redundancy to the structure itself by using RF switches. The parastics of a power resistor, that would be a problem in design process, are removed by both slot lines and cavity resonators, and the comon node in the circuit is rdesigned as a planar topology, and thus a new type of 4-way radial power combiner/divider is accomplished at 1840 ~ 1870 MH PCS frequency band. The insertion loss, reflection, and isolation characteristics of 40way radial power combiner/divider which can be adaptable to PCS system in this thesis are -0.3dB, -24dB,a dn -27dB respectively.
