  • In this paper, the design of 64 array antennas applied to RWP (Radar Wind Profiler) was described. The design point of the antenna is to ensure isolation between each element and to match the vertical / horizontal radiation pattern. To this end, a single element of the array antenna was proposed as a Bend dipole type, and through simulation, When sequentially sending 5 beams including vertical, the east/west/south/north direction was ±20°, and it was confirmed that no Grating Lobe occurred when steering the beam. The 64 array antenna proposed in this paper was designed with performance equal to or higher than that of overseas products, and was confirmed to be applicable to RWP.

  • The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of the addition of red wine on the physicochemical properties ana sensory score of cooked pork patties. The samples consisted of the pork patty without red wine(control), and 1, 3 and 5% red wine(RWP-1, 3 and 5, respectively). There were no significantly differences in the moisture$(58.1\sim58.7%)$, crude protein$(15.9\sim16.3%)$ crude fat$(23.2\sim23.7%)$, and crude ash$(2.7\sim2.9%)$ contents, and the Hunter's $a^*-value(0.2\sim0.6)$, cooking loss$(16.5\sim19.2%)$, VBN$(11.9\sim15.6mg%)$, total bacterial count($(11.9\sim15.6mg%)$ Log cfu/mL), hardness$(3,193\sim3,336\;dyne/cm^2)$, springiness$(75.8\sim79.7%)$, cohesiveness$(47.8\sim52.1%)$, gumminess$(489\sim509kg)$, chewiness$(183\sim209g)$ and strength $(1,144\sim1,199g)$ between the pork patties. Of the pork patties the $L^*$ value of the control and the b value of RWP-5 were the lowest(p<0.05). The pH and TBARS value of RWP-5 were the lowest of all the pork patties. The flavor of RWP-5 was superior to that of the other pork patties, and the taste, texture, juiciness and palatability of RWP-3 and RWP-5 were superior to those of the control and RWP-1. In conclusion, the addition of 5% red wine was most suitable for enhancing the physicochemical properties and sensory score of pork patties.

  • In this study, we have investigated the effects of upstream rectangular winglet pair (RWP) on the heat/mass transfer coefficients in a dimple. Dimple print diameter was fixed at 20mm and the dimple depth was 4.0mm (0.4H). The dimple surface was coated with naphthalene for mass transfer experiment and the test plate was positioned at a rectangular straight duct whose aspect ratio (W/H) was 20. A rectangular winglet pair was positioned at y/d=-2.5. The RWP angle ($\beta$) was varied from $15^{\circ}$ to $60^{\circ}$. The Reynolds number, based on the duct height (H), was 5,000. with changing the RWP angle ($\beta$), the induced vortices had different flow characteristics; longitudinal or transversal vortices. These variation of induced vortices affected on the heat/mass transfer characteristics in the dimple.

  • Since radar wind profiler (RWP) provides wind field data with high time and space resolution in all weather conditions, their verification of the accuracy and quality is essential. The simultaneous wind measurement from rawinsonde is commonly used to evaluate wind vectors from RWP. In this study, the simulation algorithm which produces the spectrum and raw time series (I/Q) data from the average values of moments is presented as a step-by-step verification method for the signal processing algorithm. The possibility of the simulation algorithm was also confirmed through comparison with the raw data of LAP-3000. The Doppler power spectrum was generated by assuming the density function of the skew-normal distribution and by using the moment values as the parameter. The simulated spectrum was generated through random numbers. In addition, the coherent averaged I/Q data was generated by random phase and inverse discrete Fourier transform, and raw I/Q data was generated through the Dirichlet distribution.

  • This paper discusses the design of a ground clutter prevention fence for a radar wind profiler (RWP). The design point of the clutter fence is to improve the quality of the received signal by removing the non-weather clutter coming from the side. In this paper, a clutter prevention fence composed of a metallash mesh around the RWP is proposed, and the phase center of the antenna, the length, and height of the down fence, and the height and slop of the top fence through M&S are designed. The designed ground clutter prevention fence and 256 active phase array antennas were used as basic data. The effectiveness of the design was confirmed by a simulation. The side lobe in the ±90° direction was reduced by more than 30dB depending on the presence or absence of the designed ground clutter prevention fence. The fence was manufactured by 3D modeling, and the clutter shielding performance of approximately 20dB or more on the side of the antenna (±90°) was confirmed by applying it to the currently operated RWP.

  • A variety of routing protocols targeted specifically at mobile ad-hoc network environments have been developed. Mobile ad-hoc network is a self-organizing temporary network, operating without the aid of any established wired infrastructure. The proposed protocol supports seamless communication services between the mobile hosts within a mobile ad-hoc network environments. In particular, our protocol makes faster route re-establishment possible by maintaining multiple paths in each mobile host, and also, the protocol provides reliable communication environments. We compare the performance of RWP model with that of LW model. This paper shows delivery ratio with single path and non-disjoint multiple path according to mobility model and node numbers.

  • In this paper, the phased-array transceiver (TRX) channel amplitude and phase calibration method for a radar wind profiler (RWP) based on the 256 active phased array is discussed. Without the additional module, the TX and RX calibration paths were secured using couplers and switches in the TRX front ends and the TRX switching duplexers, and the amplitude and phase of the 256 TRX were calibrated using a gain and phase detector. The beam widths and side lobes of five beams (vertical, east, west, south, and north) of the calibrated 256 active phased array antenna were confirmed by a near-field which agreed well with the simulation results. The proposed calibration method can be easily applied to a system based on an active phased array operated in an outdoor environment.

  • It is compared the structures of the S-block in the Ba-Co-Zn Y-type hexagonal ferrites (Ba2Co2-xZnxFe12O22, x=0~2) and the Co-Zn spinel ferrites (Co1-xZnxFe2O4, x=0~1) expressed by a hexagonal axis system (space group R3m). The structures have been refined with a Rietveld analysis of the powder X-ray diffraction pattern with high precision (Rwp<0.13, RI<0.03). The overal dimension of the S-block is slightly different from the 1/3 of a hexagonal spinel unit cell as follow: 1.6~2.0% longer c-axis, 1.3~1.6% shorter a-axis and about 1% smaller volume. Upto Zn:Co=1:1 in the Ba-Co-Zn Y-type hexagonal ferrites, the zinc substitute primarily the tetrahedral sites in the S-block. Beyond that the zinc seems to go into the T-block as well.
