포장지에 따른 건조, 구이, 조미김의 저장 안전성과 Chlorophyll 함량에 관한 연구 (Effects of Packaging on Storage Stability and Chlorophyll Contents of Dried, Roasted and Roasted-Seasoned Laver during Storage)

  • The relationship between storage stability and chlorophyll contents of dried laver(DL), roasted laver(RL) and roasted seasoned laver(RSL) according to packaging during storage at 20$\pm$0.5$^{\circ}C$ were investigated by measuring the acid value(AV) and the peroxide value(POV). There results are as follows; 1.The storage stability was decreased in the rank of 0 < 3< 6 < 9 months by storage term, RL < DL < RSL by the kind of laver products and PP/PE/AL/PE/LLDPE(Al) < PP/PE(PP) y packaging. 2. When the silica gel was added to RSL, the storage stability was improved. The more the addition level of silica gel was increased, the more the storage stability was improved. The rank order was 2g < 4g in RSL. 3. Reduction of the total chlorophyll content in RSL were deacreased to 10% when packed with Al and 24% when packed with PP.

  • The remaining service life (RSL) of buildings has been an important issue in the field of building and facility management, and its development is also one of the essential factors for achieving sustainable infrastructure. Since the estimation of RSL of buildings is heavily affected by the subjectivity of individual inspector or engineer, much effort has been placed in the development of a rational method that can estimate the RSL of existing buildings more quantitatively using objective measurement indices. Various uncertain factors contribute to the deterioration of the structural performance of buildings, and most of the common building structures are constructed not with a single structural member but with various types of structural components (e.g., beams, slabs, and columns) in multistory floors. Most existing RSL estimation methods, however, consider only an individual factor. In this study, an estimation method for RSL of concrete buildings is presented by utilizing a fuzzy theory to consider the effects of multiple influencing factors on the deterioration of durability (e.g., concrete carbonation, chloride attack, sulfate attack), as well as the current structural condition (or damage level) of buildings.

Leaves of Raphanus sativus L. Shows Anti-Inflammatory Activity in LPS-Stimulated Macrophages via Suppression of COX-2 and iNOS Expression.

  • Raphanus sativus L. (RS) is a cruciferous vegetable that is widely consumed in Korea. The anticancer activity of leaves of RS (RSL) extract has been investigated; however, no studies focused on its anti-inflammatory effects. Therefore, the aim of the current study was to evaluate the anti-inflammatory effects of RSL extract. In brief, RSL powder was fractionated into n-hexane, chloroform, ethyl acetate, n-butanol, and water-soluble fractions. Lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-stimulated RAW264.7 cells were treated with each fraction for initial screening. It was found that the chloroform fraction significantly inhibited nitric oxide release in LPS-stimulated RAW264.7 cells with a half maximal inhibitory concentration value of $196{\mu}g/mL$. In addition, the mRNA and protein expression levels of inducible nitric oxide synthase, measured using reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction and western blotting, respectively, were reduced in a concentration-dependent manner. Moreover, the inflammatory cyclooxygenase-2 enzyme expression decreased. Furthermore, the expression of nuclear factor-kappa B ($NF-{\kappa}B$), the key regulator of the transcriptional activation of the inflammatory cytokine genes, was reduced by the RSL chloroform fraction. Therefore, the results of our study suggest that RSL exhibits anti-inflammatory effects in LPS-stimulated macrophages via $NF-{\kappa}B$ inactivation.

Increasing plant yield by modulating root hair development in Brachypodium distachyon

  • Root hair development has the potential to increase crop yields and at the same time to decrease fertilizer use, which will be required in the next 30 years to meet the demand for crop-derived commodities in a world with decreasing available natural resources. Root hair defective six (RHD6) encoding a basic helix-loop-helix transcription factor, is associated with root hair differentiation, and its roles are root hair initiation and elongation. Grass plants, rice and Brachypodium have been used as model plants to study the gene function of the root hair defective six like (RSL) subfamily which is orthologous to AtRHD6. The RSL subfamily has an identical gene function with AtRHD6 which is involved with root hair differentiation as well. Plants with longer root hairs within a species should have an improved Pi uptake efficiency; therefore, we would expect that a plant with a high Pi uptake could contribute to increasing the plant yield. We achieved increased root hair length by manipulating the RSL subfamily genes. It is expected that in these transgenic plants, the long root hairs would be sufficient to improve the Pi uptake and hence improve biomass and yield component (tiller, spikelet number, and spikelet weight) of the plant. Here, we demonstrate that Brachypodium transgenic plants overexpressing the BdRSL subfamily genes have an improved biomass and grain yield. The result of this study could be applied to important crop plants like rice.

RSL-Maker를 이용한 OGSA 서비스 설계 및 구현 (Design and Implementation of OGSA service on RSL-Maker)

  • 현재 지역적으로 분산되어 있는 대규모 데이터와 고성능 컴퓨터 자원들을 효과적으로 활용하는 그리드 컴퓨팅 연구가 활성화되었다. 사용자는 다양한 종류의 수많은 그리드 자원을 그리드 미들웨어인 GT3를 이용하여 일관된 방법으로 이용할 수 있으며 사용자의 작업을 원격지에서 실행 및 제어할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 필요성 및 실현 가능한 그리드 컴퓨팅에 대한 관련연구와 GT3를 실행 및 제어하는 관련된 작업을 RSL-Maker를 사용하여 그리드를 이용하는 여러 응용분야의 사용자 누구나 그리드 컴퓨팅을 사용하게 한다. 현재 그리드는 웹의 기술과 접목한 OGSA가 발표되어 많은 연구가 진행되고 있다. 본 연구는 RSL-Maker를 이용하여 GT3와 호환성 및 융통성을 통해서 보다 향상된 그리드 웹 서버 서비스를 구현했다.

Finite element analysis for the seismic performance of steel frame-tube structures with replaceable shear links

  • In steel frame-tube structures (SFTSs) the application of flexural beam is not suitable for the beam with span-to-depth ratio lower than five because the plastic hinges at beam-ends can not be developed properly. This can lead to lower ductility and energy dissipation capacity of the SFTS. To address this problem, a replaceable shear link, acting as a ductile fuse at the mid length of deep beams, is proposed. SFTS with replaceable shear links (SFTS-RSLs) dissipate seismic energy through shear deformation of the link. In order to evaluate this proposal, buildings were designed to compare the seismic performance of SFTS-RSLs and SFTSs. Several sub-structures were selected from the design buildings and finite element models (FEMs) were established to study their hysteretic behavior. Static pushover and dynamic analyses were undertaken in comparing seismic performance of the FEMs for each building. The results indicated that the SFTS-RSL and SFTS had similar initial lateral stiffness. Compared with SFTS, SFTS-RSL had lower yield strength and maximum strength, but higher ductility and energy dissipation capacity. During earthquakes, SFTS-RSL had lower interstory drift, maximum base shear force and story shear force compared with the SFTS. Placing a shear link at the beam mid-span did not increase shear lag effects for the structure. The SFTS-RSL concentrates plasticity on the shear link. Other structural components remain elastic during seismic loading. It is expected that the SFTS-RSL will be a reliable dual resistant system. It offers the benefit of being able to repair the structure by replacing damaged shear links after earthquakes.

철도안전법에 의한 품질인증제도의 시행 (The Conduction of Quality Certification according to the Korean Railway Safety Law (RSL))

  • Currently, the Korean railway safety law (RSL) and its ordinances have been enforced for the guarantee of the safety of railway. In RSL, the quality certification is required to guarantee the safety and performance of railway components or systems. However, not much attention has been focused on the quality certification scheme for railway components or systems since the scheme is relatively new. Therefore, in this investigation, the detailed guidelines and main contents for the enforcement of quality certification for railway components will be suggested, and the detailed items including the procedures, subjects, management, etc., will be addressed. Moreover, a better understanding on quality certification for railway components will be provided.

그리드에서 작업 흐름을 효과적으로 제어하기 위한 JCML과 GUI 기반의 편집기 (A JCML and a GUI-based Editor for Specifying Job Control Flow on Grid)

  • 그리드는 기존의 컴퓨팅 환경을 대체하는 새로울 환경으로 각광받고 있다. 그러나 그리드가 원천적으로 가지고 있는 이질적인 특성으로 인한 사용상의 복잡함 때문에 일반 사용자가 사용하기 어렵다. 본 논문에서는 그리드 안경에서 사용자에게 편리하고 향상된 작업 환경을 제공하고 효율적인 작업의 수행을 돕는 JCML(Job Control Markup Language)과 편집기에 대해 소개한다. JCML은 기존의 글로버스에서 사용하는 RSL을 향상시킨 작업 제어 언어이다. JCML은 표준 XML 문서 형식으로 설계되어 그리드 서비스와의 데이타 호환성을 제공하며, 작업의 표현과 의존성 정보를 표시하기 위해 GXL(Graph eXchange Language)을 이용한 그래프 방식으로 노드와 에지를 사용하여 두 노드간의 의존성을 표현한다. 그리고 JCML 편집기는 사용자가 직관적으로 이해할 수 있도록 GUI 기반의 비주얼 환경을 제공하며, 끌어다 놓기와 같은 간단한 조작만으로도 복잡한 작업 지시를 수행할 수 있도록 구성되었다.

효소 저항성 전분의 첨가가 옥수수빵의 텍스쳐 특성에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Addition of Enzyme-Resistent Starch on Texture Characterstics of Corn Bread)

  • 옥수수빵(CON)과 그 구성 성분중 옥수수 전분을 Amylomaize Vll starch로 대체한 제품(AMZ)을 제조하였다 또한 AMZ의 구성 성분중 지방의 일부를 RS 로 대체한 제품(지방의 15%대체시 RSl5, 30%대체 RS30)을 제조하여 총 네 가지 제품에 있어서 품질 특성을 살펴본 결과는 다음과 같다. 1. Sievert and Pomeranz의 방법에 따라 열처리-냉각 과정을 3번 반복하여 제조한 시료에서 분리된 RS의 수율은 28.96%였다. 2.옥수수빵의 텍스쳐 특성 표현어를 Szczesniak의 방법에 따라 분류한 결과 가장 많이 언급된 항목은 시료의 수분 함량에 관련된 촉촉하다였으며 깨짐성 및 검성에 관련된 표현어로서 푸석푸석하다, 부슬부슬하다 및 입자 크기와 관련된 용어로서 부드럽다, 꺼끌꺼 끌하다, 모래같다 등이었다 3. 관능검사 결과 기공의 크기는 지방을 RS로 대체 한 경우 유의적으로 증가하였고 CON에 비해 AMZ, RSl5및 RS30의 견고성이 유의적으로 증가하고 탄성은 유의적으로 감소되는 것을 알 수 있었다. 4. Texture analyser를 이용하여 deformation 30%로 기계적 texture를 관찰한 결과 견고성은 시간이 경과함에 따라 유의적으로 차이가 없거나 증가하는 경향을 보였으며 응집성은 변화가 없거나 감소하였고 탄성은 CON이 AMZ, RSl5 및 RS3O과 비교하여 항상유의적으로 높은 값을 보여 관능검사 결과와 일치하였다. 5. 50% 변형시킨 경우에도 30% 변형시킨 경우와 비슷한 경향을 보였으며 특히 지방의 30%를 RS로 치환했을 경우 물성에 유의적인 변화를 가져온다는 것을 알 수 있었다.
