The Effects of Reciprocal Peer Questioning Strategy in Concept Learning on the Three States of Matter and Motion of Molecules (물질의 세 가지 상태 및 분자의 운동에 대한 개념 학습에서 상호동료 질문생성 전략의 효과)

  • In this study, the effects of reciprocal peer questioning (RPQ) strategy upon students' concept learning were investigated. Ninety-two seventh graders at a co-ed middle school were assigned to control, reciprocal peer tutoring (RPT), and RPQ groups. The students were taught about 'three states of matter' and 'motion of molecules' for 12 class hours. Regardless of students' prior science achievement level, the RPQ group showed the highest scores among the three groups in the test of conceptual understanding, and the RPT group performed better than the control group. For high-level students, the scores of the RPQ group were significantly higher than those of the other groups in the test of the concept application, and those of the RPT group were higher than those of the control group. For low-level students, the scores of the RPT and RPQ groups in the concept application test were significantly higher than those of the control group, while those of the RPT and RPQ groups were not significantly different. These results indicated that verbal interaction by reciprocal tutoring helped students to understand chemical concept learning, and that using self-generated questions was more effective. Therefore, RPQ strategy is suggested to become one of the useful instructional methods to facilitate verbal interaction and concept learning in middle school science instructions.

  • 실시간 스케줄러는 대역폭, 필요 버퍼량 등과 같은 네트워크 자원을 효율적으로 이용하면서 한정된 통신지연(bounded delay)을 제공해야 한다. 최근 이러한 제한 조건을 만족시키기 위해서 많은 스케줄링 방법론이 제시되었다. 그중EDF 스케줄링 방법론이 최적의 성능을 갖는 것으로 알려져있다. 그러나 EDF스케줄링 방법론은 "sort"나 "search"와 같은 연산작업을 수행함으로서, 과다한 오버헤드를 발생시킨다. Rotating Priority Queues(RPQ) 스케줄러는 EDF 연산 작업 없이 EDF스케줄러에 근접한 성능을 갖는 스케줄러이다. 그러나 RPQ스케줄러는 과다한 버퍼량을 필요로 한다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 문제저?ㄹ 해결하기위해서 Multiple Rotating Priority Queues(MRPQ)스케줄러를 제시한다. MRPQ스케줄러는"blick queue"라는 새로운 개념을 이용하여 회전 우선 순위 queue를 다중 계츨으로 구성한다. 이렇게 구성된 MRPQ 스케줄러는 RPQ스케줄러에서 필요한 버퍼량의 반정도의 버퍼량만을 사용하여 RPQ스케줄러와 동일한 동작을 수행한다. 또한 MRPQ스케줄러는 RPQ스케줄러와 동일한 최대 지연시간을 제공한다.러는 RPQ스케줄러와 동일한 최대 지연시간을 제공한다.

  • Packet schedulers for real-time communication must provide bounded delay and efficient use of network resources such as bandwidth, buffers and so on. In order to satisfy them, a large number of packet scheduling methods have been proposed. Among packet scheduling methods, an EDF (Earliest Deadline First) scheduling is the optimal one for a bounded delay service. A disadvantage of EDF scheduling is that queued packets must be sorted according to their deadlines, requiring a search operation whenever a new packet arrives at the scheduler. Although an RPQ (Rotating Priority Queue) scheduler, requiring large size of buffers, does not use such operation, it can closely approximate the schedulability of an EDF scheduler. To overcome the buffer size problem of an RPQ scheduler, this paper proposes a new scheduler named MRPQ (Multiple Rotating Priority Queue). In a MRPQ scheduler, there are several layers with a set of Queues. In a layer, Queues are configured by using a new strategy named block Queue. A MRPQ scheduler needs nearly half of buffer size required in an RPQ scheduler and produces schedulability as good as an RPQ scheduler.

Reactive and Proactive Aggression, the Validation of the Reactive-Proactive Questionnaire (RPQ): Focusing on ESEM and Rasch (반응적 공격성과 주도적 공격성, Reactive-Proactive Questionnaire(RPQ) 타당화 연구: ESEM과 Rasch를 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this study is to validate the Reactive-Proactive Aggression Questionnaire (RPQ), a tool for measuring reactive-proactive aggression, in the context of South Korea. A thorough translation was conducted in collaboration with the original author. An exploratory factor analysis (EFA), exploratory structural equation modeling (ESEM), rating scale model (Rasch), differential item functioning (DIF), and convergent validity were performed on a sample of 510 South Korean individuals. The results revealed a two-factor structure of reactive and proactive aggression after removing one item showing dual loading. Rating scale analysis based on the Rasch model indicated the appropriateness of the 3-point Likert scale, with all items meeting fit criteria. Although the separation index and separation reliability of proactive aggression was marginally lower, the overall discrimination between participants and items was satisfactory. Examination of participant-item distribution indicated a suitable alignment between reactive aggression and participant ability levels, whereas proactive aggression exhibited slightly elevated item difficulty. Furthermore, three items were found to function differently based on gender. A moderate but statistically significant positive correlation was found between the Barratt Impulsiveness Scale-11-R (Korean version) and RPQ from the results of the convergent validity evaluation. Overall, this study employed rigorous statistical methods to validate the suitability of the RPQ for use in Korea, taking cultural nuances into account, and introduced the concepts of reactive and proactive aggression to the Korean general population.

  • In 3rd-generation mobile communication systems providing packet service, optimal scheduling algorithms we needed to increase service efficiency. In this paper, three scheduling algorithms (SP, EDF, and RPQ) which have been studied in the field of computer networks are applied with transmit power constraint to an interference-limited CDMA system, proving to be efficient.

Application of Dynamic Reaction Cell - Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry for the Determination of Calcium by Isotope Dilution Method (반응셀 유도결합플라스마 질량분석분석기를 이용한 칼슘 동위원소비율의 측정과 동위원소희석법의 적용)

  • Inductively Coupled Plasma Dynamic Reaction Cell Quadrupole Mass Spectrometry (ICP-DRC-QMS) was characterized for the detection of the six naturally occurring calcium isotopes. The effect of the operating conditions of the DRC system was studied to get the best signal-to-noise ratio. This experiment shows that the potentially interfering ions such as $Ar^+$, ${CO_2}^+$, ${NO_2}^+$, $CNO^+$ at the calcium masses m/z 40, 42, 43, 44 and 48 were removed by flowing $NH_3$ gas at the rate of 0.7 mL/min $NH_3$ as reactive cell gas in the DRC with a RPq value (rejection parameter) of 0.6. The limits of detection for $^{40}Ca$, $^{42}Ca$, $^{43}Ca$, $^{44}Ca$, and $^{48}Ca$ were 1, 29, 169, 34, and 15 pg/mL, respectively. This method was applied to the determination of calcium in synthetic food digest samples (CCQM-P13) provided by LGC for international comparison. The isotope dilution method was used for the determination of calcium in the samples. The uncertainty evaluation was performed according to the ISO/GUM and EURACHEM guidelines. The determined mean concentration and its expanded uncertainty of calcium was ($66.4{\pm}1.2$) mg/kg. In order to assess our method, two reference samples, Riverine Water reference sample (NRCC SLRS-3) and Trace Elements in Water reference sample (NIST SRM 1643d), were analyzed.
