Effect of Yohimbine on the Renal Action of Clonidine in Dog (Clonidine의 개 신장작용에 대한 Yohimbine의 영향)

  • Effect of yohimbine, a specific antagonist for presynaptic adrenoceptor, on the renal action of clonidine, a specific presynaptic adrenoceptor agonist, was investigated in dog. Clonidine, when given intravenously, produced diuretic action accompanied with augmentation of osmolar and free water clearance (Cosm and 4C_{H_2O}$), and elicited the increase of amounts of sodium and potassium excreted in urine ($E_{Na}\; and\; E_k$). These actions of clonidine were inhibited by yohimbine either injected intravenously or infused into a renal artery. Clonidine, when infused into a renal artery, produced antidiuretic action accompanied with decreased of glomerular filtration rate (GFR) and renal plasma flow (RPF), and exhibited the reduced amounts of sodium and potassium in urine. These actions of clonidine injected into a renal artery were blocked by yohimbine administered either into vein or into a renal artery. Above results suggest that yohimbine block the renal action of clonidine only in central system, do not in kidney.

항이뇨작용기전 검색(Naproxen을 중심으로)

  • Naproxen을 개의 정맥내 투여하였을때 뇨량의 감소와 더불어 삼투질제거율(Cosm), 뇨중 $Na^{+}$$K^{+}$의 배설율( $E_{Na}$ , $E_{k}$ )의 감소와 신세뇨관에서의 $Na^{+}$$K^{+}$의 재흡수율( $R_{Na}$ , $R_{k}$ )과 K/Na비의 증대를 나타내었으며 신혈류량(RPF)이 감소하였다. 한쪽 신동맥내에 naproxen을 투여하였을때 투여신(실험신)에서의 이뇨작용과 대조신에서의 항이뇨작용을 나타내었다. 경동맥에 naproxen을 투여하였을때도 뚜렷한 항이뇨작용을 나타내었다. 이와같은 두경우에서의 항이뇨 작용시의 신기능변화는 정맥내 naproxen의 경우와 같은 양상을 나타내었다. 경동맥내의 naproxen의 항이뇨작용은 신신경 제거에 의하여 영향을 받지 않았으나 정맥내로의 arachidonic acid나 indomethacin의 전처리에 의하여서는 나타나지 않았다. 경동맥내의 naproxen은 정맥내의 spironolactone의 이뇨작용을, 정맥내의 spironolactone은 경동맥내의 naproxen의 항이뇨작용을 억제하였다. 이상의 결과로 보아 naproxen은 중추성 항이뇨작용과 $Na^{+}$저류를 나타내며 이는 prostaglasdin의 합성억제와 aldosterone양 작용에 의하는 것으로 사료된다.

  • This paper presents a method to assess total transfer capability (TTC) by using energy function. To get the critical energy, the potential energy boundary surface(PEBS) method which is one of the transient energy function(TEF) method is used. TTC assessment is to calculate TTC by using the repeated power flow (RPF) method. It is seen that energy margin can be use to assess available transfer capability(ATC).

  • RDF(Refuse-Derived Fuel) is a fuel of pelletized form made of combustible solid wastes and can not only be used as alternative energy to fossil fuel but also solve troubles in thermal uses of incinerator. As the first stage for obtaining elementary data required to develop criteria of raw materials appropriate to RDF combustion facilities actively spread recently in Korea, preliminary experiments were conducted on CO, SOx, NOx and HCl production and reduction characteristics in combustion of RDF. RDF samples weighing 2~3 g per a sample were manufactured in a lab-scale way and combustion tests of RDF were carried out in electric furnace with quartz tube of 50 mm inside diameter.

  • Most of waste plastics including waste vinyls have been recycled up to about 50% of waste production, 4.5 million ton per year in 2009. To fundamentally increase the recycled amounts of waste plastics to waste production, the energy utilization of waste plastics is inevitable. But the contents of PVC included in waste plastics can limit the use as a RPF and make the air pollutants such as HCl and dioxin when it burns in the combustion system. Accordingly the source dechlorination by using heating method can be applied to make low contents of HCl as less than 0.6%. In this study the twin screw reactor using heat medium was used for the source dechlorination. As results of study, it was considered that this system is effective for the industrilal application.

  • This study was conducted to find out the chlorine removal characteristics of waste plastic mixture by pyrolysis process with thermogravimetric analysis(TGA) and a lab-scale pyrolyzer. The material used as plastic wastes were PE (Poly-ethylene), PP (Poly-prophylene), and PVC (Poly Vinyl Chloride). Experimental procedure were composed of three steps; 1st step: TGA of PVC, PP and PE, 2nd step: chlorine removal rate of PVC in a lab-scale pyrolyzer, 3rd step: chlorine removal rate of PVC-PE and PVC-PP mixture in a pyrolyzer. Through the results of TGA, we can estimate the basic pyrolysis characteristics of each plastic, and then we can also derive the design parameters and operating conditions of the lab-scale pyrolyzer. The results can be used as primary data for designing a system to produce RPF (Refuse Plastic Fuel), a waste incinerator and a pyrolysis/gasification process.

정적자세 유지시 수공구의 무게가 상완의 postural tremor에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구

  • Postural tremor of the upper arm in a static posture was measured to provide guidelines of hand tool weight. Three types of camera recording postures were selected. Postural tremor was measured on five levels of tool weights; no weight, 400g, 800, 1200g, and 1600g. For each conditions, upper arm postural tremor was measured together with EMG of biceps, deltoid, and pectoralis major, and Borg's CR-20 scale ratings of perceived exertion. Results of the experiment are as follows; Frequency analysis of tremor revealed that increased amplitude of frequency band of 2-4Hz and 10-14Hz was observed. Postural tremor of the upper arm maintained the initial level until fatigue developed. After the development of fatigue, the rate of the change of postural tremor was significantly increased. Different tool weights and hand postures showed different rate of tremor increase. And time to fatigue and the corresponding endurance time was positively correlated with Borg's RPF scores.

  • Effect of Jeo Ryong-Tang water Extract on Renal Function in Rabbit and Dog. In order to investigate the Pharmacological action of Jeo Ryoung-Tang on renal function, this study was performed in rabbit and dog, making use of it's water extract. Jeo Ryoung-Tang water extract (JRWE), when given into ear vein of rabbits, produced diuresis in a small dose, but antidiuresis in a large dose. Diuretic action of JRWE accompanied the increase of glomerular filtration rate (GFR), renal plasma flow (RPF) and amounts of $Na^+$ in exdreated in urin, but fractional excretion of filtered $Na^+$ was not changed. JRWE, when injected into proleg's vein of dog, produced diuresis, At this time, changes of renal function were similar to that of diuresis in rabbit. JRWE, when infused into a renal artery of dog, exhibited the diuresis in both kidney. It is thought that JRWE, when given into vein of rabbit or dog, induces the diuresis, and the mechanism of it's diuresis is the increase of renal plasma flow through secondary action by some endogenous humoural substance.

  • The influence of prazosin (0.1 mg/kg i.v.) on the excretion and diuretic action of furosemide (2mg/kg i.v.) in rabbits was studied to investigate an interaction between ${\alpha}-adrenergic$ blocking agent, prazosin and furosemide. The results were as follows; 1) With the combined administration of prazosin and furosemide, the plasma concentration of furosemide was increased, the urinary excretion rate and renal clearance of furosemide were reduced, and tile biological half-life of furosemide was increased. 2) The diuretic action of furosemide was significantly reduced with the combined administration of prazosin: maximal decrease in urine volume, urinary electrolytes, clearance of $Na^+$ and $Cl^-$, and GFR and RPF, as well as maximal increase in $Na^+$ reabsorption rate were noted 10 minutes after administration of furosemide (2mg/kg i.v.)

Influence of Dopamine on Intrarenal Blood Flow in Dog (개의 신내 혈류에 미치는 Dopamine의 영향)

  • In order to certify the diuretic mechanism of dopamine, this study was performed in dog. The following results were obtained. Dopamine, when given intravenously, produced diuresis, and increased glomerular filtration rate (GFR), renal plasma flow (RPF), and amount of sodium excreted in urine. When infused directly into a renal artery, dopamine elicited a marked diuresis confined only to the infused side, with concomitant rises in osmolar clearance and sodium excretion as well as a slight increase in free water clearance. Simultaneously total renal plasma flow and medullary plasma flow increased markedly with a increase of glomerular filtration rate and renal plasma flow. Medullary concentration gradient of sodium also markedly lowered in the infused kidney. These changes were not observed during mannitol diuresis and renal action of dopamine were not apparent in dog pretreated with haloperidol. From the above experimental results, it is thought that dopamine, when given into a vien or infused directly into a renal artery, induces diuresis, and the mechanism of its action is due to dual actions which are hemodynamic effect along with glomerular filtraction rate, and the increased response in the medullary blood flow.
