There are many investigations about the security on RFID system to protect privacy. It is important to mutual authentication of the security on RFID system. The protocol for mutual authentication use light-weight operation such as XOR operation, hash function and re-encryption. However, the protocol for authentication and privacy is required more complicated cryptography system. In this paper, we propose a mutual authentication protocol using finite field GF($2^n$) for a authentication and are a safety analysis about various attacks.
This paper demonstrates that an attacker can impersonate a random RFID tag and then perform the spoofing attack in the previous RFID authentication protocol. To resolve such a security problem, we also propose a new secure and efficient RFID mutual authentication protocol. The proposed RFID mutual authentication protocol is not only to resolve many security problems with the existing RFID authentication mechanism and the vulnerability against spoofing attack, but also to guarantee reliable authentication time as reducing computational overhead performing by tag. As a result, the proposed RFID mutual authentication protocol provides stronger security including the forward secrecy and more efficiency.

In 2010, Jeon-Kim proposed HMAP(Hash-based Mutual Authentication Protocol for RFID Environment) to resolve a variety of problem related to security using Mutual authentication scheme, the hash function and secret key is used to update in RFID system. Jeon-Kim proved RMAP was safe for a variety of attacks including eavesdropping attacks through safety analysis. However, unlike the claims of the proposed protocol is vulnerable to next session of the secret key exposure due to eavesdropping. In this paper, we analyze the problem of RMAP and proves it through security analysis. And we also propose improved an RFID Mutual Authentication Protocol based on Hash Function to solve problems of HMAP.

In 2006, Lee and Ahn proposed a matrix-based RFID authentication protocol which eliminates the security problems in HB and $HB^+$ RFID authentication protocols. Their proposed protocol provides the following three merits: (1) it reduces the computational costs of the RFID tag. (2) it reduces the communication overhead between the reader and the tag. (3) it protects the user privacy. However, this paper points out that Lee and Ahn's proposed protocol is insecure to various attacks because it does not provide mutual authentication which the RFID tag does not authenticate the legality of the RFID reader unlike their claims. In addition, this paper proposes an improved matrix-based RFID mutual authentication protocol that can provide the mutual authentication. As a result, the proposed protocol not only can provide strong security and but also guarantee high efficiency because it reduces the communication rounds compare with Lee-Ahn's protocol.

Mobile RFID system, that consists of the existing RFID reader mounted on the mobile devices such as smartphones, is able to provide the users a variety of services and convenience. But security of mobile RFID system is too weak like the existing RFID system. In this paper, the mobile RFID mutual authentication protocol with high level of security is proposed to overcome the troubles such as cryptographic protocols in the existing RFID system responding with the same value in every authentication procedure and the exposure in the exchange of messages. The proposed protocol exchanges messages unexposed by using the random numbers generated in the mutual authentication between the tag and the reader and making numbers coded with the symmetric key. Besides, the protocol uses the mutual authentication utilizing OTP by considering the characteristics of the reader embedded in mobile devices in the mutual authentication process between the reader and the server. Because changed message in every authentication, which produces safe from spoofing attacks and replay attacks, etc.

Recently, Ahn et al proposed an improved authentication protocol using the hash function in RFID environment. Their proposed protocol provide the following three merits; it reduces the computational costs of RFID tag. itrfduces the communication overhead between the reader and the tag. it protects the user privacy. However, this paper points out that does not authenticate the legality of the RFID reader and database. this paper proposes an improved mutual authentication protocol that can provide the mutual authenticaion.
In 2008, Kim-Jun proposed a RFID mutual authentication protocol using one-time random number that can withstand malicious attacks by the leakage of important information and resolve the criminal abuse problems. Through the security analysis, they claimed that the proposed protocol can withstand various security attacks including the replay attack. However, this paper demonstrates that Kim-Jun' s RFID authentication protocol still insecure to the replay attack. In addition, this paper also proposes a simply improved RFID mutual authentication protocol using one-time random number which not only provides same computational efficiency, but also withstands the replay attack.

RFID system is the contact-less recognition technology and use for distribution system, environment, transport, security and so on. However, it may create many security relevant problems such as privacy because constraints of RFID communication environment. So several methods of resolving these problems have been proposed. Recently, Shin and Park proposed an efficient RFID authentication protocol with protecting user's privacy using hash function and exclusive-OR.. But Ahn and Bu et al. poia problem that a attacker can to masquerade as malicious reader because their protocol can't providing mutual authentication.nted out weakness of Shin and Park's protocol and proposed more secure and efficient protocol. Unfortunately, Ahn and But's protocol has In this paper, We propose an improved RFID authentication protocol providing mutual authentication. The proposed protocol has advantages that providing mutual authentication between a tag and a reader, secure against replay attack and spoofing attack. Also, it guarantees anonymity of RFID tag and secure against location tracking attack by collusion of malicious readers.

RFID system is emerging new technology for ubiquitous computing environment. RFID system, however, provides privacy problems while the technology offers incredible rich opportunities for applications in the filed of logistics, distribution, and medical services, etc. Many researches have been conducted in order to solve this problem, but the current RFID authentication protocols are still insufficient for settling the privacy problem in the point of view of privacy intrusion and system efficiency. The purpose of this paper is to present a RFID mutual authentication protocol which improves safety level, compared with current authentication protocols. The proposed authentication protocol can provide mutual authentication services, and is secure against location tracing, spoofing, reflection attack.

Recently, Selim et al proposed public key cryptography based privacy preserving multi-context RFID authentication protocol. However Selim et al's proposed protocol not only doesn't fit into passive tag based RFID system because it uses public key based encryption algorithm to perform authentication between reader and tag, but also is insecure to an impersonation attack because it doesn't provide mutual authentication. In order to eliminate the above described efficiency problem and security vulnerabilities, this paper proposes a new multi-context RFID mutual authentication protocol that can prevent privacy invasion and tag impersonation attack through providing mutual authentication between single passive tag which is located different application space and readers which provide multi-context purposes and can secure against relay attack and denial-of-service attack. As a result, the proposed protocol performs secure mutual authentication based on the collected space and time information from the RFID reader and provides strong security and high computation efficiency because if performs secure one-way hash function and symmetric encryption operations suitable to the environments of passive RFID tags.
