  • RFID system is the contact-less recognition technology and use for distribution system, environment, transport, security and so on. However, it may create many security relevant problems such as privacy because constraints of RFID communication environment. So several methods of resolving these problems have been proposed. Recently, Shin and Park proposed an efficient RFID authentication protocol with protecting user's privacy using hash function and exclusive-OR.. But Ahn and Bu et al. poia problem that a attacker can to masquerade as malicious reader because their protocol can't providing mutual authentication.nted out weakness of Shin and Park's protocol and proposed more secure and efficient protocol. Unfortunately, Ahn and But's protocol has In this paper, We propose an improved RFID authentication protocol providing mutual authentication. The proposed protocol has advantages that providing mutual authentication between a tag and a reader, secure against replay attack and spoofing attack. Also, it guarantees anonymity of RFID tag and secure against location tracking attack by collusion of malicious readers.

  • This paper proposes an authentication protocol based on hash and AES safe from various types of attacks in order to assure the security of communication between tags and readers, which exchange data with each other wirelessly in a RFID system. The proposed authentication protocol resolves a problem in existing hash-based protocols whereby the same hidden value is generated for the same identification in each session. In order to hide tag identification information a number of complicated calculations were required, but using the proposed AES protocol reduces such calculations, strengthens security against replay attack, spoofing attack, traffic analysis, eavesdropping, etc. and assure mutual authentication between tags and readers.

  • RFID system is used in several fields such as traffic and access control. The study about RFID security is actively progressed as security threat has been increased. This paper suggests matrix-based authentication protocol. And we analyze the safety of authentication protocol and compares the effectiveness of the protocol with other authentication protocols. The suggested authentication protocol secures from wiretapping attack, replay attack, and spoofing attack, and reduces overload of back-end database so that has efficient performance.

  • In 2008, Kim-Jun proposed a RFID mutual authentication protocol using one-time random number that can withstand malicious attacks by the leakage of important information and resolve the criminal abuse problems. Through the security analysis, they claimed that the proposed protocol can withstand various security attacks including the replay attack. However, this paper demonstrates that Kim-Jun' s RFID authentication protocol still insecure to the replay attack. In addition, this paper also proposes a simply improved RFID mutual authentication protocol using one-time random number which not only provides same computational efficiency, but also withstands the replay attack.

  • Low-cost RFID tags are used in many applications. However, since it has very limited power of computation and storage, it's not easy to make a RFID mutual authentication protocol which can resist from the various security attacks. Quite recently, Tian et al. proposed a new ultralightweight authentication protocol (RAPP) for low-cost RFID tags using the low computation cost operations; XOR, rotation, and permutation operations, which is able to resist from the various security attacks. In this paper, we show that RAPP is vulnerable to the de-synchronization attack and present an improved RAPP which overcomes the vulnerability of RAPP.

  • In this paper we will discuss a general idea about an information system which provides information a user really needs in user's authentication. We will discuss how RFID could be applied for this kind of system especially from the standpoint of using RFID as a way to collect information of personal belongings. Also we will discuss security issues of using RFID as a component of the proposed system because while RFID could provide usefulness, it could also be very dangerous for revealing private information without user's awareness.

  • In ubiquitous environment the authentication protocol design for RFID security is studied to protect user privacy in RFID system. The XOR-based approach of RFID security is implemented inexpensively and simply. However because of using same security informations, ones of tag is disclosed easily. In this paper, we enhance the previous XOR-based authentication protocol using a circular shift operation.

  • Recently, Ahn et al proposed an improved authentication protocol using the hash function in RFID environment. Their proposed protocol provide the following three merits; it reduces the computational costs of RFID tag. itrfduces the communication overhead between the reader and the tag. it protects the user privacy. However, this paper points out that does not authenticate the legality of the RFID reader and database. this paper proposes an improved mutual authentication protocol that can provide the mutual authenticaion.

  • As an automatic identification technology, in which electronic tags are attached to items and system auto-identifies informations of the items using wireless communication technology, use of RFID system is increasing in various fields. According to that, related security problems are becoming important issue. Up to now, many authentication protocols have been proposed to solve security problem of RFID system. In this paper, We show that the RFID authentication protocols in [9, 10], which are compatible with Type C RFID system in ISO 18000-6 Amd1[8], are vulnerable to a spoofing attack. In addition, we propose improved protocols having small additional cost over the original protocols.
