합성음에 사용할 한국어 억양 모델을 세우기 위한 기초적 연구로서 한국어 억양 곡선에 RFC 모델을 적용해 보았다. 억양 곡선의 구조는 피치 액센트와 억양구 경계 음조의 연속으로 되어 있는데, RFC 모델은 각각의 진폭과 지속기간을 가지는 상승 음조 요소와 하강 음조요소, 그리고 연결 요소로 이러한 억양 곡선의 모양을 모델링한다. 본 논문에서는 한국어 억양 곡선의 특징을 잘 반영하도록 RFC 모델의 구성요소를 수정하고, 청취 실험을 통해서 원래의 RFC 모델과 수정된 RFC 모델을 비교해 보았다. 실험 결과는 수정된 RFC 모델이 원래의 RFC 모델보다 13%정도 음조 표지 개수가 줄었음에도 불구하고 청각적으로 인지하는데 차이가 없는 것으로 나타났다.

Adipocyte differentiation is an ordered multistep process requiring the sequential activation of several groups of adipogenic transcription factors, including CCAAT/enhancer-binding protein-$\alpha$ and peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor-$\gamma$, and coactivators. In previous reports, we identified that replication factor C 140 (RFC140) protein played a critical role in regulating adipocyte differentiation as a coactivator. Here, we show expressional regulation of RFC140 and small RFC subunit, RFC38, following characterization of gene promoter of RFC140 and RFC38. In addition, RFC140 increases PPAR$\gamma$-mediated gene activation, resulting from direct protein-protein interaction of RFC140 and PPAR$\gamma$. Taken together, these findings demonstrate that the regulated expression of RFC140 and RFC38 by specific adipocyte transcription factors is required for the adipocyte differentiation process.

This is a pilot study on applying the Rise/Fall/connection(RFC) model to Korean intonation tot speech synthesis. RFC model contains successive intonation events, which can be pitch accents and intonation boundary tones. The intonation contour of RFC model is composed of piecewise linear curves of rise, fall, and connection elements, and each element can have any amplitude and duration. In this paper, elements of RFC model is slightly modified to accommodate the characteristics of Korean intonation. Subjective preference test was conducted to compare the modified RFC model with the original one. The results show that the intonation contour produced by the modified RFC model is perceptually indistinguishable from that of the original RFC model, while the former requires less number of labels than the latter.

This paper describes the network configuration, No. 7 signaling IS-41.A protocol and basic operations for the RFC(Remote Feature Control) service which is one of the supplementary services provided in the mobile telephone network. In order to solve the protocol error occurred while providing the RFC service for analog system, this paper suggests three schemes and analyse detail signal algorithm for the proposed schemes. Through the simulations, it is verified the best choice of the proposed schemes without the signaling procedure error.

인공위성은 지상에서부터 발사 및 궤도 운용까지 다양한 전자파 환경에 노출되며 이러한 환경에서의 위성 운용을 검증하기 위하여, 다양한 전자파 환경을 모사하는 전자파 환경시험을 수행하게 된다. 특히, 궤도내에서 위성의 운용시 지상국과의 교신을 위하여 X 밴드 안테나와 S 밴드 안테나에서 지상국으로 강한 전자기파를 방사하게 되는데, 이 방사에너지가 위성에 영향을 주는지 검증하는 시험을 지상에서 수행한다. 이런 시험을 RFC (RF Auto-Compatibility) 시험이라고 부른다. RFC 시험은 위성으로부터 방사되는 전자기파가 외부에 새어나가지 않도록 전자파 챔버내에서 시험하며, 강한 전자기파를 흡수할 수 있는 고전력 전파 흡수체가 설치된 전자파 챔버가 필요하다. RFC 시험시 X 밴드 안테나와 S 밴드 안테나를 최대 전력으로 방사시키고, 이때 위성 주변에 전자파 센서를 부착하여 전계강도를 측정함으로써 위성으로 입사되는 전자기파의 세기가 적정 레벨 이하인지를 검증하고, 동시에 위성의 운용상태를 확인하여 위성에 영향이 없음을 검증한다. 본 논문에서는 다목적 실용위성 3호의 RFC 시험시 측정된 전계강도를 이론적으로 검증하고, RS 시험시 인가하는 레벨과의 상관관계를 설명한다. RS 시험 레벨의 선정은 위성 안테나의 방사레벨과 관련이 있으며 RFC 시험결과를 검토함으로써 RFC 시험 결과의 유효성과 RF 레벨 요구사항의 적절성을 검증한다.

The immunopotenciating effects of ethanol extract, butanol fraction and petroleum ether extract of Korean Ginseng on the immunotoxicity of mitomycin C were investigated in mice. A single administration of mitomycin C induced an apparent but relatively transient reduction of spleen weight, hemagglutination titer, Arthus reaction, RFC and natural killer cell activity. Ethanol extract of Ginseng significantly restored spleen weight, HA titer, RFC and natural killer cell activity. Butanol fraction of Ginseng significantly restored HA titer, RFC and natural killer cell activity. Petroleum ether extract of Ginseng very significantly restored spleen weight, Arthus reaction, DTH, RFC and natural killer cell activity.

We have characterized the aftereffects of impulse activities on the transmission of afferent sensory to the primary somatosensory (SI) cortex of the anesthetized rats (n=22). Following conditioning stimulation (CS, 10 sec, either 5 Hz or 200 Hz) to the receptive field (RF), quantitative determination of the changes of afferent sensory transmission was done by generating post-stimulus time histogram of unit response to the testing stimulation (TS, at 0.5 Hz) to the RF center (RFC) for 60 min. In one group of experiments, CS was delivered to the RF center (RFC). In another group of experiments, CSs were simultaneously given to both RFC and RF outside (RFO, either forepaw or hindpaw). CS of 5 Hz to RFC exerted irreversible facilitation of sensory transmissions evoked by TS. Simultaneous CSs of 5 Hz to RFC and hindpaw RFO exerted reversible suppression of afferent transmission. However, CSs of 5 Hz to RFC and forepaw RFO did not significantly altered afferent sensory transmission to SI cortex neurons. CS of 200 Hz to RFC exerted irreversible suppression of sensory transmissions up to 60 min of experimental period. Simultaneous CSs of 200 Hz to RFC and RFO did not significantly altered afferent sensory transmission to SI cortex neurons. The profiles of CS-induced modulation of afferent sensory transmission were significantly different between two CS conditions. Thus, this study suggests that activity-dependent modulation of afferent transmission from a RF center to the SI cortex may be significantly altered when remote body part was simultaneously activated.

인터넷 프로토콜들은 RFC(Request For Comments)에 정의되어 있다. 하지만 RFC 는 단순한 권고 사항 일뿐 강제적인 요구사항은 아니다. 그렇기 때문에 RFC 에 정의되어 있는 흐름제어 메커니즘 같은 권고사항을 무시하고 인터넷 프로토콜들을 구현할 수도 있다. 그러나 이렇게 구현된 프로토콜들이 망에 미치는 영향이나, 그것을 제한하기 위한 연구는 아직까지 이루어 지지 않고 있다. 본 논문에서는 RFC 규격을 따르지 않는 TCP와 RFC 규격을 따르는 표준 TCP와의 성능 차이를 비교하였다. 그것을 위하여 리눅스 커널의 TCP 프로토콜을 수정하여 흐름제어를 하지 않는 서로 다른 6개의 항목을 만들고, 표준 TCP와의 성능을 비교하였다. 그 결과, 목적지가 근거리인 경우 정상적인 TCP와 본 연구에서 수정된 TCP 간의 파일 전송 시간의 차이는 크게 나지 않았다. 하지만, 원거리에 있는 목적지로 웹 페이지 정도의 작은 파일을 전송할 경우, 흐름제어 메커니즘 중 저속 출발(slow start)을 적용하지 않았을 때는 전송 시간에서 매우 큰 차이를 나타냈다.

인터넷 사용자 수의 급격한 증가로 인터넷 서비스 보급이 대중화됨에 따라 인터넷 텔레포니 기술이 전기통신사업자 및 인터넷 서비스 사업자들의 주요 이슈가 되고 있다. 인터넷 텔레포니 서비스를 위한 호처리 프로토콜을 표준화하기 위해 1999년 9원 IETF산하 SIP WG이 구성된 이래, RFC2543 bis 문서들이 계속 소개되었으며, 2002년 7월초 bis-09문서를 기반으로 RFC3261 SIP 표준이 제정되었다. 본 논문에서는 SIP 메시지 전송을 위해 초창기에 사용하던 Strict 라우팅 방법과 RFC3261에서 사용하는 Loose 라우팅 방법을 비교하고, RFC3261 SIP 표준에서 제공하는 둘 간의 호환성 문제 해결 방안을 분석한다.

Due to the need for multilingual e-mail address, EAI Working Group of the IETF has created a wide range of standards associated with e-mail address internationalization(EAI) since 2006. One of the authors and colleagues designed and implemented the mail server, SMTPUTF8, that supports EAI RFC protocols. SMTPUTF8 mail server is composed of new SMTP and POP3 servers supporting EAI RFC protocols. However, SMTPUTF8 did not include a new IMAP server supporting EAI RFC protocol. Recently many people are using smart phones to read and send e-mail messages in a mobile environment. IMAP server is more useful than POP3 server in a mobile environment. Therefore, in this paper, the authors have designed and implemented IMAP server and client app that complies with the IMAP standard (RFC) published by EAI WG of IETF to support multilingual e-mail address. This IMAP server is added to the SMTPUTF8 mail server so that users can access e-mail messages via IMAP client app in a mobile environment.
