High Speed Collision Avoidance Algorithm for Active RFID Network System (능동형 RFID 네트워크 시스템 고속 충돌방지 알고리즘)

  • This paper proposes an efficient collision avoidance algorithm that a group of RFID readers manage each of their affiliated active RFID tags in a space by establishing wireless network and avoids communication collision between RFID reader to reader and RFID tag to tag, and reader to tag. RF readers operate as wireless network nodes, create synchronous links each other, and can exchange messages. Active tags also are operated communicating each reader devices synchronously, and competing slot position between tags algorithm using unique tag identification number is implemented. Each reader node operates their own reader function different time slot network communication period to prevent collision between readers communication.

  • Spotlighted as an innovative information technology environment, ubiquitous computing has been actively researched on recently. Especially, domestic and global researches focus on the RFID system, which is being eyed to replace the existing bar-code system. As an essential technology for ubiquitous computing, the RFID system can be applied for various purposes. The security issues of the RFID system focus on how the low-priced tag type could have reasonable price competitiveness. The Auto-ID Center in the U.S. is spearheading the research on distribution service and omni-directional security. As for Japan, the researches on omni-directional security and EPC application are necessary in securing the technology for ubiquitous computing with support from the Ministry of Public Management Home Affairs, Posts, and Telecommunication. In this paper, a method of ensuring the availability of the RFID system service will be presented based on the ubiquitous computing environment with the existing omni-directional security and user-friendly interface. While the existing researches focus on the RF reader system and tag-based security, this paper's suggestion also considers the availability of a sen ice to suggest ways of increasing the practical usage of a low-priced RF tag.

  • DLC(diamond-like carbon)는 비정질 고상 탄소의 하나로 다이아몬드의 유사한 높은 경도, 내마모성, 윤활성, 전기절연성, 화학적 안정성을 가지고 있는 재료이다. 이러한 우수한 특성 때문에 DLC는 박막의 형태로 여러 종류의 보호코팅에 많이 응용되고 있다. DLC의 광범위한 응용에 있어 가장 큰 문제점은 박막이 갖는 높은 잔류응력과 이에 따른 기판과의 낮은 접착성으로 알려져 있다. 최근 연구에 의하면, plasma pre-treatment를 통해 PTFE기판에 DLC박막의 adhesion strength를 증진 시킬 수 있다고 보고하였다. 또한 ion beam technique를 이용하여 잔류응력을 줄이고 기판과의 접착력을 높일 수 있다는 것도 보고 되었다. 이에 기인하여 pre-treatment가 DLC합성에 잔류응력을 낮추고 기판과의 접착성을 높이는 효과를 보일 것이라고 가정하고 연구하였다. 본 연구에서 pre-treatment가 Diamond-like Carbon의 stainless steel 합성시 stress와 adhesion에 어떤 효과가 있는지 알아보기 위해, pre-treatment시와 synthesis of DLC film시에 13.56MHz 150W RF플라즈마 화학기상 증착 (RF-PECVD) 법을 통해 합성되었다. pre-treatment시에 H2(80 sccm), O2(10 sccm), N2(20 sccm)의 가스 종류를 다르게 하였고, synthesis of DLC film시에는 CH4 (20 sccm), H2 (80 sccm)가스의 유량을 고정하였다. 합성된 DLC 박막은 Contact Angle Analyze, Raman spectroscopy, Scratch tester를 이용하여 접촉각, D peak Position, G peak Position, ID/IG ratio, 접착력을 측정하였다.

An Efficient Tag Identification Algorithm Using Improved Time Slot Method (개선된 타임 슬롯 방법을 이용한 효과적인 태그 인식 알고리즘)

  • In recent year, the cores of ubiquitous environment are sensor networks and RFID systems. RFID system transmits the electronic information of the tag to the reader by using RF signal. Collision happens in RFID system when there are many matched tags, and it degrades the tag identification performance. Such a system needs algorithm which is able to arbitrate tag collision. This paper suggests a hybrid method which reduces collision between the tags, and can quickly identify the tag. The proposed method operates based on certainty, which takes an advantage of tree based algorithm, and to reduce collision it selects transmission time slot by using tag ID. The simulation results show the suggested method has higher performance in the number of queries and collision compared to other tree based and hybrid algorithms.

  • 반도체 제조는 chip의 성능 향상 및 단가 하락을 위해 지속적으로 pattern size가 nano size로 감소해 왔고, capacitor 용량은 증가해 왔다. 이러한 현상은 contact hole의 aspect ratio를 지속적으로 증가시킨바, 그에 따라 최적의 HARC (high aspect ratio contact)을 확보하는 적합한 dry etch process가 필수적이다. 그러나 HARC dry etch process는 많은 critical plasma properties 에 의존하는 매우 복잡한 공정이다. 따라서, critical plasma properties를 적절히 조절하여 higher aspect ratio, higher etch selectivity, tighter critical dimension control, lower P2ID과 같은 plasma characteristics을 확보하는 것이 요구된다. 현재 critical plasma properties를 제어하기 위해 다양한 plasma etching 방법이 연구 되어왔다. 이 중 plasma를 낮은 kHz의 frequency에서 on/off 하는 pulsed plasma etching technique은 nanoscale semiconductor material의 etch 특성을 효과적으로 향상 시킬 수 있다. 따라서 본 실험에서는 dual-frequency capacitive coupled plasma (DF-CCP)을 사용하여 plasma operation 동안 duty ratio와 pulse frequency와 같은 pulse parameters를 적용하여 plasma의 특성을 각각 제어함으로써 etch selectivity와 uniformity를 향상 시키고자 하였다. Selective SiO2 contact etching을 위해 top electrode에는 60 MHz pulsed RF source power를, bottom electrode에는 2MHz pulse plasma를 인가하여 synchronously pulsed dual-frequency capacitive coupled plasma (DF-CCP)에서의 plasma 특성과 dual pulsed plasma의 sync. pulsing duty ratio의 영향에 따른 etching 특성 등을 연구 진행하였다. 또한 emissive probe를 통해 전자온도, OES를 통한 radical 분석으로 critical Plasma properties를 분석하였고 SEM을 통한 etch 특성분석과 XPS를 통한 표면분석도 함께 진행하였다. 그 결과 60%의 source duty percentage와 50%의 bias duty percentage에서 가장 향상된 etch 특성을 얻을 수 있었다.

Assessment of Combined Effect of Installation Damage and Creep Deformation of Geogrids (지오그리드의 시공 시 손상 및 크리프 변형의 복합효과 평가)

  • A series of installation damage tests and creep tests are performed to assess the combined effect of installation damage and creep deformation far the long-term design strength of geogrid reinforcement. Three types of geogrids are used to investigate the influence of the geogrid types. From the experimental results, it is shown that installation damage and creep deformation of geogrids significantly depends on the polymer types of the geogrids and the larger the installation damage, the more the combined effect of installation damage and creep deformation. In addition, The results of this study show that the tensile strength reduction factor, RF, considering the combined effect between installation damage and creep deformation is less than that calculated by the current design practice which calculates the long-term design strength of geogrids damaged during installation by multiplying two partial safety factors, $RF_{ID}$ and $RF_{CR}$.

  • We have frequently felt it inconvenient to collect fare drawing the card in transportation system. Especially, for subway the fares of mass transportation at rush hours of the days, it's important to find a way to collect fares without unnecessarily delaying passengers. In this paper, we proposed a system for the gateless fare collection passing through the booth in only carrying the card. In this system that RF-ID system and Bluetooth are applied. We designed two wireless communication channels. One is the 125kHz communication channel by FSK and PSK for power supplying on the card and identification and the other is 2.4GHz channel for the collection.

  • 본 논문에서는 RFID를 위한 읽기 전용 CMOS 트랜스폰더를 one-chip으로 설계하였다. 리더에서 공급되는 자기장으로부터 트랜스폰더 칩의 전원을 공급하기 위한 전파정류기를 NMOS 트랜지스터를 사용하여 설계하였으며, 데이터 저장 소자로는 64비트의 ROM을 사용하였다. 메모리에 저장되어 있는 ID 코드는 Manchester 코딩되어 front-end 임피던스 변조 방식으로 리더에 전송된다. 임피던스 변조를 위한 감폭회로로는 리더와 트랜스폰더 사이의 거리가 변해도 일정한 감폭율을 갖는 새로운 감폭회로를 사용하였다. 설계된 회로는 0.65㎛ 2-poly, 2-metal CMOS 공정을 사용하여 IC로 제작되었다. 칩 면적은 0.9㎜×0.4㎜이다. 측정 결과 설계된 트랜스폰더 IC는 인식거리 내에서 약 20∼25%의 일정한 감폭율을 보이며, 125㎑의 RF에 대해 3.9kbps의 데이터 전송속도를 보인다. 트랜스폰더 칩의 전력소모는 읽기 모드시 약 100㎼이다. 인식거리는 약 7㎝이다.

  • In steel works, Locomotives and torpedo ladle cars are used to convey the smelted iron that comes out Blast Furnace to the steel-making mill. Above conveying vehicles are operated in all steel works area. And to trace their positions, after partitioned their areas, Automatic Vehicle Identification(RF-ID method) is installed on the railroad and identifies vehicle numbers. But AVI facilities have many problem that means that are too expensive, cost too much maintenance fee and inefficient management.   • Recently, research for the micro printing technology has begun to get into the spotlight. It is due to the superior price competitiveness to existent semi-conductor process for manufacturing some parts of display unit, electronic paper, RF-ID information device, and so on. This paper present screen printing process not for paper publication but for parts of electronics such as PDP wall, LCD CF, and so on. There are two major issues. The first one is how to get a fine and even line pattern. The other one is how to get the same patterns in large area. In this research, we present the design, equipment, and process control of screen printing in order to overcome these issues.
