  • This paper introduces a low-cost, high-performance mmWave antenna array module at 77 GHz. Conventional waveguide transitions have been replaced by 3D CPW-microstrip transitions which are much simpler to realize. They are compatible with low-cost substrate fabrication processes, allowing easy integration of ICs in 3D multi-chip modules. An antenna array is designed and implemented using multilayer coupled-fed patch antenna technology. The proposed $16{\times}16$ array antenna has a fractional bandwidth of 8.4% (6.5 GHz) and a 23.6-dBi realized gain at 77 GHz.

  • In this article, a novel design of patch antenna with wide band characteristics is presented. The proposed antenna is having electrical dimensions of $0.14{\lambda}{\times}0.11{\lambda}$ (at lower initial frequency) and footprints of $150mm^2$. Structural parameters optimization shows 3.1-23.5 GHz frequency range for a (reflection coefficient) $S_{11}{\leq}-10dB$ and simulated gain 6.8 dB is obtained. An equivalent circuit model is proposed to get an insight view of antenna. Advanced Systems Design (ADS) simulation results are obtain which confirm the validity of proposed model. Degenerated foster canonical form has been used to explain the reactance and capacitive behavior idea of simulated proposed antenna's input impedance later on an equivalent circuit model and smith chart is also suggested. HFSS and CST have been used to analyze antenna behavior. The proposed antenna can be further used for microwave image detection applications.

  • This study proposes the antenna circuit design for the transmitting wireless power, the development of the RF non-contact type Dosimeter. That is, the study designed the optimization and numerical analysis of the antenna circuit for the antenna design of 13.56MHz over the frequency bands for transmitting wireless power. We studied the needed items in the existing RF type Dosimeter with battery to implement the wireless power non-contact Dosimeter within the battery. We compared to the real measurement value as calculating the value of the inductance and capacitance through the numerical analysis for the antenna LC resonance using the theory of the electromagnetic induction method. This method to drive low power is designed to simplify the circuit and to improve the efficiency of the rectifier. We convince our research contributes not only to understand the simplified circuit and miniaturization, but also to help the design and application technology of the wireless power transmit system which is received power supply with wireless.

  • In this paper, we developed a RFID tag antenna using one-sheet inlay pattern which consist of two different frequencies in one layer. The antenna in one-sheet inlay RFID tag does not use different kind RFID antennas in a card but implement 13.56MHz and 900MHz RFID tag antennas in one sheet. In order to evaluate the usability of proposed method, we configured test equipments and designed 6 different patterns and test the recognition distance of each pattern. Among the one-sheet inlay RFID tag antenna designs, the pattern no.5 has good performance with recognition distance of 5.34m at 900MHz and 3.5m at 13.56MHz.

  • In this paper, the power management module of wireless sensor node is designed and fabricated utilizing RF energy from reader antenna of commercial RFID system, which is mainly categorized in the energy harvesting. For this, the rectenna and the high efficient boost converter is designed to get the DC power from RF power for the charging the battery. When the RF power from RFID reader antenna is 1.2[W], the DC power of 3.1[mW] at the distance of 1[m] and 1[mW] at 5.5[m] are obtained. Considering the connection to the battery, the boost converter for enhancing the conversion efficiency is designed. The conversion efficiency at the distance of 4[m] is 79.3[%] and the harvested power is 1.36[mW] which is actually used for the charging the battery. This value is available in the wireless sensor networking.

  • The Real Time Location System (RTLS) is very important in the ubiquitous society for real time tracking of men, high price assets, and logistics products. In this work, we developed an active RF system for RTLS and tested its performance. The RTLS system developed in this work was constructed of three active readers and one active tag. The small size tag developed in this work operated with a coin type battery. To make the tag smaller, we used an internal PCB antenna and a chip antenna. We tested the performance of the tag. To reduce the manufacturing cost of our RF system, we used low price RF transceiver CC2510 chip-set. The CC2510 chip-set provided RSSI(Received Signal Strength Indicator) signal which could be used to determine the distances between an active tag and three active readers.

  • This paper describes the RF(Radio Frequency) interference on the GNSS receiver due to the S-band signals transmitted from the transmitters in the Test Launch Vehicle, and analyzes the cause of the RF interference. Due to the S-band signals that have relatively high power levels compared with GNSS signals, an LNA(Low Noise Amplifier) in the active GNSS antenna was saturated, and the intermodulation signal within GNSS in-bands was produced in the LNA whenever two S-band signals were received from the GNSS antenna. For these reasons, the C/N0 of the satellite signals in the GNSS receiver was attenuated severely. The design of the LNA was changed in order to protect the RF interference due to the S-band signals and the suppression capability of the RF interference was confirmed in the new LNA through the comparison of the old LNA.

The antenna is simulated using CST MWS and manufactured using FR-4(h=1.0mm, ${\varepsilon}r=4.4$). The estimated bandwidth, gain and beamwidth are 4%(VSWR$\leq$2), 6.3dBi and about 60o in elevation and 15o in azimuth, respectively. The antenna is fabricated and optimized based on the simulation result and installed on the backside of the sensor circuit and measured. The measured bandwidth, gain and beamwidth are 7%(VSWR$\leq$2), 4.8dBi and about 55o(El)/15o(Az), respectively.

  • this is the study of the human body antenna device which can detect the powder in a 360-degree on(under) the ground whether it is metal or nonmetal using superhigh frequency RF beam equipped with the body. and it is able to transmit the data of the detection of the powder, battle combats can share that among them. with its flexible roof radial antenna structure, it emits the superhigh frequency RF beam to the front and flank multiply, preprocesses through the powder preprocessing part. and with the non-linear regression model algorism engine part, reflecting the attenuation characteristics depend on the delayed time of degree of the signal power which is received to the superhigh frequency RF beam. so it is able to detect the signal of the most likely mine or powder based on the degree of the answer signal power according to the delayed time of the superhigh frequency RF beam. also, it can detect the powder whether it is metal or nonmetal, mine, dud, VBIED. it can increase the chance of detection about 90% more than existing mine detector.
