광디스크 드라이브에서 ref_T. E신호 와 샘플펄스 신호를 이용한 평균 탐색시간 개선에 관한 연구 (A study on the improvement of average seek time which use ref_T. E signal and sample pulse signal in optical disk drive)

  • 본 논문에서는 광디스크 드라이브가 디스크상의 데이터를 탐색하는데 소요되는 평균탐색 시간 (Average Seek Time)을 개선하기 위한 방법으로 트랙추적 기준신호 (ref_T. E)와 샘플펄스 신호를 사용하여 평균탐색시간을 줄일수 있는 새로운 알고리즘을 제안 하였다. ref_T. E신호와 샘플펄스 신호를 사용하여 트랙을 탐색할 경우 목적트랙으로 이동한 다음 다시 위치를 확인하고 보상할 필요가 없도록하여 평균탐색시간을 개선하였다. 실험결과 28sec의 평균탐색시간을 보였다.

Ape1/Ref-1 Stimulates GDNF/GFR ${\alpha}$ 1-mediated Downstream Signaling and Neuroblastoma Proliferation

  • We previously reported that glial cell line-derived neurotropic factor (GDNF) receptor ${\alpha}$ 1 (GFR ${\alpha}$ 1) is a direct target of apurinic/apyrimidinic endonuclease 1 (Ape1/Ref-1). In the present study, we further analyzed the physiological roles of Ape1/Ref-1-induced GFR ${\alpha}$ 1 expression in Neuro2a mouse neuroblastoma cells. Ape1/Ref-1 expression caused the clustering of GFR ${\alpha}$ 1 immunoreactivity in lipid rafts in response to GDNF. We also found that Ret, a downstream target of GFR ${\alpha}$ 1, was functionally activated by GDNF in Ape1/Ref-1-expressing cells. Moreover, GDNF promoted the proliferation of Ape1/Ref-1-expressing Neuro2a cells. Furthermore, GFR ${\alpha}$ 1-specific RNA experiments demonstrated that the downregulation of GFR ${\alpha}$ 1 by siRNA in Ape1/Ref-1-expressing cells impaired the ability of GDNF to phosphorylate Akt and PLC ${\gamma}$-1 and to stimulate cellular proliferation. These results show an association between Ape1/Ref-1 and GDNF/GFR ${\alpha}$ signaling, and suggest a potential molecular mechanism for the involvement of Ape1/Ref-1 in neuronal proliferation.

최적의 연료분사와 점화시기 제어를 위한 자동차 엔진용 전자제어장치 설계 및 개발 (Design and Development of an Electronic Control Unit of the Automobile Engine for Optimal Fuel Injection and Spark Timing Control)

  • In this paper, an electronic control unit of the automobile engine for optimal fuel injection an spark timing control has been designed and developed. This system includes hardware and software for a precise control of fuel injection and ignition timing. Especially, the crank angle sensor provides two separate signals: One is the position signal (POS) which indicates 180 degree pulses per revolution, and the other is the reference signal (REF) that represents each cylinder individually. Consequently, the developed engine control system has been able to control fuel injection and ignition timing more quickly and accurately. Through the experiment, it has been found that the fuel injection duration and the position of MBT have been influenced by coolant temperature, air flow rate and engine speed.

마이크로컴퓨터를 이용한 가솔린 기관용 전자제어장치의 개발에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Development of an Electronic Control Unit for a Gasoline Engine using Microcomputer)

  • An ECU(Electronic Control Unit) with 16 bit microcomputer has been developed. This system includes hardware and software for more precise control on fuel injection, ignition timing, and idle speed. This control system employs an air flow sensor of the hot wire type, a direct ignition system, an idle speed control system using a solenoid valve, and a crank angle sensor. Especially, the crank angle sensor provides two separate signals: One is the position signal(POS) which indicates 180 degree pulses per revolution, and the other is the reference signla(REF) that represents each cylinder individually. The conventional engine control system requires at least two engine revolutions in order to identify the cylinder number. However, the developed engine control system can recognize the cylinder number within a quarter of an engine revolution. Therfore, the developed engine control system has been able to control fuel injection and ignition timing more quickly and accurately, Furthermore, the number of misfire reduces during the cold start.

  • A simulation procedure was developed for identifying Yungnam unit 2 excitation model parameters to improve the accuracy of stability simulation of KEPCO. First, generator model parameters are derived by using modified load rejection technique from measured load rejection test. For identifying excitation model parameters, switch was changed from MVR mode to AVR mode in Yungnam unit 2 excitation system instead of applying to a small step to the voltage reference($V_{ref}$) because of saving time and efforts, assuming the test result would show coincided result with applying to a small step to the $V_{ref}$. However, it was found that the response of switching from MVR to AVR is greatly different from it of applying small signal to the $V_{ref}$. A simulation procedure was needed to take into accounts of real AVR component status before and after switching from MVR to AVR. This paper reports the procedure which duplicated the measured response and addresses the merits of this test on conventional AVR step test.

  • High-bandwidth DRAM을 위해 1Gb/s의 데이터 전송률까지 동작하고 그 출력 전압 스윙이 온도와 전원 전압(VDD) 변동에 무관한 CMOS open-drain 출력 구조 회로를 설계하였다. 출력 구동 회로는 여섯 개의 binary-weighted NMOS 트랜지스터로 구성되는데, 이 여섯 개 중에서 ON시킬 current control register의 내용은 추가 호로 없이 DRAM 칩에 존재하는 auto refresh 신호를 이용하여 새롭게 수정하였다. Auto refresh 시간 구간동안 current control register를 수정하는데, 이 시간 구간동안 부궤환 (negative feedback) 동작에 의해 low level 출력 전압($V_OL$)이 저전압 밴드갭 기준전압 발생기(bandgap reference voltage generator)에 의해서 만들어진 기준전압($V_{OL.ref}$)과도 같도록 유지된다. 테스트 칩은 1Gb/s의 데이터 전송률까지 성공적으로 동작하였다. 온도 $20^{\circ}C$~$90^{\circ}C$, 전원 전압 2.25V~2.75V영역에서 최악의 경우 제안된 출력 구동 회로의 $V_{OL.ref}$$V_OL$의 변동은 각각 2.5%와 725%로 측정된 반면, 기존의 출력 구동 회로의 $V_OL$의 변동은 같은 온도의 전원 접압의 영역에 대해 24%로 측정되었다.

A Simple Real-Time DMPPT Algorithm for PV Systems Operating under Mismatch Conditions

  • This paper presents a distributed maximum power point tracking (DMPPT) algorithm based on the reference voltage perturbation (RVP) method for the PV modules of a series PV string. The proposed RVP-DMPPT algorithm is developed to accurately track the maximum power point (MPP) for each PV module operating under all atmospheric conditions with a reduced hardware overhead. To study the influence of parameters such as the controller reference voltage ($V_{ref}$) and PV current ($I_{pv}$) on the PV string voltage, a small signal model of a unidirectional differential power processing (DPP) based PV-Bus architecture is developed. The steady state and dynamic performances of the proposed RVP DMPPT algorithm and small signal model of the unidirectional DPP based PV-Bus architecture are demonstrated with simulations and experimental results. The accuracy of the RVP DMPPT algorithm is demonstrated by obtaining a tracking efficiency of 99.4% from the experiment.

Development of a Wideband EPR Spectrometer with Microstrip and Loop Antennas

  • We have developed a new non-conventional electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) spectrometer, in which no resonant cavity was used. We previously demonstrated a wide frequency range operation of an EPR spectrometer using two loop antennas, one for a microwave transmission and the other for signal detection [1]. In contrast to Ref. [1], the utilization of a microstrip antenna as a transmitter enhanced a capability of wide-band operation. The replacement of conventional capacitors with varactor diodes makes resonance condition easily reproducible without any mechanical action during tuning and matching procedure since the capacitance of the diodes is controlled electronically. The operation of the new EPR spectrometer was tested by measuring a signal of 1,1-diphenil-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) sample in the frequency range of 0.8-2.5 GHz.

  • The objective of this study is to evaluate an acoustic emission (AE) source characterization and fracture behavior of the SM45C steel by using back-propagation neural network (BPN). In previous research Ref. [8] about k-nearest neighbor classifier (k-NNC) continuity, we used K-means clustering method as an unsupervised learning method for obtaining multi-variate AE main data sets, such as AE counts, energy, amplitude, risetime, duration and counts to peak. Similarly, we applied k-NNC and BPN as a supervised learning method for obtaining multi-variate AE working data sets. According to the error of convergence for determinant criterion Wilk's ${\lambda}$, heuristic criteria D&B(Rij) and Tou values are discussed. As a result, in k-NNC before fracture signal is detected or when fracture signal is detected, showed that produce some empty classes in BPN. And we confirmed that could save trouble in AE signal processing if suitable error of convergence or acceptable encoding error give to BPN.

  • In this paper, an electronic control unit is developed using 16bit microcomputer for automobile engine. This system incorporate AFS(Air Flow Sensor) of Hot Wire type, DIS(Direct Ignition System), ISC(Idle Speed Control) system, CAS(Cranke Angle Sensor) and other peripheral device. This system includes hardware and software to facilitate precision control of both fuel injection and ignition timing. Especially, this controller consists of position signal(180 teeth) and 4 REF signals. Present system has maximum $720^{\circ}CA$ delay. But this system has maximum $180^{\circ}CA$. Thus, this system is able to precision control both fuel injection and ignition timing.
