Due to the transportability problems, long rail shall be from base rail unit, which is normally 100m for regular rail and 300m for high speed rail. After these rail units are transported from the fabricator to the site, the field weld would be performed.axial stresses in the long rail is mainly from the temperature differences at various locations the long rail. Also the gaps between each welds cause secondary axial stresses in the rail. In addition to these, re-welds the fractured rails, rail buckling, irregular rail vibration, rail twist also result innonuniform axial stresses in the rail. To obtain the rail buckling stability, the rail stresses shall be released due to the resetting of CWR. Traditionally two resetting of CWR methods have been applied, the one is rail heater and the other is rail tenser. these methods, the latter has been recommended because it has less limitation in the rail length and it is easier to minimized the force differences. But even in this method, the calculation is cumbersome and is not easy to find out the rail stress distribution itself.refined methodsxial stress resetting in the long rail is studied and this study be easily applied in the real construction. From this approach, more rational rail maintenance system can be expected.
A manipulator is operated for the motion of mechanical hands or arms. When a cup including liquid inside is shifted by a manipulator, it is important to know how a free surface of the liquid moves. In this study, non dimensional parameters have been found that affect the rise of the free surface in a cup moving with constant acceleration. The non-dimensional parameters are the dimensionless time, the ratio of inertia effect to viscous effect (the Reynolds number), aspect ratio of the liquid inside the cup and the acceleration ratio (the Froude number). Through this study, the height of the free surface rise in a cup has been predicted and the detailed velocities in the liquid have been examined. Generally, the maximum rise of the free surface is dependent on the Reynolds number and Froude number strongly, but on the aspect ratio weakly. However, the influence of the aspect ratio on the maximum rise of the free surface is not negligible in the range of 10 < Re < 100.
In this research, dilute colloidal suspension alumina nanofluids were prepared by dispersing alumina nanoparticles in DI water and ethylene glycol as base fluids. Particle size analyzer and TEM test results revealed that the size of the alumina nanofluids(3wt% and 5wt%) with dispersion time 3hrs were 46nm and 60nm respectively. Thermal conductivity of these alumina nanofluids was measured by means of hot wire technique using a LAMBDA system. For water based alumina nanofluids, thermal conductivity enhancement was from 2.29% to 3.06% with 5wt% alumina at temperatures ranging from 15 to $40^{\circ}C$. Whereas in case of ethylene glycol based alumina nanofluids under the same temperature range, thermal conductivity enhancement was from 9.6% to 10% with 5wt% alumina. An enhancement of 37% average convective heat transfer was achieved with 5wt% alumina nanofluids at Re of 1,100.
Cancer metabolism as a field of research was founded almost 100 years ago by Otto Warburg, who described the propensity for cancers to convert glucose to lactate despite the presence of oxygen, which in yeast diminishes glycolytic metabolism known as the Pasteur effect. In the past 20 years, the resurgence of interest in cancer metabolism provided significant insights into processes involved in maintenance metabolism of non-proliferating cells and proliferative metabolism, which is regulated by proto-oncogenes and tumor suppressors in normal proliferating cells. In cancer cells, depending on the driving oncogenic event, metabolism is re-wired for nutrient import, redox homeostasis, protein quality control, and biosynthesis to support cell growth and division. In general, resting cells rely on oxidative metabolism, while proliferating cells rewire metabolism toward glycolysis, which favors many biosynthetic pathways for proliferation. Oncogenes such as MYC, BRAF, KRAS, and PI3K have been documented to rewire metabolism in favor of proliferation. These cell intrinsic mechanisms, however, are insufficient to drive tumorigenesis because immune surveillance continuously seeks to destroy neo-antigenic tumor cells. In this regard, evasion of cancer cells from immunity involves checkpoints that blunt cytotoxic T cells, which are also attenuated by the metabolic tumor microenvironment, which is rich in immuno-modulating metabolites such as lactate, 2-hydroxyglutarate, kynurenine, and the proton (low pH). As such, a full understanding of tumor metabolism requires an appreciation of the convergence of cancer cell intrinsic metabolism and that of the tumor microenvironment including stromal and immune cells.

Background: Ovarian cancer is the most common cancer cause of gynecologic cancer deaths. In order to increase the likelihood of patient survival through primary operation by gyneco-oncologists, an appropriate algorithm for referral is considered here. Materials and Methods: Suspicious adnexal mass cases including ovarian malignancy probability score-1 (OMPS1) scores between 2.3-3.65 are re-evaluated by OMPS2. Sensitivity and specificity of each score were determined. Results: Sensitivity and specificity with a 3.82 score of OMPS2 in the studied subgroup (OMPS1 scores between 2.3-3.65) were 64% and 76.9% respectively. Conclusions: Management of OMPS1 scores of below 2.3 with sensitivity of 100% and above 3.65 with specificity of 72.9% is clear. In the subgroup of cases with OMPS1 score between 2.3-3.65, OMPS2 is helpful for triage with a cutoff score of 3.82.

When the steel containing Si is oxidated in hi temperature, Re2O3, Red scale is made on the metal side as the spike phase, and this scale invasion into matrix. Therefore, it affects the feature, after rolling. It is reported that the role of Si is FeO/Fe2SiO4 eutectic compound, but Si can not affect pure iron independently. There must be Ni, then the spike phase can exist. Prominence and depression made by Ni that is necessity at the process to work iron. Therefore, in this study after the change of the amount of Ni in pure iron and steel and oxidation, the structure of the oxide and the surface, and the distribution of the elements were considered. In conclusion, at 100$0^{\circ}C$, 110$0^{\circ}C$, 120$0^{\circ}C$ the curves of oxidation weight are all S curves. Especially, in the beginning of oxidation as the amount of Ni increase, the amount of oxidation also increase. Practical steel has less oxidation than pure steel added Ni. There is much FeO in Fe-Ni alloy, compare to practical steel which has much Fe3O4. Especially, we could know considerable Ni was concentrated on the metal side in Fe-Ni alloy, practical steel. and the surface of the scale.

In this study, shear strength behavior of fine-grained soils was investigated under unsaturated conditions. The samples in the unsaturated state were subjected to a net normal stress (σ-ua) of 40 kPa and different matric suctions (ua-uw) of 50, 100 and 150 kPa. The matric suction values applied in the triaxial tests were selected according to the bubbling pressures determined from the SWC curves. The study was carried out on prepared re-constituted cylindrical samples by uniaxial consolidation of soil slurries. First, consolidated drained (CD) triaxial compression tests were performed on the saturated samples and the cohesion and angle of internal friction were determined. After that, drained triaxial compression tests under matric suctions were performed on the unsaturated samples. In order to obtain unsaturated test results, cohesion and internal friction angle values of saturated samples were used. The nonlinear surface representing the shear strength surface was approximated consisting of two planes (double planar surface). The reason for the nonlinear behavior of some soils is that the amount of sand content contained in it is relatively high and the bubbling pressure/permanent water content value is relatively low.

Recently, heat-resistant aluminum alloy has been re-focused as a downsizing materials for the internal combustion engines. Heat-resistant Al alloy development and many researches are still ongoing for the purpose of improving thermal stability, high-temperature mechanical strength and fatigue properties. The conventional principle of heat-resistant Al alloy is the precipitation of intermetallic compounds by adding a variety of elements is generally used to improve the mechanical properties of Al alloys. Heat resistant aluminum alloys have been produced by CrW homogeneous solid solution to overcome the limit of conventional heat resistant aluminum alloy. From EPMA, it is found that CrW homogeneous soild solution phases with the size of $50-100{\mu}m$ have been dispersed uniformly, and there is no reaction between aluminum and CrW alloy. In addition, after maintaining at high temperature of 573 K, there is no growth of hardening phase, nor desolved, but CrW still exists as a homogeneous solid solution.
The present study deals with developing a new modem design of quilt which is characteristic of Korean traditional patterns. The goal of this study is to make some samples of the pattern as a basic motive of quilt work by using some Korean traditional patterns that could be found in roof tiles, windows, Neung-Hwa (a kind of wood cut for printing book covers), and others. This study examines the concept of quilts, their historical background, and their characteristics. This study also examines traditional patterns that are applicable to the patchy work of quilt, discussing the characteristic of both the Korean patterns and Nubi (Korean traditional quilt). In the process of pattern development, the original patterns were simplified and transformed to apply them to the modem quilt pattern. Fabrics (100% cotton) of similar colors were used to emphasize quilting lines. This study has found followings; 1) The geometric pattern usually consists of dots, lines, and faces. These patterns are suitable for pieced quilts. 2) The curvilinear pattern found in roof tiles or Yi-Dynasty coins, can be easily re-expressed by the applique technique. Combinations of fabrics and motive compositions can express quilts in realistic and creative ways. 3) Addition of Korean traditional quilt techniques, such as parallel lines or swastika stitches, to the traditional object-derived quilt patterns led to the creation of images close to the already existing Korean quilt, Nubi.
