Performance of a Reciprocating Compressor Equipped with Auxiliary Port (보조 흡입구가 장착된 왕복동 압축기의 성능 분석)

  • Auxiliary port which had been known to be used to reduce the expansion loss of a refrigeration system was applied to a R134a reciprocating compressor in a household refrigerator cycle with an intention of improving the compressor performance. Effects of the auxiliary port on the compressor performance was investigated by a computer simulation program. When a simple hole was made on the side wall of the cylinder as an auxiliary port and surrounding gas inside the compressor shell was assumed to be drawn into the cylinder through the hole, maximum COP improvement of 1.66% was obtained. With auxiliary port equipped with a plate type of check valve, maximum COP was raised to be 1.99%. COP improvement was more distinctive with decreasing the discharge pressure; COP improvement was 5% with discharge pressure of 7 bar.

  • Recently, construction industry in Korea is considering of various approaches for improving productivity and thus enhancing the competitive capacity in the global market. To this end, Korean Ministry of Construction & Transportation has launched R&D project in the field of automation, information systems, high value-added techniques. Furthermore, a new era of cities such as U-city and Eco-city is coming due to the government strategy for developing the country. In the regards of methodological development and trends of construction projects stated above, conventional methods for managing the projects is not likely to guarantee the success. Especially, in the planning and maintenance phases of such large scale cities, a new paradigm should be introduced. We thought of it as 3D object based simulation system for city planning. This paper describes the concept of the system.

  • 본 연구에서는 시뮬레이터나 그와 유사한 가상현실환경(Virtual Reality Environment ; VRE)에서 일어날 수 있는 Simulator Sickness가 어떤 사람들에게 쉽게 발생하는지를 예측하기 위하여 다중선형회귀(Multiple linear regression) 방정식으로 예측회귀모형을 제시하였다. 이 회귀모형에서의 종속변수는 김도희 외(1998)에 의해 개발된 RSSQ의 종합점수이고, 독립변수는 실제운전경력에 1을 더한 값에 나이를 곱한 값, 과거 멀미를 경험한 정도, 1주일 평균 동화상 시간, 현재의 건강상태로 되어져 있다. 이 회귀모형의 R2값은 약 0.52로 Kolasinski(1996)의 모델보다 설명력이 18% 증가하였고, 부수적인 별도의 실험을 하지 않고도 간단한 개인 신상에 관한 간단한 자료만으로도 훨씬 좋은 결과를 예측할 수 있게 되었다. 따라서 시뮬레이터나 가상현실에서 일어나는 Simulator Sickness가 어떠한 사람에게 걸리기가 쉬운지를 쉽게 예측할 수 있게 되었고, 이러한 사람들에게는 시뮬레이터나 가상현실의 이용을 자제시키거나 주의를 주어 특별관리 함으로써 시뮬레이터나 가상현실을 운영하는데 많은 도움을 줄 수 있을 것이다.

  • Microfibers of Poly(ethylene terephthalate)(PET)/Nylon 6 (P/N) was heat set at 170C in a fixed state and then treated with hydrazine at 30C for 5, 10, 15, 20, 30 and 40 h. Weight loss from the hydrazine treatment increased according to the hydrazine concentration(Fig.1). In order to investigate in detail the effect of the electrostatic attraction between the dye anion and hydrazide groups in cooperated by hydrazinolysis, -potential of P/N fiber was measured by streaming potential method. The surface charge density, o, of the fiber was evaluated from the -potential.

  • In order to scheme the optimal assumption that satisfies the travel demand, it should be review the elements that affect on determining the headway, which are signal systems, line shape, vehicle(Light Rail Transit) performance, and so on. When applying the conventional signal systems, including Fixed Block System and Moving Block System, It was confirmed whether or not satisfy the requirements of target line with the way of a numerical formula reviewing and Train performance Simulation on the main line, station, depot, and so forth. Therefore, it should be used as references that decide target line and each sub-system after identifying the compliances for Minimum Headway to Moving Block System.

  • In order to investigate the Possibility of utilizing corm as a seed corm In taro, the corm classified by the weight was planted on April 20, 1984. The effect of weight of corm (30, 50, 70, 90, 110, 130150r and 170g) on the growth, yield, and quality of taro was compared to those raised from cornel.The corm showed a better emergence rate than cermets regardless of its size. The larger the size ofcorm wasi the more the number of leaves developed, and the fisher the yield was. It was consideredthat the higher yield and better quality of taro was obtained by using larger corm as a mother corm( in the following year) due to the increase in the production of large taros.

Water Quality Comparison in the Three Streams of Pusan Area (부산지역 3개 하천의 수질 특성 비교)

  • The purpose of thins study was to investigate the pollutions of water Qualities in 30 water samples from Nakdong River Western Nakdong River, and Suyoung Stream. COB, BOD. T-N and negative ion(F, Cl+, NO3-, SO42-) of water samples were analysed and the correlationships between water qualities were examined. The mean concentrations of COD(20.26ppm), BOD(25.36ppm), and T-N(18.05ppm) were the highest in the water sample of Suyoung Stream among the three streams and those of F-(0.25ppm), Cl+(2770ppm), and SO42-(37.66ppm) In Western Nakdong River, that of NO3-(10.8 ppm) in Nakdong River. The water quality of Suyoung Stream was the worst among the three streams in hsn area. The correlationships between water qualities were as follows , BOD and COD showed very high correlationship(correlation cofficient, r=0.97),50,2- and NO3'did high one(0.75), and NOa'and COD, BOD did relatively high ones(0.56 and 0.48, respectively).

  • In modern EHV (Extra High Voltage) class GCBs (Gas Circuit Breakers), the interruption capability for SLF (Short Line Fault) is one of the most important aspects of performance required for GCBs. Up to now, the SLF interruption capability of EHV class GCBs was partially assisted by the adoption of capacitors able to decrease the dV/dt of the TRV (Transient Recovery Voltage), particularly the TRV on the line side. This paper describes the technique to increase the SLF interruption capability of EHV class GCBs as well as the procedure to develop capacitorless l70kV 50kA GCB.

On cutting characteristics of glass fiber reinforced plastic (유리섬유강화수지의 절삭특성)

  • The purpose of this study is to understand the cutting characteristics of glass-fiber rein- forced plastic (GFRP) by investigating the variation of cutting force and surface roughness, depending on the amount fo flank wear and cutting conditions. And a Taylor type tool life equation is derived using the regression analysis. The present study reveals that, 1. Taylor's eqquation can be applicable to GFRP nd the constants n (0.170-0.175) and C (53.7- 64.4) are smaller than those in cutting of steel. 2. Principal cutting force increases sharply with the increase of feed rate, but feed force and radial force are almost constant. This result is quite different from that of metal cutting. 3. Cutting forces ($F_P, \;F_Q, \;F_R$) increase with the increase of flank wear, and feed force especially increases sharply with the increase of flank wear. 4. Surface roughness changes very much along the circumference of the workpiece and the amount of flank wear has almost no effect on surface roughness.
