This paper presents power supply-insensitive Gbps low power LVDS I/O circuits. The proposed LVDS I/O has been designed and simulated using 1.8V, $0.18\;{\mu}m$ TSMC CMOS Process. The LVDS I/O includes transmitter and receiver parts. The transmitter circuits consist of a differential phase splitter and an output stage with the switched capacitor common mode feedback(SC-CMFB). The differential phase splitter generates a pair of differential signals which provides a balanced duty $cycle(50{\pm}2%)$ and phase difference$(180{\pm}0.2^{\circ})$ over a wide supply voltage range. Also, $V_{OD}$ voltage is 250 mV which is the smallest value of the permissible $V_{OD}$ range for low power operation. The output buffer maintains the required $V_{CM}$ within the permissible range$(1.2{\pm}0.1V)$ due to the SC-CMFB. The receiver covers a wide input DC offset $range(0.2{\sim}2.6\;V)$ with 38 mV hysteresis and Produces a rail-to-rail output over a wide supply voltage range. Beside, the designed receiver has 38.9 dB gain at 1 GHz, which is higher than conventional receivers.

An abrupt scene-change frame is one that is hardly correlated with the previous frames. In that case, because an intra-coded frame has less distortion than an inter-coded one, almost all macroblocks are encoded in intra mode. This breaks up the rate control flow and increases the number of bits used. Since the reference software for H.264 takes no special action for a scene-change frame, several studies have been conducted to solve the problem using the quadratic R-D model. However, since this model is more suitable for inter frames, the existing schemes are unsuitable for computing the QP of the scene-change intra frame. In this paper, an improved rate control scheme accounting for the characteristics of intra coding is proposed for scene-change frames. The proposed scheme was validated using 16 test sequences. The results showed that the proposed scheme performed better than the existing H.264 rate control schemes. The PSNR was improved by an average of 0.4-0.6 dB and a maximum of 1.1-1.6 dB. The PSNR fluctuation was also in proved by an average of 18.6 %.

BACKGROUND: The current study developed a monitoring method of 6 veterinary antibiotics (amoxicillin, ampicillin, enrofloxacin, tetracycline, chlortetracycline, oxytetracycline) in agricultural soils using liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) in positive electrospray ionization mode.METHODS AND RESULTS: Sample preparation was carried out using acidic acetonitrile and citrate salts followed by purification with dispersive solid phase extraction (d-SPE). Separation on Eclipse Plus C18 column was conducted in gradient of the mobile phase, 0.1% formic acid and 5 mM ammonium formate in methanol (A) and 0.1% formic acid and 5 mM ammonium formate in distilled water (B). The linearity of the matrix-matched calibrations expressed as the coefficient of determination was good with R2≥0.9900. The limit of quantifications (LOQs) ranged from 0.5 to 10 μg/kg for all analytes. Analysis of 51 agricultural soil samples taken in the Republic of Korea revealed concentrations less than 1.9 μg/kg for enrofloxacin, 75.5 μg/kg for chlortetracycline.CONCLUSION: The method was successfully applied to monitor 6 veterinary antibiotics from 51 field incurred agricultural soil samples in 17 provincial areas throughout the Republic of Korea. The developed method was simple, easy, and versatile and can be used for monitoring various veterinary antibiotics in soil.
Colistin is a last resort antimicrobial agent against multi-drug resistant Gram-negative bacteria. This study was conducted to develop an analytical method to determine colistin in fish and shrimp. The analytes were confirmed and quantified via liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) in the positive ion mode using multiple reaction monitoring (MRM). The sample was extracted with acidified 5% methanol (containing 0.5% formic acid). Then, solid phase extraction (SPE) was used for cleanup. Matrix-matched calibration curves were linear over the calibration ranges (0.05-1.2 mg/kg) for all the analytes into blank sample with $r^2$ > 0.99. All the values fulfilled the criteria requested by the Codex guidelines. Average recoveries ranged from 85.9% to 107.9%. The repeatability of measurements, expressed as the coefficient of variation (CV, %), was less than 15%. The limit of detection (LOD) was 0.02 mg/kg, and the limit of quantitation (LOQ) was 0.05 mg/kg. This improved method showed higher accuracy and acceptable sensitivity to meet the CAC guideline requirements and is applicable for the analysis of residual colistin (A+B) in fish and shrimp.
Clozapine, on atypical antipsychotic drug, has been estimated to be a major improvement in the treatment-refractory schizophrenic patients. We evaluated the clozapine efficacy in the treatment of schizophrenic patients who are refractory to classic neuroleptics. The patients were assigned in a prospective, open, comparative trial for 12 weeks. Following an dose titration, 33 inpatients with treatment-refractory schizophrenia diagnosed according to DSM-III-R were given a clozapine(N=17, approximate 300-600mg/day) or haloperidol(N=16, approximate 20-30 mg/day) for 12 weeks. The clinical state was assessed before treatment, and 1st, 4th, 8th and 12th week during treatment using Brief Psychiatric Rating Scale(BPRS) and Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale(PANSS). Assessment of side effects were mode weekly using Simpson-Angus Scale for Extrapyramidal Side Effects and Adverse Events-Somatic Symptoms. Clozapine produces significant improvement than haloperidol on the BPRS and PANSS scores. 77% (13/17) of the clozapine-treated patients were categorized as responders, who showed at least 20% decrease in total BPRS scores, compared with 31% (5/16) of haloperidol-treated patients. Extrapyramidal side effects occurred in only one patient in clozapine group, but nine patients in haloperidol group. Salivation, sleepiness, constipation and hypotension were most frequent adverse effects observed in clozapine group. There was no significant changes in total WBC and neutrophil during clozapine treatment. These findings suggest that clozapine is on effective antipsychotic drug for the Korean treatment-refractory schizophrenic patients, who are nonresponsive to or unable to tolerate classcal antipsychotic drugs due to extrapyramidal side effects.

The wine industry requires practical methods for objectively measuring the composition of both red wine grapes on the vine to determine optimal harvest time; and of freshly harvested grapes for efficient allocation to vinery process streams for particular red wine products, and to determine payment of contract grapegrowers. To be practical for industry application these methods must be rapid, inexpensive and accurate. In most cases this restricts the analyses available to measurement of TSS (total soluble solids, predominantly sugars) by refractometry and pH by electropotentiometry. These two parameters, however, do not provide a comprehensive compositional characterization for the purpose of winemaking. The concentration of anthocyanin pigment in red wine grapes is an accepted indicator of potential wine quality and price. However, routine analysis for total anthocyanins is not considered as a practical option by the wider wine industry because of the high cost and slow turnaround time of this multi-step wet chemical laboratory analysis. Recent work by this ${group}^{l,2}$ has established the capability of near infrared (NIR) spectroscopy to provide rapid, accurate and simultaneous measurement of total anthocyanins, TSS and pH in red wine grapes. The analyses may be carried out equally well using either research grade scanning spectrometers or much simpler reduced spectral range portable diode-array based instrumentation. We have recently expanded on this work by collecting thousands of red wine grape samples in Australia. The sample set spans two vintages (1999 and 2000), five distinct geographical winegrowing regions and three main red wine grape varieties used in Australia (Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz and Merlot). Homogenized grape samples were scanned in diffuse reflectance mode on a FOSE NIR Systems6500 spectrometer and subject to laboratory analysis by the traditional methods for total anthocyanins, TSS and pH. We report here an analysis of the correlations between the NIR spectra and the laboratory data using standard chemometric algorithms within The Unscrambler software package. In particular, various subsets of the total data set are considered in turn to elucidate the effects of vintage, geographical area and grape variety on the measurement of grape composition by NIR spectroscopy. The relative ability of discrete calibrations to predict within and across these differences is considered. The results are then used to propose an optimal calibration strategy for red wine grape analysis.

Beverages based on fruit juices are among the most popular commercially available drinks. There is an ever-increasing demand for these juices in the market. Orange juice is one of the most common as well as most favorite flavor. The fruit processing industries have a tremendous responsibility of quality control. For quality evaluation estimation of various components of the juice is necessary. Sucrose, glucose, fructose, citric acid and malic acid are the prime components of orange juice. Little information is available on analysis of orange juice. However, conventional and general wet chemistry procedures are currently being used which are no longer desired by the industry owing to the time involved, labor input and harmful chemicals required for each analysis. Need to replace these techniques with new, highly specific and automated sophisticated techniques viz. HPLC and spectroscopy has been realized since long time. Potential of Near Infrared Spectroscopy in quantitative analysis of different components of food samples has also been well established. A rapid, non-destructive and accurate technique based on Near Infrared Spectroscopy for determination of sugars and organic acids in orange juice will be highly useful. The current study is an investigation into the potential of Near Infrared Diffuse Reflectance Spectroscopy for rapid quantitative analysis of sucrose, glucose, fructose citric acid and malic acid in orange juice. All the Near Infrared measurements were peformed on a dispersive NIR spectrophotometer (ELICO 153) in diffuse reflectance mode. The spectral region from 1100 to 2500nm has been explored. The calibration has been performed on synthetic samples that are mixtures of sucrose, glucose, fructose, citric acid and malic acid in different concentration ranges typically encountered real orange juice. These synthetic samples are therefore considered to be representatives of natural juices. All the Near Infrared spectra of synthetic samples were subjected to mathematical analysis using Partial Least Square (PLS) algorithm. After the validation, calibration was applied to commercially available real samples and freshly squeezed natural juice samples. The actual concentrations were compared with those predicted from calibration curve. A good correlation is obtained between actual and predicted values as indicated by correlation coefficient ($R^2$) value, which is close to unity, showing the feasibility of the technique.
In electric commuter trains using AC motors, lots of GTO thyristors and diodes are needed for power controls. These semiconductors generate heat about 1~2 kW, and for cooling which perfluorocarbon(PFC) heat pipes have been in use for the last two decades. The present study was investigated on the effects of such important design parameters as structure of internal surface (grooved or smooth), fill charge ratio, and inclinating angle from a vertical on heat transfer coefficients at both evaporators and condensers. To obtain experimental data, several heat pipes of the same geometry of 520 mm long and diameter of 15.88 mm but different in fill charge ratio and internal surface structure were designed and fabricated. For prediction of the heat transfer coefficients, related expressions were examined and the results of calculations were compared with experimental data. Performance tests were conducted while heat pipes operated at mode of thermosyphons. High enhancements of heat transfer coefficient were obtained internal grooves. In these cases, the evaporating heat transfer coefficients distributed in the range of 2~5.5 kW/$m^2$K, with an increase of heat flux from 15~45 kW/$m^2$. These experimental data were in good agreement with Rohsenow's expression based on nucleate boiling when correction factor $C_R$=1.3 was encountered. In addition, the condensation heat transfer coefficients were distributed from 1.5 to 3.5 kW/$m^2$K, and the data were in good agreements with Nusselt's correlation, based on filmwise condensation on vertical plate, when choosing a correction factor $C_N=4$. A fill charge ratio of 40~100% were recommended, and the in clination angle effects were negligible when the angle was higher then 30$^{\circ}$.

In this paper IoT/WSN(Internet of Things/Wireless Sensor Network) has been modeled with a random geometric graph. And a performance of the decentralized code for the efficient storage of data which is generated from WSN has been analyzed. WSN with n=100 or 200 has been modeled as a random geometric graph and has been simulated for their performance analysis. When the number of the total nodes of WSN is n=100 or 200, the successful decoding probability as decoding ratio ${\eta}$ depends more on the number of source nodes k rather than the number of nodes n. Especially, from the simulation results we can see that the successful decoding rate depends greatly on k value than n value and the successful decoding rate was above 70% when $${\eta}{\leq_-}2.0$$. We showed that the number of operations of BP(belief propagation) decoding scheme increased exponentially with k value from the simulation of the number of operations as a ${\eta}$. This is probably because the length of the LT code becomes longer as the number of source nodes increases and thus the decoding computation amount increases greatly.

The precedent study stage of defense programs is a project stage that is conducted to support the determination of an efficient acquisition method of the weapon system determined by the requirement. In this study, the FTA/FMEA technique was used in the safety analysis process to identify elements to be conducted in the precedent study stage and a methodology for deriving the key review elements through conceptualization and tailoring was suggested. To supplement the key elements derived from the existing research, it is necessary to analyze various events that may arise from key elements. To accomplish this, the HAZOP technique for safety analysis in other industrial fields was used to supplement the results of kdy element derivation. We analyzed and modeled the execution procedure by establishing input/output information and association with the key elements of the precedent study stage derived by linking HAZOP/FTA/FMEA techniques. In addition, performance maturity was evaluated for performance of precedent study, and a risk-based response manual was generated based on inter-working information with key elements with low maturity. Based on the results of this study, it is possible to meet the performance, cost, and schedule of the project implementation through application of the key elements and procedures and the risk management response manual in the precedent study stage of the defense program.
