  • Many companies around the world are applying CMMI to improve the organization's ability to perform projects, and many others are pushing to obtain CMMI certification as more and more of them are offered as preconditions for participation in projects or supply product. Organizations with high maturity such as CMMI Level 4~5, analyze the accumulated R&D data of the organization and establish the performance management model so that R&D performance is continuously managed. So this paper shows the R&D performance management model made by LIGNex1 which is certificated with CMMI Level 5 organization and the case applied to the project, including its effectiveness.

  • Bifacial photovoltaic (PV) technology has received considerable attention in recent years due to the potential to achieve a higher annual energy yield compared to its monofacial PV systems. In this study, we fabricated the bifacial c-Si PV module with a shingled design using the conventional patterned bifacial solar cells. The shingled design PV module has recently attracted attention as a high-power module. Compared to the conventional module, it can have a much more active area due to the busbar-free structure. We employed the transparent backsheet for a light reception at the rear side of the PV module. Finally, we achieved a conversion power of 453.9 W for a 1300 mm × 2000 mm area. Moreover, we perform reliability tests to verify the durability of our Shingled Design Bifacial c-Si Photovoltaic module.

  • In the present study, we perform LES of turbulent flow and temperature fields in a circular impinging jet at Re=5000 for two cases of H/D=2 and 6 (H denotes the distance between the jet exit and flat plate, and D does the diameter of the jet exit). In the case of H/D=2, the regular vortical structures observed in free jet do not exist because of the smaller distance than the potential core. The Nusselt number on the wall is largest at $r/D{\cong}10.67$ where vortex rings Impinge. At $r/D{\cong}1.5{\~}2.0$, the vortex rings induce the secondary vortices, resulting in a secondary peak in the Nusselt number there. In the case of H/D=6, the vortex rings change into three-dimensional vortical structures and the small-scale vortices impinge on the flat plate. The increase of turbulent intensity due to small-scale vortices results in the largest Nusselt number at the stagnation point.

  • In order to predict failure behavior of advanced high-strength steel sheets (AHSS) in hole expansion tests, damage model was developed considering surface condition sensitivity (with specimens prepared by milling and punching: 340R, TRIP590, TWIP940). To account for the micro-damage initiation and evolution as well as macro-crack formation, the stress triaxiality dependent fracture criterion and rate-dependent hardening and ultimate softening behavior were characterized by performing numerical simulations and experiments for the simple tension and V-notch tests. The developed damage model and the characterized mechanical property were incorporated into the FE program ABAQUS/Explicit to perform hole expansion simulations, which showed good agreement with experiments.

  • To perform R&D program, it is necessary to invest input factor(I/F). And these factor are converted to output factors(O/F) at the end of R&D program. Pee. reviewers evaluate output factors and produce evaluation grades(E/G). This paper try to analyze the relationship to I/F, O/F and E/G, According to the analysis results, the relation between I/F and E/G is as weak as the relation between O/F and E/G. The strength of relationship is relatively very strong in the relation between I/F and O/F

  • The advantage of application polymer instead of conventional porcelain as the housing material for arrester is that light weight, shorter section length of arrester would be possible due to the use of an insulated hanger (mold compound). also, polymer arrester has very good characteristics in design versatility as well as excellent resistance to moist ingress and pollution performance. The finite element method is widely used to calculate for electromagnetic devices. In this paper, we perform the each conditional analysis of PC with an advanced graphical user interface(GUI) using the vector fields simulator. And we try to analyze electromagnetic fields through the conventional two dimensional analysis in case of high voltage contamination on the electrode of a arrester.

  • With the advent of new frontiers in robotics, the spectrum of robot research area has widened in many fields and applications. Other than conventional robot research, many technologies such as smart devices, drones, healthcare robots, and soft robots are emerging as promising applications. Due to the research complexity of this topic, this research requires international collaboration and should be fertilized by R&D policies. This paper aims to propose a method to perform a cross-national analysis of robot research with unstructured data such as papers in the proceedings of an international conference. Text analytics are applied to extract research issues and applications in an automatic manner.

  • The electric motor is essential to drive turbo machinery. In order to overcome the speed limitations of general motors, the inverter is used to perform high speed to tens of rpm. The high speed drives are widely used in many applications such as turbo blower, turbo centrifugal compressors, and pump using air bearing technique. Starting of high speed motor can cause step out, stall, oscillation of motor because the phase inductance is much smaller than that of ordinary motor. This paper studied on the starting characteristic of variable speed centrifugal chiller considering high speed motor characteristics. Finally, the superiority of the inverter is verified by experimental results.

  • The Integrated Condition Assessment System (ICAS) is a system that supports Condition Based Maintenance (CBM) by diagnosing the status of major onboard equipment on a naval ship in real time and allowing maintenance personnel to immediately perform maintenance when an abnormal condition occurs to maintain the operational performance of the on-board equipment. This study introduces the necessity of data preprocessing collected from naval ship, and compare and review baselines generated through statistical and designed machine learning algorithms using the same data preprocessing. Through these, this paper analyzes and proposes the suitability of a baseline algorithm, a machine learning methods that has not been applied to the condition based maintenance of naval ship equipment.

  • A rapid assay for interferon based on reduction of cytopathic effect was developed with HEp-2 and Vesicular Stomatitis Virus. The number of manipulations and the lengths of the various incubation steps were reduced to minimum. The assay is simple to perform and can be completed with 22-24 hr. Moreover, it was precise method than CPE-reading method.
