석탄-물 혼합연료(CWM)의 분무 특성 (Atomization Characteristics of Coal-Water Mixture Fuel)

  • Coal-water mixture(CWM) fuel has attracted much attention as a substitute fuel for oil by which high economics and short-term commercialization might be realized in comparison with other coal conversion technologies. There are many factors that affect the CWM combustibility, such as the physical properties of CWM, the performance of atomizer and burner, operating conditions, capacity and load of the boiler, etc. Particularly, atomization quality is extremely critical to achieving acceptable carbon conversion efficiency of CWM fuel and maintaining the flame stability, because the coal particles in the CWM droplets burn as agglomerates. This paper presents the R&D results about the CWM atomization characteristics, including the significance of CWM atomization the R&D results about the CWM atomization characteristics, including the significance of CWM atomization quality, the atomization and combustion mechanism, the type of CWM atomizer, size and size distribution of CWM droplets and some factors that influence the atomization performance.

ACC Stop&Go 시스템의 근접 Cut-In 성능 비교에 대한 연구 (A Study on Near Cut-In Performance Comparison on Adaptive Cruise Control Stop&Go)

  • Adaptive cruise control Stop&Go system has been developed to reduce the driver's workload on highway or public road. This system is characterized by a moderate control of engine and brake actuator. A control system capable of modeling driver's driving characteristics has been constructed to provide natural vehicle behavior in full speed driving. But, ACC Stop&Go system has some limitations. One of the limitations is a detection limitation on near cut-in situation. This paper presents development of the near cut-in test procedure, finding of the limitation value on near cut-in scenario and performance comparisons on ACC Stop&Go system.

p-version 무한요소를 적용한 지반-구조물 상호작용해석의 계산속도 향상 (A Speed-Up in Computing Time for SSI Analysis by p-version Infinite Elements)

  • 이 연구에서는 p-version 동적무한요소법을 도입함으로써 FE-IE 기법에 기반한 KIESSI-3D 프로그램의 속도향상에 역점을 두었다. KIESSI-3D의 성능을 평가하기 위해 8가지 실규모 SSI 문제에 대한 수치해석을 수행하였다. 이를 위해 근역지반 모델의 반경($r_0$)이 구조물기초 반경(R)의 1.2배, 1.5배, 3.0배인 KIESSI-3D 해석모델을 고려하였다. 또한 SASSI2010 프로그램을 이용한 SSI 해석을 수행하였으며, 이 결과를 KIESI-3D에 의한 결과와 정확성 및 계산속도를 비교하였다. 수치해석 결과, 인 KIESI-3D 모델을 사용하면 정확한 해석을 수행할 수 있음을 알 수 있었다. 계산속도 측면을 보면, 새로운 KIESSI-3D의 해석속도는 기존 KIESSI-3D에 비해 최대 25배 빠른 것으로 나타났다.

성능 예측 상관식에 따른 쉐브론 형태 판형 열교환기 성능 특성 비교 (Comparison of Performance Characteristics in the Chevron Type Plate Heat Exchanger with Performance Correlation)

  • The performance of a plate heat exchanger for using liquid solution in the absorption chiller-heater was analyzed. The model was developed by using the various performance prediction correlations. The performance characteristics of the plate heat exchanger with the mass flow rate ratio was verified by using experimental data. To investigate performance of plate heat exchanger with geometry variables, the chevron angle, corrugated wave length, and corrugation depth were changed. As a result, the capacity of Kim and Martin correlation models was similar with the experimental data, and the capacity difference was less than 2%. Besides, the pressure drop of Marin correlation model showed a similar variation with experimental data, and the difference of pressure drop was less than 1.5 kPa.

전기도금된 Cu-Sn과 Ni preplated frame의 특성 비교 (Comparison of the Characteristics of Cu-Sn and Ni Pre-Plated Frames Prepared by Electro-Plating)

  • In order to improve the performance of PPFs (Pre-Plated Frames), a PPF that employed a Cu-Sn alloy instead of conventionally used Ni was developed and then its properties were investigated. It was found that the electoplated Cu-Sn alloy layer was a mixture of uniformly distributed fine crystallites, resulting In better wettability and crack resistance than those of Ni PPF. Moreover, as in Cu/Ni/Pd/Au PPF, migration of copper atoms from the base metal to the top of the Cu/Cu-Sn/Pd/Au PPF surface was not found although the Cu-Sn layer itself contained considerable amount of copper. It was expected that, by using the newly developed Cu-Sn PPF, any possible heat generation and signal interrupt caused by an external electro-magnetic field could be reduced because the Cu-Sn layer was paramagnetic, i.e., nonmagnetic.

  • As enforced by the regulation on the improving fuel efficiency and increased the demand on green technology, many interests are focused on electric vehicles and hybrid vehicles. Thus the technology development in electrification of vehicle operation system, including steering and braking field, is actively progressive. Especially electric power steering substitutes for hydraulic power steering rapidly in the market, which is more complex and bigger in packaging volume compared with electric power steering system. The core component in electric power steering system is a motor, which is required to be silent and powerful to guarantee required system performance. Brushless synchronous motors are widely used and many variations of the motors are introduced in the market, while the performance of each type is not well defined or studied for electric power steering system. In this paper, recent developments in brushless synchronous motor are reviewed and compared applying finite element analysis in electromagnetic field. As results, each characteristic of different types of brushless synchronous motors is compared and summarized for optimized selection in electric power steering system.

  • Since the advent of conceptual prototype and seminal application, the notion of national systems of innovation(NSI) has drawn an increasing recognition. Although the morphological entanglement is still ubiquitous and the theoretical underpinning is fragile, NSI seems to be the last step toward an increasingly complex and encompassing concept of innovation research. Inevitably, NSI necessitates the comparative analysis in that it normatively attempts to draw best practices. Unfortunately, national profiles are too complex and diverse to derive a unified, concrete representation of the system, posing the problem of defining and modelling NSI for international comparison. This paper aims at providing an inductive taxonomy of NSI based on R&D structure of OECD member economies. Based on the similarity among national profiles, clustering method was applied to identify seven clusters such as (1) enterprise-government funding and enterprise-education performing group, (2) enterprise-government funding and balanced performing group, (3) balanced funding and enterprise-education performing group, (4) balanced funding and performing group, (5) enterprise-dominating group, (6) government-education dominating group and (7) government-education funding and education performing group. This paper by nature is descriptive and exploratory. R&D structure represents a static snapshot of innovative performance since it accounts for only the input side of NSI and thus may not offer convincing explanations of the holistic innovation system. A more detailed and extensive analysis on the economic/technological performance across clusters will shed light on the promising avenue to future research.

시뮬레이션과 청감실험을 통한 공연장 형태별 음향성능 비교분석 (Comparison of the acoustical performance of auditoria by shapes using acoustic simulation and listening tests)

  • 본연구에서는 홀의 건축형태에 따른 음향성능을 분석하였다. 홀에는 4가지 건축 형태가 있다. 장방형, 말발굽형, 서라운드형(Surround), 부채꼴형이다. 음향성능을 분석하는데 RT60, EDT, C80, BQI, LF, Gmid, G125, ITDG 총 8개의 음향인자를 사용하였으며 건축형태에 따른 음향성능을 연구하기 위해 두 가지 접근 방식을 사용하였다. 첫째 전세계 유명 콘서트홀의 측정 데이터를 분석하였다. 설문조사로 조사한 홀의 주관적 선호도와 측정된 음향 인자 사이의 관계를 회귀 분석해 상관계수 R을 얻었으며 각 공연장 형태별 음향인자 측정데이터 평균을 구하였다. 각각의 음향 인자에 대한 가중치로 상관계수 R을 사용해 각 형태별 음향 성능을 계산하였다. 그 결과 장방형 홀과 말밥굽형 홀이 좋은 음향 성능을 보였으나 부채꼴형 홀의 음향성능은 좋지 않았다. 둘째, 각 건축형태별 3D 모델을 만들어 음향 시뮬레이션을 수행했다. 동일한 체적과 흡음계수를 가지는 장방형, 말밥굽형, 서라운드형, 부채꼴형 3D 모델을 만들어 시뮬레이션을 진행해 음향인자 값을 산출하였다. 또한 형태별 3D 모델의 임펄스 응답을 사용해 가청화 시제를 만들어 청감실험을 진행하였다. 그 결과 장방형 홀과 말굽 홀이 가장 좋은 음향성능을 나타냈으며 서라운드형과 부채꼴형은 상대적으로 떨어지는 음향성능을 나타내었다.

수소 충전소 계량오차 검증 설비 설치를 위한 위험성 분석 사례 연구 (A Case Study on the Risk Analysis for the Installation of Measurement Error Verification Facility in Hydrogen Refueling Station)

  • 수소 충전소를 이용한 에너지원의 상거래에 있어 부정확한 계량에 의한 과 충전 등의 사고 예방과 정확한 계량을 통한 수소 상거래의 투명성 확보를 위해서는 높은 정확도의 유량계가 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 코리올리 방식 유량계 시작품을 개발하였으며, 계량 성능 검증을 위하여 기존에 운영 중인 충전소를 대상으로 공정변경을 통한 계량 성능 비교 실험 중 발생할 수 있는 사고의 예방을 위하여 위험성 평가를 수행하였다. 실증실험용 계량설비 설치를 위한 공정 변경 구간을 정의하고 HAZOP을 실시하였다. 또한 실증 실험 중 밸브오 개방 예방 등 실험자 안전성 확보를 위한 JSA도 병행하였다. HAZOP을 통하여 도출된 위험 요소를 개선하기 위한 방안을 수립하였으며 JSA를 통해 인적오류를 최소화하고 작업자의 안전성 확보할 수 있는 작업 절차를 수립하였다. 이와 같은 위험성 평가 결과를 반영하여 계량시스템 설치를 위한 설계 변경 및 시스템 제작을 완료하였으며 개발된 계량기 시작품의 성능비교 실험을 통해 안전성을 확인할 수 있었다. 개발된 시작품 유량계는 70MPa의 운전 조건에서 총 30회 유량 측정 실험 결과 평균 오차는 -1.58% ~ 3.96%로 나타났다. 이와 같은 계량오차는 상업용으로 설치 운영 중인 유량계와 동등 수준의 성능을 가진 것으로 분석되었다.

A Study on Algorithm Selection and Comparison for Improving the Performance of an Artificial Intelligence Product Recognition Automatic Payment System

  • This study is to select an optimal object detection algorithm for designing a self-checkout counter to improve the inconvenience of payment systems for products without existing barcodes. To this end, a performance comparison analysis of YOLO v2, Tiny YOLO v2, and the latest YOLO v5 among deep learning-based object detection algorithms was performed to derive results. In this paper, performance comparison was conducted by forming learning data as an example of 'donut' in a bakery store, and the performance result of YOLO v5 was the highest at 96.9% of mAP. Therefore, YOLO v5 was selected as the artificial intelligence object detection algorithm to be applied in this paper. As a result of performance analysis, when the optimal threshold was set for each donut, the precision and reproduction rate of all donuts exceeded 0.85, and the majority of donuts showed excellent recognition performance of 0.90 or more. We expect that the results of this paper will be helpful as the fundamental data for the development of an automatic payment system using AI self-service technology that is highly usable in the non-face-to-face era.
