졸참나무림의 식생구조와 생태적지 (Vegetation Structures and Ecological Niche of Quercus serrata Forests)

  • The aim of this study was to characterize the forest vegetation structure and site of Quercus serrata forest for ecological forest management and ecological niche. The results are as follows : The chemical properties of Q. serrata forest soil were 0.24% of total nitrogen, 8.27 of organic matter, 74ppm of available phosphorous, 1.64(me/100g) of Ca, 0.22(me/100g) of Mg, 0.74(me/100g) of K and 9.3(me/100g) of cation exchangeable capacity. The dominant species in Quercus serrata forest were Quercus serrata, Quercus acutissima, Quercus variabilis, Quercus mongolica, Styrax obassia, Fraxinus rhynchophylla and Styrax japonica. DBH analysis showed that Quercus serrata seems to remain as a dominant species for the present because they had random distribution based on few of big individuality, many of small and middle individuality. But the Q. serrata community is competing with Q. mongolica and F. rhynchophylla, whose density of small individuality has increased. With the classification of TWINSPAN, Q. serrata forest was classified three groups, such as Q. serrata-Acer mono, Q. serrata, Q. serrata-Q. acutissima communities. The results of the correlation analysis of Q. serrata major communities and environment factors are as follows; Q. serrata-A. mono community was found relatively in high elevated and eastern and northern area that has relatively high percentage organic matter. Also Q. serrata community was found in high elevated and eastern and northern area that has high percentage organic matter. Q. serrata-Q. acutissima community was found in low elevated and southern and western area that has low percentage organic matter.

  • Effects of habitat and substrate quality on decomposition rate of litters of Larix kaempferi and Quercus serrata were estimated in Kwangnung forest. The amount of organic matter under the canopy of Quercus serrata stand was higher than that under the canopy of Larix kaempferi. The loss constant of litters in the Larix kaempferi stand was higher than that in the Quercus serrata stand.

여름철 참나무속의 이소프렌 배출속도 비교에 관한 연구 (A Comparison Study on Isoprene Emission Rates from Oak Trees in Summer)

  • In order to compare the NVOC (Natural Volatile Organic Compound) emission rates from oak trees, the emission rates of isoprene were quantitatively measured in situ based on tree species and region. As a result, the emission rates from Quercus serrata T. were found to be 1000 times greate. than those from Quercus acutissima C. However, the emission rates at the Chili and Gumsung mountain sites did not show any significant differences in summer. Cuvette tests using four different oak species also supported that there was a tremendous difference in emission rates between Quercus serrata T. and Quercus acutissima C. It was found that the emission rates from the trees were highest on the order of Quercus serrata T., Quercus aliena B., Quercus acutissima C. and Quercus variabilis B.

참나무속 3종의 유식물 정착과 생장의 비교에 대한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on the Comparison of the Establishment and Growth of Seedlings among Three Oak Species)

  • The relationships between environmental factors and the establishment and growth of oak seelings were studied in the greenhouse. The early seedling performances of three oak species (Quercus mongolica, Quercus serrata, Quercus variabilis) were compared. Mean seed weight was the biggest in Q. variabilis, and the smallest in Q. serrata, and the germination rate was higher in Q. variabilis than in Q. mongolica and Q. serrata. The germination rate was significantly affected by seed weight class in Q. serrata, but not in Q. mongolica. Emergence of oak seedlings was similar in all three oak species, and especially the first leaf emergence increased about twenty days after germination. An experiment was designed using three environmental factors (light, soil moisture, fertilizer) to compare the response of the three oak species. Light and soil moisture significantly affected the seedling height growth of Q. variabilis, but the effect was marginal in Q. mongolica and Q. serrata. However, growth of seedling biomass was significant in all three oak species. In contrast, fertilizer did not affect seedling growth of any of the oak species. Q. variabilis is expected to grow well in large gaps because it is very sensitive and responds well to high light and high moisture conditions. Q. mongolica and Q. serrata are relatively tolerant to shade but may need gaps for the seelings to grow into saplings.

오대산국립공원 소금강 계곡부 식물군집구조 (Plant Community Structure of the Soguemgang Valley in Odaesan National Park)

  • This study was carried out to the structure of plant community, and ecological succession sere of forest ecosystem in Soguemgang Valley, Odaesan National Park. Fifteenth plots(size is $20m{\times}20m$) were set up and the results analyzed by DCA which is one of the ordination technique showed that the plant communities were divided into seven groups which area community I(Quercus variabilis-Pinus densiflora community), II(Pinus densiflora community), III(Pinus densiflora-Quercus variabilis community), IV(Pinus densiflora-Quercus serrata community), V(Quercus serrata community), VI(Pinus densiflora-Deciduous broad-leaved plant community), VII(Cornus controversa-Carpinus laxiflora community). Shannon diversity index per $400m^2$ was to 0.7777 to 1.1440 and the age of Pinus densiflora 86 years old, Quercus variabilis was ranged from 66 to 87 years old, Quercus serrata was ranged from 51 to 62 years old, Carpinus laxiflora was 94 years old. In 2013, the succession trend was predicted Pinus densiflora${\rightarrow}$Quercus variabilis, Quercus serrata ${\rightarrow}$Cornus controversa, Carpinus laxiflora. The ecological sucession progress has declined power of the Pinus densiflora and the increased power of the deciduous broad-leaved and Quercus spp. in Soguemgang Valley, Odaesan National Park. Quercus serrata and Quercus variabilis communities that judged Pinus densiflora were progressing by direction of landform. The southern slopes vegetation were progressing for Quercus variabilis, the northern slopes vegetation were progressing for Quercus serrata. In flat Valley, mainly native species of Cornus controversa, Carpinus laxiflora are predicted ecological succession for deciduous broad-leaved tree community.

계룡산국립공원(鷄龍山國立公園) 계곡부(溪谷部) 식생(植生)의 구조(構造)와 DCCA에 의한 식생(植生)과 환경(環境)과의 상관관계(相關關係) 분석(分析) (An Analysis of Vegetation Structure and Vegetation-Environment Relationships with DCCA in the Valley Part of Kyeryongsan national Park)

  • 본 연구는 계룡산의 동학사, 갑사, 신원사 지역의 계곡부 산림식생을 대상으로 1999년 8월에 50개소의 방형구를 설치하여 식생조사를 실시하였으며, TWINSPAN과 DCCA ordination을 이용하여 군락분류, 임분구조 특성 및 환경요인과의 상관관계를 분석하였다. 1. TWINSPAN에 의한 분류 결과는 서어나무군락, 굴참나무-졸참나무군락, 느티나무-풍게나무군락, 까치박달군락으로 구분되었다. 2. 계룡산 계곡부 산림식생의 중요치를 각 군락별로 살펴보면 서어나무군락에서 중요치가 높은 종은 서어나무, 굴참나무, 졸참나무, 소나무, 때죽나무 등의 순으로, 굴참나무-졸참나무군락은 굴참나무, 졸참나무, 때죽나무, 밤나무, 굴피나무 등의 순으로 나타났다. 그리고 느티나무-풍게나무군락은 졸참나무, 밤나무, 비목나무, 느티나무, 때죽나무 등의 순으로 나타났으며 까치박달군락에서 중요치가 높은 종은 까치박달, 서어나무, 사람주나무, 층층나무, 느티나무 등의 순으로 나타났다. 3. DCCA ordination에 의한 4개의 각 군락과 환경요인과의 상관관계를 보면 서어나무군락은 다른 군락에 비하여 경사가 급하고 해발고가 비교적 낮은 지역에서 분포하고 있으며, 굴참나무-졸참나무군락은 해발고가 낮고 경사가 완만한 지역에서 분포하고 있다. 그리고 느티나무-풍게나무군락은 해발고가 가장 높고 경사가 비교적 완만한 지역에서 분포하고 있으며, 까치박달군락은 다소 해발고가 높고 경사가 중간인 지역에서 분포하고 있었다.

Morphological characteristics of leaves and trichomes in reciprocal hybrids of Quercus dentata and Q. serrata

  • The morphological characteristics of leaves, trichomes, and acorns in 8- to 11-year-old reciprocal hybrids of Quercus dentata and Q. serrata were investigated. The reciprocal hybrids had obovate to obovateelliptic leaves that were smaller than those of Q. dentata but similar to Q. serrata in their leaf size, obtuse leaf apex, narrow-tipped leaf base, and shape of small to intermediate-sized serrations. The ray length of stellate hairs was intermediate between those of the parents, and the hairs showed dense growth. Long single hairs are present among the stellate hairs on the abaxial side of the leaves. Therefore, the hybrids of Q. dentata and Q. serrata could be identified by the size and shape of leaves, shape of serrations, and type of leaf trichomes.

자연 건조된 굴참나무와 느티나무 목재의 연소성(II) (Combustion Properties of the Quercus variabilis and Zelkova serrata Dried at Room Temperature (II))

  • 목재는 연소성이 높은 본질적인 결함을 가지고 있다. 본 연구의 목적은 자연 건조된 굴참나무와 느티나무의 연소성질을 시험하였다. 열방출율과 CO/$CO_2$ 발생과 연기차폐와 같은 연기지수를 콘칼로리미터(ISO 5660-1)를 이용하여 측정하였다. $50kW/m^2$의 외부 열유속하에서 굴참나무의 총 방출열량, THR ($140.2MJ/m^2$)은 느티나무의 THR ($85.7MJ/m^2$) 과 비교하여 높게 나타났다. 그리고 굴참나무의 총 연기발생량, $TSP3.50m^2$는 느티나무의 $TSP0.65m^2$에 비하여 높게 나타났다. 이들 결과는 시험목의 체적밀도에 의존함을 보여준다. CO/$CO_2$ 발생비는 굴참나무와 느티나무가 각각 0.053, 0.043을 나타내었다. 또한 느티나무가 굴참나무에 비해 숯생성으로 인한 증대된 연소 억제성을 보여주었다.

참나무 수엽의 사료가치 비교 연구 (A Comparative Study on the Nutritive Value of Oak Browse)

  • Browse from Quercus aliena Blume, Quercus mongolica Fisch.. Quercus serrata Thunb., Quercus acutissima Carruth., Quercus variabilies Blume, and Quercus dentata Thunb. were analyzed for crude protein (CP). crude fiber(CF). neutral detergent fiber(NDF). acid detergent fiber(ADF). cellulose. lignin, in vitro dry matter digestibility(DMD), and tannin acid equivalents(TAE). According to the chemical composition and DMD. the total digestible nutrients(TDN). digestible energy(DE), and metabolizable energy(ME) were estimated. Oak browse samples were collected from May through October from 1990 to 1992 in Mt. Kyeryong. Browse from Quercus aliena, Quercus acutissima, and Quercus serrata contained higher levels of CP, DMD. TDN, DE. and ME. but lower levels of CF, NDF. ADF, and TAE as compared with other oak browse. Differences among seasons and years in the concentration of CP. NDF, and organic matter digestibility(0MD) were significantly appeared in all oak browse(P<0.05). The order of preference ratings of oak browse were Quercus aliena ) Quercus acutissima ) Quercus serrata ) Quercus mongollca ) Quercus variabilies ) Quercus dentata. As the results of this study, it could be considered that Quercus aliena and Quercus acutisslma were more valuable browse source than others.

망개나무자생지의 식생특성과 활력도 분석 (Synecological Characteristics and Vitality Analysis of the Berchemia berchemiaefolia Habitat)

  • This study was carried out to investigate vegetation and tree vitality of Berchemia berchemiaefolia habitat to recommend basic information for synecological characteristics. Totally 9 vegetation data were collected and analyzed. And one plant community (Quercus serrata-Berchemia berchemiaefolia community) including 43 families 66genera 72 species 8 varieties and 3 forma was differentiated. Quercus serrata-Berchemia berchemiaefolia community was subdivided into Typical subunit and Quercus mongolica subunit. Species showing the higer r-NCD value in the plant community were Berchemia berchemiaefolia, Quercus serrata, Lindera obtusiloba, Fraxinus rhynchophylla, Acer pseudo-sieboldianum, Corylus heterophylla var. thunbergii. In tree vitality result, Berchemia berchemiaefolia population containing 35 individual was estimated 3 monitoring categories; 1) General 2) Principal 3) Absolute. These categories frequencies arranged by the order General Monitoring (85.7%; 30 individual), Principal Monitoring (11.4%; 4 individual) and Absolute Monitoring (2.9%; 1 individual).
