Purpose: This study was designed to construct a predictive model to explain quality of life of stomach cancer patients with gastrectomy. Methods: Data were collected from July 10 to August 30, 2013 through survey using self-reported questionnaires. A total of 218 patients with gastrectomy was recruited from three different hospitals. Outcome variables were exogenous ones (self efficacy and social support) and endogenous ones (depression, perceived health status, self care behavior, and quality of life). Results: Goodness-of-fit of the hypothetical model was $x^2=143.37$, RMSEA=.07 CFI=.95, TLI=.93 SRMR=.05. Self care behavior, depression and perceived health status had significant direct effects on quality of life. Self efficacy and social support were affected quality of life indirectly. These variables explained 67.9% of total variance of quality of life, and self-care behavior was the most influential factor for quality of life. Conclusion: The findings of this study suggested that self care behavior must be considered as an intervention strategy to improve quality of life. Also a development of a specific intervention program to promote self efficacy and control depression for patients with gastrectomy is essential to facilitate their self care behaviors.
Purpose: This study was conducted to investigate the degree of dry mouth and oral health-related quality of life and to identify factors contributing to oral health-related quality of life for community-dwelling elders. Methods: A descriptive correlational study design was used. Participants were 156 older adults from two senior welfare centers. Data were collected on February 21, 22 and 29, 30, 2009 using structured questionnaires. Enter type multiple regression analysis was used to identify factors influencing oral health-related quality of life according to general and oral health characteristics. Results: There were significant differences in oral health-related quality of life according to living arrangement, insurance, smoking, number of natural teeth, and denture type. The oral health-related quality of life had significant correlations with the number of chronic disease, number of medications, and dry mouth. Factors influencing oral health-related quality of life for community-dwelling older adults were dry mouth, number of chronic disease, and medical aid, which explained about 47.9% of total variance. Conclusion: These results indicate that in order to promote oral health-related quality of life for older adults, prevention or management of chronic diseases as well as oral health and dry mouth are needed for this population, and especially economically poor elders.

The stigma scale, self-esteem scale, and World Health Organization's quality of life instrument were used. Data were collected through self-reported questionnaires from July to August, 2010 and analyzed by t-test, ANOVA, Ducan's multiple range test, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and stepwise multiple regression by SAS. Results: The level of perceived stigma was 3.93, self-esteem was 26.2, quality of life was 2.78. Self-esteem was positively associated with quality of life. Through the multiple regression, it was found that self-esteem and job were factors influencing of quality of life with 43% of predictability. Purpose: The purposes of this study were to investigate the relationship between stress, spirituality and quality of life and verify the effect of mediating spirituality in the relationship between stress and quality of life among nursing students. Methods: A total of 173 fourth-year nursing students who have experienced clinical practice participated in this study. Data were collected using structured questionnaires to measure the stress, spirituality and quality of life in nursing students from November 9 to December 9 in 2020. Data analysis was conducted using independent t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and mediated regression analysis of Baron and Kenny. Results: The results show that stress were negatively correlated with quality of life (r=-.49, p<.001) and spirituality (r=-.40, p<.001). In addition, spirituality was positively correlated with quality of life (r=.56, p<.001) and had a partial mediation effect on the relationship between stress and quality of life. Conclusion: The results of this study indicate that in order to reduce stress and improve the quality of life of nursing students, it is necessary to actively apply a spirituality promotion program recognizing and developing nursing student's spirituality.

Methods: Data were collected from 180 nursing students between 11 October and 26 October 2018 from a college in A city. A total of 157 questionnaires were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-tests, a one-way ANOVA, Pearson correlation, and stepwise multiple regression. Results: The findings show that perceived stress had a significant negative correlation with quality of life (r=-.73, p<.001). However, self-compassion showed a significant positive correlation with quality of life (r=.66, p<.001). The factors influencing quality of life included perceived stress, self-compassion, state of health, and satisfaction with school life, with perceived stress being the most influential factor (β=-.42), followed by self-compassion (β=.30), which together had an explanatory power of 64.0%. Moreover, there was a mediating effect of self-compassion in the relationship between perceived stress and quality of life. Objectives: Because of the changing life style of Koreans, we have witnessed an increase of patients with back pain. The development of medical knowledge and technology has resulted in more numerous and better treatment methods. However, the outcomes of diverse treatments have been examined by using a few medicine-oriented measures like pain. This study aims at identifying the factors that influence the outcomes of back pain treatments by using two outcome measures (e.g., quality of life and pain). Methods: We used the questionnaire survey method for data collection. The questionnaires contained 5 categories (treatment methods, clinical conditions, exercise, quality of life and, socio-demographic characteristics). We interviewed 188 back pain patients. We used the regression analysis method to predict the quality of life or pain. Results: Surgery showed a statistically significant effect on the quality of life as well as pain. The illness period, age and exercise were turned out to be significant factors for both of the dependent variables. The social class and surgery methods showed a statistically significant effect solely on the quality of life. Conclusions: In choosing the surgical methods, doctors need to provide detailed explanations on the quality of life outcomes for each of the surgical methods to the patients.

Descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Scheffé test, and Pearson's correlation coefficient were used for analysis. The mediating effect was assessed by Baron and Kenny's three-step hierarchical regression analysis and bootstrapping methods. Results: There were significant relationships between work-life balance and work-life balance organizational culture (r=.45, p<.001), work-life balance and quality of nursing service (r=.18, p=.005), and work-life balance organizational culture and quality of nursing service (r=.34, p<.001). Also, work-life balance organizational culture (β=.32, p<.001) showed a total mediating effect on the relationship between work-life balance and quality of nursing service.
