  • The purposes of this study was to identify the level of satisfaction with the food quality in a company cafeteria located in Daejon. 400 people were given questionnaires, of which 341 questionnaires were returned for analysis (90.25% response rate). Our results show, 85.63% of customers eat at the cafeteria more than 3~4 times per week. 48.68% of people surveyed chose their meal based on the proximity when they enter the cafeteria. 39.59% said the most important factor for eating at the cafeteria was taste. 33.72% said it was quality. The type of food that was leftover the most was 'Guk' (soup). 52.20% said 'Guk' was leftover due to the awful taste. Food quality (34.60%) and taste (34.02%) required the most improvement according to those surveyed. Additionally, we divided food quality into 3 factors: 'sanitation & service', 'food', and 'menu composition'. People who marked down 'no other place to eat' was the reason they ate at the cafeteria also had the lowest satisfaction scores across all items (p<0.001). Improving the 'Guk' and 'meat' was rated as the most important criteria to improve satisfaction with leftover food. Unsurprisingly, the 'taste' of leftover food had the lowest satisfaction scores. Those who had the lowest quality satisfaction scores also wanted to improve 'taste', 'quality' and 'sanitation' the most (p<0.001). Based on these findings, the foodservice manager can increase the overall satisfaction with the cafeteria food by focusing on improving the taste, quality and sanitation of the food that it serves.

  • This paper presents a tool called Quality-Cost optimization system (QCOS), which integrates Multi-Objective Genetic Algorithm (MOGA) and Quality Function Deployment (QFD), for tradeoff between quality and cost of the unitized metal curtain-wall unit. A construction owner as the external customer pursues to maximize the quality of the curtain-wall unit. However, the contractor as the internal customer pursues to minimize the cost involved in designing, manufacturing and installing the curtain-wall unit. It is crucial for project manager to find the tradeoff point which satisfies the conflicting interests pursued by the both parties. The system would be beneficial to establish a quality plan satisfying the both parties. Survey questionnaires were administered to the construction owner who has an experience of curtain-wall project, the architects who are the independent assessor, and the contractors who were involved in curtain-wall design and installation. The Customer Requirements (CRs) and their importance weights, the relationship between CRs and Technical Attributes (TAs) consisting of a curtain-wall unit, and the cost ratios of each components consisting curtain-wall unit are obtained from the three groups mentioned previously. The data obtained from the surveys were used as the QFD input to compute the Owner Satisfaction (OS) and Contractor Satisfaction (CS). MOGA is applied to optimize resource allocation under limited budget when multi-objectives, OS and CS, are pursued at the same time. The deterministic multi-objective optimization method using MOGA and QFD is extended to stochastic model to better deal with the uncertainties of QFD input and the variability of QFD output. A case study demonstrates the system and verifies the system conformance.

This study is to focus on the related influence factors of the optician's marketing. Aiming to improve the relationship of the manager and the manager and the clients, this study tried to find out the influences of the marketing. We defined quality of relation as three element, trust, satisfaction, absorption. We investigated how it influenced optician's characters, goods, service, price, physical convenience and communication to the quality of relation. Moreover, we investigated how it influenced optician characters like knowledge information, good impression, contact and relation marketing of dissatisfaction solution, also quality of relation could or not influence about repurchase intension and Big Mouth marketing. Optician's characters affect on affirmative effect to trust and absorption, but little affirmative effect to satisfaction. Since optician's characters are trust and absorption rather than satisfaction influence, they actively should improve customer-oriented variety of goods, service, physical convenience, communication. As price and communication structure of optician was formed so not modernized, we realized these have not influenced their trust, satisfaction, absorption to customer. Optician's characters influenced more affirmative effect to satisfaction than thrust and absorption. quality of relations mostly provided affirmative effect to the result of relation. The opticians should make efforts to influence on customer satisfied with goods and service, also to have trust and absorption for customer, should maintain good partnership with customer.
