Research Design, Data and Methodology: There are four research designs to achieve the research objectives. We analyzed Big Data for 3 months on Social Network Services (SNS). A questionnaire survey conducted on 219 patients visiting the GMC. Surveys of 20 employees of the GMC applied. The feasibility to expand the GMC ward measured through Focus Group Interview by 12 internal and external experts. Data analysis methods derived from various surveys applied with data mining technique, frequency analysis, and Importance-Performance Analysis methods, and IBM SPSS statistical package program applied for data processing. Results: In the result of the big data analysis, the GMC's recognition on SNS is high. 95.9% of the residents and 100.0% of the employees required the need for the complex ward extension. In the analysis of expert opinion, in the future functions of GMC, specialized care (△3.3) and public medicine (△1.4) increased significantly. • Recently, the public design plays a role in improving the residents' quality of life and activating the local economy as an axis of the regional development. However, during the development process led by the local government, the public space has been changed to a place where only the function is emphasized without considering the local history, culture, and life. Since the opinions of the regional residents are not reflected, the public place lacks public benefits and has difficulties in continuous improvement and development. Here, we studied on the participation of residents in public design. Firstly, we discussed public design that residents can participate voluntarily and actively as users, managers, and beneficiaries. Secondly, it is necessary for the residents, who are not experts in the public design, to have easily understandable and well tractable communication media which facilitate communications with a group of the design experts and the public service personnel. We explained the types and specialities of the communication media. Thirdly, it is necessary for the residents to contribute much to the local development by active participation in the sustainable and consistent public design through using the easily accessible communication media.

  • Purpose: Reducing energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions is a primary concern throughout the world, and the building sector is a particularly efficient area for making these reductions. In South Korea, the government has recently enacted policies for "Green Growth" that, among other things, enforce regulations in the building certification rating system (BCRS) and reorganize existing incentive systems. Method: In this study, we examined regulations and incentive systems used in the United Kingdom, Germany, and the United States that encourage the use of energy efficient technologies in construction and compared these policies to those used in South Korea. We also disseminated surveys to experts in the fields of architecture, planning and design, and engineering to better understand their knowledge and perception of the BCRS and its incentive systems. Additionally, we sought their recommendations for improving these incentive systems. Result: Based on our comparative case studies of regulations and incentives in other countries, alongside recommendations from experts in South Korea, we concluded that incentive systems in South Korea are limited and require improvement. We make recommendations for strengthening existing regulations and incentives and for implementing new incentive programs.

  • While artificial intelligence is rapidly replacing human jobs, the art field where human creativity is important is considered an exception. There are currently several AI mastering services in the field of mastering music, a profession at the border between art and technology. In general, the quality of AI mastering is considered to be inferior to the work of a human professional mastering engineer. In this paper, acoustic analysis, listening experiments, and expert interviews were conducted to compare AI and human experts. In the acoustic analysis, In the analysis of audio, there was no significant difference between the results of professional mastering engineers and the results of artificial intelligence. In the listening experiment, the non-musicians could not distinguish between the sound quality of the professional mastering engineer's work and the artificial intelligence work. The group of musicians showed a preference for a specific sound source, but the preference for a specific mastering did not appear significantly. In an expert interview, In expert interviews, respondents answered that there was no significant difference in quality between the two mastering services, and the biggest difference was the communication method between the mastering service provider and the user. In addition, as data increases, it is expected that artificial intelligence mastering will achieve rapid quality improvement and further improvement in communication.

  • Postal code is essential for improving efficiency of mail sorting. The Korean postal code, which is introduced in 1970 and had been reformed two times, has controversial issues because of changed postal environments such as modification of administrative districts and logistical transformation into a hub-and-spokes structure. In this study, we propose several improvement and evaluation methods in order to prepare an alternative plan of postal code system. After performing status analysis, we define the customers of postal code and analyze the requirements of them. The 6 proposed new postal code systems are based on each customer groups’ requirements. To evaluate the new systems, we develop several quantitative and qualitative indexes and make a survey of postal experts. Besides, we evaluate the influence of them to the postal environments including delivery sequence sorting process.

  • Purpose: Expecting a new system of nursing security for elderly in operation in 2007, a substantial expansion of nursing facilities for elderly and quality management of those facilities are imperative now. Therefore. specific quality management measures or schemes which could be used for the operation of small-scale nursing homes are in urgent need. The purpose of this study was to develop a Quality Management Index(QMI) to guide Nursing Home management. Method: This study developed a QMI for small-scale nursing homes, which focused on quality management in structural dimensions such as environment, staffs, local community network, atmosphere, and quality management in process dimensions such as nursing, communication, resident satisfaction. The QMI developed in this study is based on extensive review of literature and the actual experiences of nursing home operation. It consists of 7 dimensions, 39 components and 148 indexes, which have been verified by three times validity tests of experts group. Then the QMI was used to evaluate the quality management levels of nursing homes in Korea. Result: In sum, after analyzing all nursing homes in Korea operated by nurses, this study found that there were significant differences of quality management level among facilities in several dimensions such as environment, staffs, local community connections, communication. In dimensions such as nursing, atmosphere, resident satisfaction, however, little differences of quality management level among facilities were reported. It is considered that this result has to do with several factors like the size of facilities, operation expenses, operation forms, the disposition of professional human resources, and philosophy and management policy of the owners. As far as generalization is concerned, however, it needs to be noted here that the sample size for this study is not statistically big enough to generalize the results. Conclusion: Having Developed a QMI for small-scale nursing home with 7 dimensions, 39 components and 148 indexes, this study is expected to be used in developing more elaborated quality evaluation tools for nursing homes, and also function as a practical guide of quality management for those who are opening and managing nursing homes. I hope this quality index could lead to further development of a standardized quality management index, and eventually contribute to quality improvement of nursing homes.
