  • In this paper, a cylindrical cavity resonator oscillator with high Q factor is designed and fabricated to improve the phase noise characteristic. A cavity resonator is coupled to oscillating circuit using aperture hole. Measured results show that the cylindrical cavity resonator oscillator (CRO) for Ku-band has less phase noise than the dielectric resonator oscillator (DRO) with the same oscillating circuit. It has output power of +3.92 dBm at the center frequency 13.4015250 GHz and phase noise of -109 dBc/Hz at 100 kHz offset.

  • An adaptive beam forming system using a phased array antenna improves communication quality by beam forming adaptively to a communication environment having an interference signal. For adaptive beam forming, a good combination of the phases of the excited signals to each radiating element of the phased array antenna should be calculated. In this paper, improved particle swarm optimization algorithm that adds a re-spreading procedure according to particle density was proposed to increase the probability of good phase shift combination output.

  • This paper presents the Performance of PV(Photovoltaic) system. the design of MPPT and the battery characteristic. The output power of PV depends on the environmental factors such as insolation and cell temperature. It is proposed that the MPPT is based on an simple power control algorithm. Furthermore the converter has to maintain the optimum duty ratio. A switching strategy of converter for battery may Protect against excessive discharge and overcharge. This paper includes discussion on system reliability power quality and effects of the randomness of the wind and the solar radiation on system design.

  • The purpose of this paper is to establish the standard method of evaluation English-to-Korean MT systems We focus on test suites, evaluation procedure and evaluation results. Four computer programs on the market are tested on a test suite consisting of 1,501 sentence, The quality of translation and the capacity of MT system are the key points for evaluation . The sentences in the suite are classified according to the grammatical properties they reveal. The classificatory scheme has the structure of a directory: each sentence belongs to a subclass, which belongs to a major class,. We place the sentences in the test suite on a scale of difficulty (hard ordinary easy) and each output sentence is graded on a scale of four accuracy levels. We also test the programs with respect to their speed.

  • This study is about vector controlled inverter for high quality elevator drive that is to improve the settling accuracy of elevator car and passenger's comfort in commercial buildings. In this study, an instantaneous space vector control type inverter was used to reduce the torque ripple ant to improve the velocity follow-up. This method calculates Instantaneous actual output torque and flux of induction motor by voltage and current, then compares them with a reference values by a speed regulator. The outputs of comparators select a switching mode, for an optimal voltage vector. Also, this study used IGBT (Insulated Gate Bipolar-Transistor), a high speed switching element, to reduce sound noise level, and DSP (Digital Signal Processor) was used to improve the reliability of the control circuit by fully digitalization.

  • Electric double layer capacitor (EDLC) is used to overcome power quality problem caused by output power oscillation of wind turbines. A novel EDLC application for permanent magnet synchronous generator type wind power generation system is proposed in this paper. The structure of the proposed system is cost-effective and efficient. The proposed system including an EDLC is modeled and analyzed by PSCAD/EMTDC. The simulation results show the effectiveness and major features of the proposed system.

  • Stable and sustainable power supply means maintaining a certain level of power quality and service while securing energy resource and resolving environmental issues. Distributed generation (DG) has become an essential and indispensable element from environmental and energy security perspectives. It is known that voltage violation is the most important constraint for load variation and the maximum allowable DG. In distribution system, sending voltage from distribution substation is regulated by ULTC (Under Load Tap Changer) designed to maintain a predetermined voltage level. ULTC is controlled by LDC (Line Drop Compensation) method compensating line voltage drop for a varying load, and the sending voltage of ULTC calls for LDC parameters. The consequence is that the feasible LDC parameters considering variation of load and DG output are necessary. In this paper, we design each LDC parameters determining the sending voltage that can satisfy voltage level, decrease ULTC tap movement numbers, or increase DG introduction. Moreover, the maximum installable DG capacity based on each LDC parameters is estimated.

  • The plasma display panel with the electrode structure of new discharge AND gate was developed and the driving system for experiment was developed. And discharge AND gate operation was verified. Discharge AND gate operated by the operation speed of 8$mutextrm{s}$ and the operation margin of 20V. It was known to be able to control the discharge of the adjoining scan electrode accurately. Because this method uses the DC discharge, the control of the discharge can be facilitated compared with conventional discharge AND gate. Moreover, because the imput discharge and the output discharge of AND gate are separate, the display discharge can be prevented from passing AND gate. Therefore, it is possible to apply to the large screen plasma display. And the decrease of contrast ratio does not occur because the scanning electrical discharge does not influence the picture quality.

A New Error Diffusion Coefficients Reducing Correlation Pattern (상관패턴을 감소시키는 새로운 오차확산계수)

  • Error diffusion is excellent for reproducing grey-scale images to binary images. The output of conventional error diffusion produces correlated pattern. In this paper, a new error diffusion coefficient set is proposed to reduce correlated pattern and to enhance edge through frequency analysis of the error diffusion coefficients. The error diffusion coefficients of the previous line are designed to enhance the edge. The error diffusion coefficient of the previous pixel of the current pixel is selected to symmeterize the coefficient set. Because the proposed coefficient-set consists of 1 and 2, a few computations are required. As results of experiments, it is shown that the binary image using the proposed coefficients have better quality than conventional ones.
