The purpose of this study is to investigate the knowledge creating pattern of technology catching-up and pioneering phase in the new product development process. This paper first reviews the knowledge conversion, absorptive capability, learning orientation and the trigger of learning. The paper then presents the integrative model of knowledge creating. Based on the integrative model, in-depth case analysis was conducted on the new product development process in Phicom. As a result, the paper discuss that the pattern of absorptive capability building, knowledge conversion and knowledge transfer is different from technology catching-up and pioneering phase. Finally, the implications and limitations of the study are discussed.

This study aims at revealing utilization planning by surveying and analyzing unused classrooms of primary schools' facilities between Japan and Korean. Focused on high and multi-functionization, rather qualitative aspect than quantitative. Various and positive utilization planning of unused classrooms are needed. In Japan, unused classrooms of primary schools have already appeared in urban and rural area together. However it has been presented the effective utilization of these facilities even though many schools have tried using those. With these circumstances, Educational Authorities in Japan have researched the utilization methods of these facilities to use as supporting facilities for school education, management and opening to regional communities. Also, they are promoting to refer each school to a guide handbook for unused classrooms. Therefore, this study with some cases between Japan and Korean should be valuable data for effective use and planning of our cases.

The purpose of this study is to provide the guidelines for the planning and design of officetels, meeting the requirements of life in one-person household which is a new type in housing market. Literature survey is used as a research method. We analyzed the needs of officetel residents, by reviewing researches and by examining internet homepages and catalogs of 20 officetels sold since 2000. Case study analysis method is used as a qualitative analysis. The major findings of this study are as follows; 1) In dwelling unit space, it lacks the independence of working space and the privacy of living space. Therefore, the provision of various unit plans, such as 2-bay plan, unit with mezzanine floor or movable walls, layout of kitchen and dining area in window side, is proposed. 2) In communal space, it lacks the consideration of natural environments and the systematic maintenance. Therefore, the introduction of communal workshop and conference rooms and of various types of garden space, is proposed.

An experimental study is presented for a flow field in a two dimensional wavy channels by PIV. This flow has two major applications such as a blood flow simulation and the enhancement of heat transfer in a heat exchanger. While the numerical flow visualization results have been limited to the fully developed cases, existing experimental results of this flow were simple qualitative ones by smoke or dye streak test. Therefore, the main purpose of this study is to produce quantitative flow data for fully developed and developing flow regimes by the Correlation Based Correction PIV (CBC PIV) and to conjecture the analogy between flow characteristics and heat transfer enhancement with low pumping power. Another purpose of this paper is to examine the onset position of the transition and the global mixing, which results in transfer enhancement. PIV results on the Fully developed and developing flow in a wavy channel at Re=500, 1000 and 2000 are obtained. for the case Reynolds Number equals 500, the PIV results are compared with the finite difference numerical solution.

BIM technology accomplished quantitative development being utilized in various disciplines. However, it is necessary to develop environment and requirement for qualitative improvement of BIM-based project in current transitional period of adopting BIM. The purpose of this study is to develop and apply of quality control requirement for improving the quality of BIM-based architectural design through case study. In particular, by focusing on BIM quality control and its relevant subjects, the minimum standards for BIM quality management are suggested. Also, BIM template is suggested to support the effective application of BIM-based architectural design.

This study is to investigate dissatisfaction behavior of customers who purchase products on the Internet shopping mall and to find customers' dissatisfaction behavior types for effectively responding to that. Managing dissatisfaction behaviors are related to the customer satisfaction. To conduct this study, Call Center data was collected and analysed by qualitative method. The results showed that dissatisfaction of product quality and disappointment have different effects on post--purchase behaviors. Customers who feel more dissatisfaction with product quality showed the aggressive response such as exchange, refund, while customers who feel disappointment are likely to switch the shopping mall or to cancel the order. These results of customers' dissatisfaction behaviors indicate that company has to manage both product quality and the customer's experience dimension.

This study was intended to testify nature of mother and daughter-in-laws relation in the low class. In was assumed that it's relationship would be 'neglect' or 'interdependent' for their economic hardship by theoretical review. This study relies onthe qualitative research method in order to approach the most inside of the very complicate and delicate human relationship such as the mother and daughter-in-laws one. The findings showed that mother anddaughter-in-laws relation in low class was 'neglect' or 'conflicting' It was because they live separately and the daughter-in-law is not able to meet the demand from her mother-in-law due to her own economic hardship.

Two important concepts in VE are "function" and "cost." Cost can be expressed quantitatively. Unlike cost, the function can only be expressed qualitatively. Thus, to accurately evaluate the performance in VE analysis, it is required that the functional aspect should be considered a qualitative one. This study suggests a procedure of function oriented evaluation which can evaluate function enhancement of a VE proposal more logically and objectively. To conduct this study, problems were induced via case analysis, and solutions were found. In addition, the existing simple evaluation procedures were corrected, and a function enhancement evaluation procedure via function classification was suggested. For function classification, the use of the concepts, which were "intended function" and "additionally obtained function," was suggested. Function oriented evaluation procedure to VE proposals which is suggested in this study is expected to be a great help in treating valuable functions through VE job plan.

Purpose: This study aims to understand the potential of destinations, accessibility and accommodation services of Vietnam and India for the purpose of cooperation in tourism development. Research design, data and methodology: The data was mainly based on Tourism statistics at a glance of India Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, and Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam between the two countries. The qualitative research was supported by a case study methodology. Documentary sources were used as collection instruments, which allowed the characterisation of Vietnam - India as well as interviews applied within a focus group, supported by a semi-structured script. Result: The results of the study indicate that Vietnam - India understand the importance of cooperation to obtain synergies that ensure the development of tourism; Government of two countries recognize and identify a set of benefits associated with cooperation and have a collective awareness of some of the difficulties associated with it, but which do not necessarily prevent their willingness to cooperate. Conclusion: The strength of tourism development between the two countries is great, in which the relationship between "attractive force - propulsive force" is not commensurate with the tourism potential of Vietnam - India.

The purpose of this study was to explore procedures and modalities on collaborative visualization processing of text information for developing e-Learning contents. In order to investigate, two research questions were explored: 1) what are procedures on collaborative visualization processing of text information, 2) what kinds of patterns and modalities can be found in each procedure of collaborative visualization of text information. This research method was employed a qualitative research approaches by means of grounded theory. As a result of this research, collaborative visualization processing of text information were emerged six steps: identifying text, analyzing text, exploring visual clues, creating visuals, discussing visuals, elaborating visuals, and creating visuals. Collaborative visualization processing of text information came out the characteristic of systemic and systematic system like spiral sequencing. Also, another result of this study, modalities in collaborative visualization processing of text information was divided two dimensions: individual processing by internal representation, social processing by external representation. This case study suggested that collaborative visualization strategy has full possibility of providing ideal methods for sharing cognitive system or thinking system as using human visual intelligence.
