The wireless communication based on LDPC and adaptive spatial-subcarrier coded modulation using MQAM for orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) wireless transmission by using instantaneous channel state information and employing multiple antennas at both the transmitter and the receiver. Adaptive coded modulation is a promising idea for bandwidth-efficient transmission on time-varying, narrowband wireless channels. On power limited Additive White Gaussian Noise (AWGN) channels, low density parity check (LDPC) codes are a class of error control codes which have demonstrated impressive error correcting qualities, under some conditions performing even better than turbo codes. The paper demonstrates OFDM with LDPC and adaptive modulation applied to Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) system. An optimization algorithm to obtain a bit and power allocation for each subcarrier assuming instantaneous channel knowledge is used. The experimental results are shown the potential of our proposed system.

In this study, a method of error compensation for channel gain imbalance, phase imbalance and local oscillator leakage in the modulator of frequency direct conversion is suggested. The compensation of channel imbalance can be carried out by using the received power after transmitting test signal. By applying this method, the phase imbalance conversion with frequency can be easily compensated since this method is rarely affected by the transmission channel. It is confirmed that the algorithm proposed in this study(iteration coefficient=11) converges faster than conventional algorithm(iteration coefficient=43). From the numerical results, the DC-offset, channel gain, phase imbalance compensation coefficient and iteration number converges into($f_1$=0.0199999, $f_2$=-0.050001, $C_{22}$=0.9133, $C_{12}$=-0.0524, N=13) when the local oscillator leakage is not considered. However, it converges into($f_1$=-0.02, $f_2$=-2.2476, $C_{22}$=0.9133, $C_{12}$=-0.0524, N=16) when the local oscillator leakage is considered.

Cable modems typically are implemented by a forward error correction(FEC) scheme. The ITU-T Recommendation J-38 Annex B specifies using 64- and 256- quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM) and extended RS coding scheme. In implementing the cable modem, there are some problems to fabricate and fitting on FPGA chip. First, many clocks are needed in implementing cable modem because of different code rate and different modulation types. To reduce the number of clocks, we use the two memories, which are different clock speed for reading and writing data. Second, this system lost the bit-synchronization and frame-synchronization in decoder, the system recognize that all data is error. This paper solves the problems by using simple 5-stage registers and unique sync-word. Based on solutions for about problems, the cable modem is fabricated on FPGA chip name as Vertex II pro xc2vp30-5 by Xilinx, and we confirmed the effectiveness of the results.

In this paper, we have proposed a clock recovery algorithm of Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing/Quadrature Phase Shift Keying Modulation-Digital Microwave Radio(OFDM/QPSK-DMR) system using Band Limited-Pulse Shaping Filter(BL-PSF) and compared the clock phase error variance of OFDM/QPSK-DMR system with that of single carrier DMR system. The OFDM/QPSK-DMR system using windowing method requires training sequence or Cyclic Prefix (CP) to synchronize the clock phase of received signal. But transmit efficient is increased in our proposed DMR system because of no using redundant data such as training sequence or CP. The proposed clock recovery algorithm is simply realized in the OFDM/QPSK-DMR system using BL-PSF. The simulation results confirm that the proposed clock recovery algorithm has the same clock phase error variance performance in a single carrier DR system under Additive White Gaussian Noise(AWGN) environment.

A new technique, which can increase the channel bandwidth in an optical wireless orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) link based on a light emitting diode (LED), is proposed. The technique uses adaptive sampling to convert an OFDM signal to a sparse waveform. In compressive sensing (CS), a sparse signal that is sampled below the Nyquist/Shannon limit can be reconstructed successively with sufficient measurements. The data rate of the proposed CS-based visible light communication (VLC)-OFDM link increases from 30.72 Mb/s to 51.2 Mb/s showing an error vector magnitude (EVM) of 31 % at the quadrature phase shift keying (QPSK) symbol.

In this study, we proposed an asymmetric differential inductor to improve the linearity of differential power amplifiers. Considering the phase error between differential signals of the differential amplifier, the location of the center tap of the differential inductor was modified to minimize the error. As a result, the center tap was positioned asymmetrically inside the differential inductor. With the asymmetric differential inductor, the AM-to-AM and AM-to-PM distortions of the amplifier were suppressed. To confirm the feasibility of the inductor, we designed a 2.4 GHz differential CMOS PA for IEEE 802.11n WLAN applications with a 64-quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM), 9.6 dB peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR), and a bandwidth of 20 MHz. The designed power amplifier was fabricated using the 180-nm RF CMOS process. The measured maximum linear output power was 17 dBm, whereas EVM was 5%.

This paper presents implementation possibilities of digital IoT doorlock systems via VLC(Visible Light Communication)'s color grid. The color grid-based VLC modulation scheme which are discussed in this paper utilize the straightness of light and abundant frequency resources which are the properties of the light. Performance results in this paper are compared to that of conventional modulations with Bit Error Rate (BER) and Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR) simulations. With respect to a channel model, the proposed modulation schemes select the nearest Line Of Sight (LOS) except Non Line Of Sight (NLOS). Experiments in this paper show error rates of received symbols by changing power dB at a distance of 3m between Tx and Rx in an indoor environment. Through performance results and experiments, this paper demonstrates superiority of the proposed color grid-based modulation schemes.
If radio interference occurs or there is no navigation device, radio navigation of high-speed moving object becomes impossible. Nevertheless, if there are multiple ground stations and precise range measurement between the high-speed moving object and the ground station can be secured, it is possible to estimate the position of moving object. This paper proposes a position estimation method using high-precision TDOA measurement generated using TLM signal. In the proposed method, a common error of moving object is removed using the TDOA measurements. The measurements is generated based on TLM signal including SOQPSK PN symbol capable of precise timing synchronization. Therefore, since precise timing synchronization of the system has been performed, the timing error between ground stations has a very small value. This improved the position estimation performance by increasing the accuracy of the measured values. The proposed method is verified through software-based simulation, and the performance of estimated position satisfies the target performance.

The average bit error rate (HER) performance of a Gray coded arbitrary rectangular quadrature amplitude modulation (AR-QAM) signal with maximal ratio combining (MRC) diversity in an arbitrarily correlated Nakagami-m fading channel is derived and analyzed. The derived two types of general solutions are a simple closed-form and an integral form, depending on the types of the values (integer and non-integer) of the fading parameter. Using the derived equations in this paper, we analyzed the HER performances numerically based on the practical base station antenna configuration. The results show that MRC reception is a very effective scheme so far even though the combined signals are not independent each other because of the correlation values. The antenna height and separation of the MRC system relate to the correlation coefficient value between antennas, and go a long way with the diversity advantage. In particular, it is needed to be determined the antenna height that is carefully do for the diversity advantage because the correlation coefficient and the antenna height gain are contrary to each other from the aspect of the system performance. The expressions presented here can offer a convenient way to evaluate the exact HER performance of an arbitrary rectangular QAM signal with MRC diversity reception for various cases of practical interest on a correlated Nakagami fading channel.
In this paper, we derive the outage probability for M-ary phase shifting keying (MPSK) and M-ary quadrature amplitude modulation (MQAM) burst transmission (BT) of adaptive decode-and-forward (ADF) cooperative relay systems over quasi-static Rayleigh fading channels. Within a burst, there are pilot symbols and data symbols. Pilot symbols are used for channel estimation schemes and each relay node's transmission mode selection schemes. At first, we focus on ADF relay systems in which the probability density function (PDF) is derived on the basis of error events at relay nodes corresponding to channel estimation errors. Next, the average outage probability is derived as an approximate expression for an arbitrary link signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) for different modulation orders. Its accuracy is demonstrated by comparison with simulation results. Further, it is confirmed that BT-ADF relay systems with pilot symbol based channel estimation schemes enables to select correctly decoded relay nodes without additional signaling between relay nodes and the destination node, and it is verified that the ideal performance is achieved with small SNR loss.
