Quality of Service (QoS) Guarantees grant ways for service providers to establish service differentiation among subscribers. On the other hand, service subscribers are also assured the level of service they paid for. In addition, the efficient level of service quality can be selected according to the subscribers' needs thus ensuring efficient use of available bandwidth. While network utility optimization techniques assure certain QoS metrics, a number of situations exist where some QoS goals are not met. The optimality of the network parameters is not mandatory to guarantee specified QoS levels. This paper proposes a joint data rate and power control scheme that guarantees service contract QoS level to a subscriber using Goal Programming. In using goal programming, this paper focuses on finding the range of feasible solutions as opposed to solving for the optimal. In addition, in case no feasible solution is found, an acceptable compromised solution is solved.

멀티미디어 스트림 콘텐츠의 접근이 늘어남에 따라 웹 서비스가 매우 많이 사용되고 있다. 그러나, 웹 서비스는 자주 방문하는 사용자에게 매번 동일한 품질의 서비스를 제공하고 있지 않다. 따라서, 이 논문은 고객 등급 QoS에 접근하는 온톨로지를 설계한다. 이를 위해 사용자의 기여도에 따른 웹 서비스의 2가지 등급을 제공한다. 그리고, 본 논문은 이러한 QoS 프로파일과 SLA의 관계에 대해 UML 언어를 통해 기술한다. 본 논문의 가장 큰 의의는 고객 등급 QoS와 SLA, 그들 간의 관계를 지원하고, 이를 위한 온톨로지를 사용하는 것이다. 이것은 QoS와 SLA를 구성하는 온톨로지 기반 접근으로 웹 서비스의 의미적 분류를 가능하게 할 것이다.

IP QoS는 인터넷 트래픽의 폭증을 수익으로 연결시키기 위해 기존의 Best Effort Service의 한계를 극복하는 것이 필수이다. 차세대 통신망의 필수요건으로 IP QoS는 매우 중요하다. 그러나, IP망은 QoS 보다는 유연성과 확장성에 초점을 맞추어 발전해왔다. 따라서, IP망에 QoS를 적용하기 위해 기존 IP 기술에 여러가지 품질확보를 위한 조치가 필요하다. 접속품질과 전송품질을 기반으로 한 IP QoS(Quality of Service) 품질 메트릭스를 정립 한다면 통신품질 저해요인을 분석하여 객관적인 자료를 얻을 수 있다. 통신품질 수준을 파악하면 품질 취약지역 및 품질 저해요인을 분석할 수 있다. 효율적인 품질 메트릭스 정립은 문제점에 대한 품질개선으로 통화품질 향상을 통한 고객 만족도를 증진효과를 기대할 수 있다.

In this paper, for analysing the major factors giving the effect to the quality of HD level video on the multicasting service, we tried this test experiment on the College school network similar to the real service network environment. We measure the video quality distortion on the multicasting HD level video according to generating and increasing the broadcasting traffic on the situation that apply the QoS technique to the test network and not apply the QoS technique and then find out the threshold value of network factors giving the effect to the video quality distortion on the multicasting HD level video service. This paper can be used for guaranteeing the constant video quality and reducing the video quality distortion on the multicasting HD level video service.

본 논문은 광대역 통합망에서 오버레이를 이용하여 사용자 관점의 End-to-end QoS 지원 구조를 제안한다. 기존 광대역 통합망은 제어평면의 IMS에서 사용자평면에 존재하는 IP 전달망의 직접적인 트래픽제어와 자원예약을 수행하여 QoS를 제공한다. 그리고 사용자의 End-to-end QoS를 지원하기 위하여 전달망에서 확보한 QoS를 사용자에게 최대로 전송하고 품질 저하를 최소화하는 연구가 진행되고 있다. 하지만 이러한 기존 연구와 더불어 사용자가 요구하는 서비스 품질의 차별화, 사용자의 단말환경에 최적화된 컨텐츠의 제공과 같은 사용자 수준에서의 확장된 QoS 개념이 고려될 필요가 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서 제안하는 오버레이 서비스 네트워크 구조의 전송계층에서는 다양한 망환경에 가장 효율적인 전송 프로토콜을 사용하여 최대의 전송효율을 제공하는 프로토콜 최적화기능을 지원한다. 그리고 응용계층에서는 사용자 단말의 데이터 변환과정에서 발생하는 프로세싱지연을 네트워크로 분산시키고, 오버에이를 이용하여 사용자의 서비스수준과 응용서비스의 특징 및 단말환경에 적합한 형태로의 중간변환기능을 수행한다. 결과적으로 본 논문에서는 광대역 통합망에서 전송계층과 응용계층의 서비스 품질 제어 기능을 추가하여 사용자의 End-to-end QoS를 지원하는 오버레이 서비스 네트워크의 구조와 내부 컴포넌트 기능, 그리고 3GPP와의 연동을 통한 QoS 제공 방안을 제안한다.

WMSNs에서 에너지 효율적인 사용과 전체 네트워크 수명의 연장 이외에도 물체 추적과 데이터 수집과 같이 실시간 데이터 처리를 위해 QoS지원이 필수적이다. 본 논문에서는 싱크 노드까지의 거리, 노드의 에너지 잔량 및 링크 품질을 고려한 다중 경로 라우팅 알고리즘을 제안한다. 제안한 알고리즘은 높은 품질의 링크로 구성된 다중 경로 설정을 제공함으로써 에너지 소모가 집중되는 현상과 이로 인해 경로가 재구성되는 것을 방지한다. 또한 패킷의 특성을 고려하여 트래픽 패턴에 따라 서비스 품질 패턴과 서비스 품질 레벨을 지정하여 QoS 보장에 대한 서비스 차별화를 지원한다.

GUMF (Global User Management Framework) that is proposed in this research can be applied to next generation network such as BcN (Broadband convergence Network), it is QoS guaranteed security framework for user that can solve present Internet's security vulnerability. GUMF offers anonymity for user of service and use the user's real-name or ID for management of service and it is technology that can realize secure QoS. GUMF needs management framework, UMS (User Management System), VNC (Virtual Network Controller) etc. UMS consists of root UMS in country dimension and Local UMS in each site dimension. VNC is network security equipment including VPN, QoS and security functions etc., and it achieves the QoSS (Quality of Security Service) and CLS(Communication Level Switching) functions. GUMF can offer safety in bandwidth consumption attacks such as worm propagation and DoS/DDoS, IP spoofing attack, and current most attack such as abusing of private information because it can offer the different QoS guaranteed network according to user's grades. User's grades are divided by 4 levels from Level 0 to Level 3, and user's security service level is decided according to level of the private information. Level 3 users that offer bio-information can receive secure network service that privacy is guaranteed. Therefore, GUMF that is proposed in this research can offer profit model to ISP and NSP, and can be utilized by strategy for secure u-Korea realization.

모바일 웹 서비스 사용자가 증가함에 따라 품질을 고려한 모바일 웹 서비스 선택이 중요한 이슈로 여겨지고 있다. 품질계약은 서비스 품질의 수준을 명세한 웹 서비스 제공자와 웹 서비스 사용자간의 협약으로 웹 서비스 사용자는 품질계약을 통해 명세한 서비스 품질의 수준을 보장받을 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 품질을 고려하여 모바일 웹 서비스를 선택하기 위하여 중개자 기반의 프레임워크를 제안한다. 모바일 사용자들은 무선망에서 서비스 중개자를 통하여 웹 서비스를 요청할 수 있다. 서비스 중개자는 에이전트를 이용하여 웹 서비스 품질을 모니터링하며 서비스 품질계약에 위반사항이 발생하면 웹 서비스 제공자와 사용자에게 위반사항이 발생하였음을 통보함으로써 서비스 품질을 관리한다. 본 논문에서는 모니터링을 위하여 신뢰성, 응답시간, 그리고 가격 품질요소들을 사용하였으며 모바일 사용자들은 서비스 중개자를 통하여 품질 좋은 웹 서비스를 선택할 수 있다.

In this paper, we propose a multi-level content transmission mechanism for intelligent quality of service (QoS) in social networking services (SNSs). Because existing SNSs and related work send image content to a client with a single fixed mechanism, they cannot consistently support content accessibility according to different conditions of QoS factors such as network congestion and throughput. In the proposed image transmission mechanism, our communication middleware (CM) provides an SNS developer with three transmission modes so that an SNS server or client can dynamically change the quality of images if required. In each transmission mode, an SNS server can send images to a requesting client with original high quality, thumbnail quality, or send only text information. With varying qualities of downloaded images, an SNS developed on top of CM can provide users with consistent QoS for access to SNS content.

이종 망 환경에서 멀티미디어 서비스의 QoS를 보장하는 것은 3GE 시스템 개발을 위한 중요한 이슈이다. 이동 단말기가 이종 망간의 이동 시 끊임없는 서비스(seamless service)를 지원하기 위해서는 종단간(end-to-end) 협상 정보에 근거하여 사용자의 QoS를 보장할 수 있는 QoS 운영 구조(QoS management structure)를 제공해야 한다. 본 논문에서는 SLA(Service Level Agreement)에 기반한 종단간 QoS 제어 방안을 제시한다. 이를 위하여, QoS 지원을 위한 SLA 제어 구조 및 알고리즘을 제안하고, 시뮬레이션을 통하여 평균 지연과 패킷 손실률을 평가한다. 제안된 방식을 적용한 시스템이 기존의 망보다 더 좋은 성능을 보인다.
