  • Objectives : This study aims to examine the background of how the theory of there being no excess pattern of the Kidney has been carried on by looking at contents on Kidney excess patterns pre-Qianyi and at those negating the possibility of Kidney excess post-Qianyi. The history of the Kidney draining method for Kidney excess patterns was studied as well. Methods : Key words such as 腎實(kidney excess), 腎無實(no excess of the kidney), 瀉腎(draning the kidney) were entered into major database such as the Sikuquanshu to excavate contents on both Kidney excess and non-excess from medical classics. Results & Conclusion :In the Neijing, there are few mentions of symptoms due to Kidney excess. The theory of Kidney non-excess marks its beginning with Qianyi, who argued that Kidney manages deficiency in children only. Afterwards, some doctors expanded this theory beyond children and applied it as a general principle of the body. Based on the theory of there being no excess of the Kidney, it could be thought that while there could be excess symptoms of the Kidney, the root mechanism lies in Kidney deficiency. The importance of the Kidney as the basis of heaven-bestowed life, which is responsible for reproduction, growth and development, is what motivated the theories on the Kidney as what needs to be preserved and never drained. It could also be argued that the symptoms of Kidney excess, which were mentioned post-Neijing, got dealt with within the context of other Zhangfu differentiation patterns and deficiency symptoms, and became increasingly less designated to Kidney excess.

  • Objectives : In pediatrics, one of the most difficult thing might be medication because infant or child cannot take medicine easily. In traditional medicine, Korean taffy or paste preparations sometimes prescribed. Xiao'eryaozhengzhijue was published by Qianyi in 1119 and is specialized for pediatrics text. So I tried to research paste preparations in Xiao'eryaozhengzhijue. Methods : I derived paste preparations from Xiao'eryaozhengzhijue ; paste preparations named on it, and used as paste preparations etc. Results : 1. There were external and internal application of paste preparations. 2. Diverse secondary materials were used for making paste preparations. 3. Several chief complains were recorded in Xiao'eryaozhengzhijue. Conclusions : Paste preparations are really useful way to disease of pediatrics because infant or child cannot take his or her medicine easily. Through the research, I could find out the facts that there are diverse shapes of paste preparations and usages of paste preparations in Xiao'eryaozhengzhijue.

  • Objectives : Focusing on Wujutong's critiques for Xiebaisan misuse, this study investigates how Xiebaisan and its constituent drugs have historically been used by medical doctors and analyzes the disputes in the controversial context with a summary. Methods : The contents of Xiebaisan prescription were collected and examined from the past literature and medical database, and the issues related to the debate were examined by analyzing the contents. Results : In the results of exploring the opinions of medical doctors, in general, Xiebaisan and Sangbaipi, a major medicinal drug, were seen to play a role in the work of reinforcing and reducing. In particular, Ye Tianshi was used with cold and pungent medicine to Xiebaisan as a method of releasing heat with pungent medicine for acute fever in spring, and at the same time, care was taken to avoid depletion of secretion in the stomach. Conclusions : Wujutong's critique is that in early symptoms of viral infection, the misuse of Xiebaisan seems to emphasize the adverse effects of the illness. It is hoped that further research on Xiebaisan incremental medication will be conducted in the future to help clinical applications of Xiebaisan system medication.

  • We estimated various neuron functions to construct of engineering neurons, which are the combination of sigmoid, linear, sine, quadric, double/single bended, soft max/minimum functions. These combinations are estimated by the property on the potential surface between the learning points, calculation speed, and learning convergence; because the surface depends on the inference ability of a neuron system; and speed and convergence are depend on the efficiency on the points of engineering applications. After the evaluating discussions, we can select more appropriate combination than original sigmoid function´s, which is single bended function and linear one. The combination ...

  • In this paper, we propose a solver for differential equations, using a multi-layer neural network. The multi-layer neural network is a transformer function originally where the function is differential and the explicit representation has been developed. The learning determines the response of neural networks; however, the response is not equal to the output values. The differential relations are also the response. The differential conditions can be also set as teaching data; therefore, there is a possibility to reach a new solver for the differential equations. Since it is unknown how to define the input data for the neural network solver during long terms, we could not derive the expressions. Recently, the analogue type neural network is known and it transforms any vector to another The "any" must be...

  • We propose a neural network solver for an inverse problem. The problem is that input data with complete teaching include defects and predict the defect value. The solver is constructed of a three layer neural network whose learning method is combined from BP and reconstruction learning. The input data for the defects are unknown; therefore, the circulation of an arithmetic progression replaces them; rightly, the learning procedure is not converged for the circulation data vut for the normal data. The learning is quitted after such a learning status id kept. Then, we search a minimum of the differences between teaching data and output of the circulation. Then, we search a minimum of the ...

  • In the structural health monitoring field, damage detection has been commonly carried out based on the structural model and the engineering features related to the model. However, the extracted features are often subjected to various errors, which makes the pattern recognition for damage detection still challenging. In this study, an automated damage identification method is presented for hanger cables in a tied-arch bridge using a convolutional neural network (CNN). Raw measurement data for Fourier amplitude spectra (FAS) of acceleration responses are used without a complex data pre-processing for modal identification. A CNN is a kind of deep neural network that typically consists of convolution, pooling, and fully-connected layers. A numerical simulation study was performed for multiple damage detection in the hangers using ambient wind vibration data on the bridge deck. The results show that the current CNN using FAS data performs better under various damage states than the CNN using time-history data and the traditional neural network using FAS. Robustness of the present CNN has been proven under various observational noise levels and wind speeds.

  • The purpose of this study was to develop a system of clinical application of reconstructed dose that includes dose reconstruction, reconstructed dose registration between fractions of treatment, and dose-volume-histogram generation and to demonstrate the system on a deformable prostate phantom. To achieve this purpose, a deformable prostate phantom was embedded into a 20 cm-deep and 40 cm-wide water phantom. The phantom was CT scanned and the anatomical models of prostate, seminal vesicles, and rectum were contoured. A coplanar 4-field intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) plan was used for this study. Organ deformation was simulated by inserting a "transrectal" balloon containing 20 ml of water. A new CT scan was obtained and the deformed structures were contoured. Dose responses in phantoms and electronic portal imaging device (EPID) were calculated by using the XVMC Monte Carlo code. The IMRT plan was delivered to the two phantoms and integrated EPID images were respectively acquired. Dose reconstruction was performed on these images using the calculated responses. The deformed phantom was registered to the original phantom using an in-house developed software based on the Demons algorithm. The transfer matrix for each voxel was obtained and used to correlate the two sets of the reconstructed dose to generate a cumulative reconstructed dose on the original phantom. Forwardly calculated planning dose in the original phantom was compared to the cumulative reconstructed dose from EPID in the original phantom. The prescribed 200 cGy isodose lines showed little difference with respect to the "prostate" and "seminal vesicles", but appreciable difference (3%) was observed at the dose level greater than 210 cGy. In the rectum, the reconstructed dose showed lower volume coverage by a few percent than the plan dose in the dose range of 150 to 200 cGy. Through this study, the system of clinical application of reconstructed dose was successfully developed and demonstrated. The organ deformation simulated in this study resulted in small but observable dose changes in the target and critical structure.
