In this paper, we propose a novel modulation scheme specialized in real time broadcast system using a multicopter. Since multicopters have many advantages in aerial photography, they have been widely used in broadcasting technologies. However, because of restrictions on flight time, it is difficult to utilize multicopters in real time broadcasting systems. Therefore, video transmission using multicopter is necessary for low power communication techniques in air channel environment. Performance results of the hybrid modulation in this paper are compared to that of conventional modulations with Bit Error Rate (BER) and Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR) simulations. The results also showed that proposed system is suitable for aerial photography. Experiments demonstrated the superiority of the proposed modulation scheme by showing received symbols through an USRP equipment.

In this paper, the system performance with the convolution code using a Viterbi decoding and the one tap LMS equalizer applied to the OFDM system, which is suitable for IEEE 802.1la wireless LAN in indoor wireless channel, is analyzed through computer simulation. Indoor wireless channel is modeled as Rician fading channel, and QPSK and 16QAM scheme are used for subchannel modulation. In Rician fading channel with the power ratio of the direct path signal to the scattered signals, K=5 dB, BER of $10^{-4}$ is satisfied if the SNRs of the QPSK/OFDM and the 16QAM/OFDM are 8.6 dB and 19.2 dB in hard decision and 5.3 dB and 9.8 dB in soft decision, respectively. Compared with convolution code scheme, it is observed that 16QAM/OFDM system with the one tap LMS equalizer has the performance improvement of 8.6 dB and 2 dB in hard decision and soft decision, respectively.

If channel coefficients errors exist in MIMO-OFDM systems, the performance degradation of systems will occurs. In order to improve the performance of MIMO-OFDM systems, the technique of obtaining accurate channel estimation in multipath fading channel is necessary. In this paper, we introduce and propose new channel estimation-modified ICA algorithm. Simulation results shows from BER and SER curves which compare the proposed algorithm under time-varying Rayleigh fading with perfect known channel. The result of channel estimation by the proposed algorithm in this simulation, it shows that PDF(amplitude of channel) are close to the case with perfect known channel at the receiver with respect to uncoded QPSK/16-QAM/64-QAM modulation. Also, we can see that BER and SER curves are very close to the case with perfect known channel. Therefore, we see that the proposed algorithm have a good performance in MIMO-OFDM systems.

In this paper, a novel 2-level-search sphere decoding algorithm for multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) detection and its VLSI implementation are presented. The proposed algorithm extends the search space by concurrently performing symbol detection on 2 level of the tree search. Therefore, the possibility of discarding good candidates can be avoided. Simulation results demonstrate the good performance of the proposed algorithm in terms of bit-error-rate (BER). From the proposed algorithm, an efficient very large scale integration (VLSI) architecture which incorporates low-complexity and fixed throughput features is proposed. The proposed architecture supports many modulation techniques such as BPSK, QPSK, 16-QAM and 64-QAM. The sorting block, which occupies a large portion of hardware utilization, is shared for different operating modes to reduce the area. The proposed hardware implementation results show the improvement in terms of area and BER performance compared with existing architectures.

In this paper, we propose the architecture of modem receiver to fabricate HomePNA 2.0 chip. HomePNA suffers from inferior channel because of bridge tap, the effect of amateur HAM band and so on. To transfer data over such channel, HomePNA 2.0 uses training sequence to equalize channel and uses FD-QAM optionally as modulation method. So modem receiver demodulate QAM based signal and needs optimum architecture that fully uses these transmission feature. As a result of research, we define 2 mode function of modem receiver depending on TX/RX state. In this paper, particularly, we show the algorithm of equalizer, carrier phase recovery and frame synchromzationblock and propose architecture that improve the performance of channel equalization and is stable in operation. In the end, we estimate the performance of proposed HomePNA2.0 modem receiver over HomePNA TEST LOOP using SPW program.

An orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) system is a special case of multicarrier transmission, where a single data stream is transmitted over a number of lower-rate subcarriers. One of the main reasons to use OFDM is to increase robustness against frequency-selective fading or narrowband interference. However, in the radio systems the distortion introduced by high power amplifiers (HPA's) such as traveling wave tube amplifier (TWTA) considered in this paper, is also critical. Since the signal amplitude of the OFDM system is Rayleigh-distributed, the performance of the OFDM system is significantly degraded by the nonlinearity of the HPA in the OFDM transmitter. In this paper, we propose a simplicial canonical piecewise-linear (SCPWL) model based digital predistorter to compensate for nonlinear distortion introduced by an HPA in an OFDM system. Computer simulation is carried on an OFDM system under additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) channels with 16-QAM and 64-QAM modulation schemes and modulator/demodulator implemented with 1024-point FFT/IFFT. The simulation results demonstrate that the proposed predistorter achieves significant performance improvement by effectively compensating for the nonlinearity introduced by the HPA.
Recently, studies of 3D HDTV broadcasting technology have been processed actively. Korea is making efforts to modify Advanced Television Systems Committee (ATSC) 8-Vestigial Side Band (8-VSB) systems for terrestrial 3D HDTV broadcasting services. We intend to adopt a new frame structure to use PN (Pseudo-Noise) sequence as frame header, and VSB modulation. PN sequence is used to recover carrier freqeuncy offset, carrier phase error. In this paper, we will describe this system as the modified ATSC systems. The receiver of the modified ATSC system should be able to estimate and recover carrier frequency offset exactly. A existing ATSC systems inserts pilot to recover carrier frequency offset, on the other hand the modified ATSC systems use PN sequence to recovery carrier frequency offset without the use of pilot. In this paper, we introduce carrier frequency recovery (CFR) scheme for the modified ATSC systems. The proposed CFR scheme is composed of coarse CFR scheme using Fitz algorithm and fine CFR scheme using a simple PN sequence correlation algorithm. And, the symbol information of QAM modulated signal is contained in both In-phase (I)channel and Quadrature-phase (Q)channel. However the symbol information of VSB modulated signal is contained in I channel, and Q channel is just Hilbert transform of I channel. For the reason, VSB modulated symbols can not have fixed phase like QAM modulated symbols, and VSB modulated symbols is more sensitive to carrier frequency offset. Therefore we perform phase correction of received PN sequence to improve performance.

Hardware components are an integral part of Hardware Define Radio (HDR) for seamless operations and optimal performance. On the other hand, Software Define Radio (SDR) is a program that does not rely on any hardware components for its performance. Both of the latter radio programmers utilize modulation functions to make their core components from signal processing viewpoint. The following paper concentrates on SDR based modulation and their performance under different modulations. The bit error rate (BER) of modulations such as PSK, QAM, and PSAM were used as indicators to test channel quality estimation in planar Rayleigh fading. Though it is not commonly used for channel fading, the method of the adder determines the regionally segmented channel fading. Thus, the estimation error of the channel change substantially reduces the performance of the signal, hence, proving to be an effective option. Moreover, this paper also elaborates that BER is calculated as a function of the sample size (signal length) with an average of 20 decibels. Consequently, the size of the results for different modulation schemes has been explored. The analytical results through derivations have been verified through computer simulation. The results focused on parameters of amplitude estimation error for 1dB reduction in the average signal-to-noise ratio, while the combined amplitude deviation estimation error results are obtained for a 3.5 dB reduction
A Novel Stop-&-Go Algorithm which incorporate a Bank structure for blind equalization is investigated in this paper. 16-QAM and $\pi/4-DQPSK$ modulation used in this paper. A Proposed novel algorithm of characteristic is high speed transfer by implementation of the equalization algorithm with less computations capacity. The computer simulations result reveal that the proposed Novel Stop-&-Go shows the comparable performance to the conventional Stop-&-Go, while requiring much less computations.
